Help! Nowhere hidden to put private config file!
On the new website, all I’ve is a actual directory on my personal FTP. I do not have any directories underneath it helping put config files, we don’t want anybody to determine. The people along at the host said in order to password protect the directory the config file is currently in (a subdir in the root) with htaccess, but merely do this then the PHP include()s won’t be able to access it. Possibly there is any other way to make this file private on the outside world With thanks! You could take a step like this: PHP: if ( $_SERVER’PHP_SELF’ == ‘/protectedFolder/protectedFile. php’ ) die( ‘Private record, buddy. Step back again. ‘ ); I believe should work. Naturally, you change /protected… on the appropriate folder/file, relative on the *server root*. Ah I see, so should the actual file inside the browser is the private one, it’s going to display the meaning, but if it is a different page as well as private file is just being included, it won’t Because it isn’t really the current page I think I getcha. With thanks, buddy WE wouldn’t even show a message. Just forward them onto for … Continue reading

Not sure where this goes really coz i have no idea what the problem is…
Hell I’m very new to this site and We are a beginner at making webpages compared to nearly all of you i’m certain… Anyway moving forward to… Well where does someone start, its a little problem although its one thats carrying out my head in big time… This is my own site well the component to it thats looking for some fixing plus attention http: //www. kevinomega. corp. uk/Webdesign/NXW/main. html My issue is using the link images if you look at these individuals in firefox these are fine look simply as I’ve structured but when looked at in IE they need a nasty package around them that actually does spoil the final look of the otherwise ok pattern, i’m really unclear if this can be a script problem or even an image problem precisely as it works in different browsers just definitely not IE and while I could disregard it if it turned out another browser the idea didn’t work around, IE is kinda an important important one. I just been curious about if anyone experienced a clue how i might be able to fix this at all Every help is considerably appreciated! Be thankful for you News just within … Continue reading

How to add flash
Ok, I’m very brand new at this. MY PARTNER AND I added my pen in dreamweaver, along with saved it. MY PARTNER AND I viewed the web coding file on the harddrive offline, as well as flashplayed fine. I sent the actual html through file transfer protocol to my host. Now when my partner and i view my internet site, there is a white box where my flash need to be. Here is a link to my site mydadletsmedrink. fcpages. com sorry around the bad language on this site, it’s fiction for me and my pals. Maybe you should review your site after which you can realize the audience you’re asking for support here. While you come here trying for help with a niche site that says " I don’t discover how to code that well, and that it’s not necessary to give a f#*"……. most likely won’t get a great deal help. Destroy open your Dreamweaver guide or a Expensive book. Who knows Maybe you will start caring with regards to what you released and become a superb designer. Best of luck…… Um, I said it was for my pals, and I requested help, I don’t value the audience … Continue reading

Stretching jpegs to fit browser window
Hello, My organization is a musician, not only a web-designer. I recently used a web-designer that will put a site together. One of the particular requests I made was that the jpegs I cropped for your 17" screen with a 1024 resolution ‘stretch’ to suit into a 16 to 19" inch screen, much like it is possible to stretch an photograph in windows to suit your desktop. I will not care about pixelization. I experimented with the images employing a simple ‘zoom in’ as well as ‘zoom out’ software. Yes, there has been pixelization, but, the feel belonging to the image didn’t modify. I was ok by it. The designer provided me with one among an image this stretched very nicely in Firefox. However, but there’s more stretch vertically around IE. And I don’t know how it looks for a Mac platform. The designer said ?t had been a simple little bit of javascript he used for that Firefox. Does anyone know of any workaround. I want large jpegs ( averaging 70k ) that will stretch horizontally and vertically to suit 15 to 19" privacy screens in I. AGE., Firefox, and with a Mac platform. Bless you. http: //www. webdesignforums. … Continue reading

Moving mysite off the top of the browser
Basically my business is making a flash site and also a html site for all those on low bandwidth junctions. Now my html is identical that will my flash a single except its static and lacks a few features. Now their only 500px excessive, so i has been hoping to centre it vertically. Has anyone got any ideas on how to get this done I have tried a few things but it has the just not developing. Gives thanks in advance Perad If you need to lower it down somewhat you could add this from the head of an individual page HTML: < head> < title>… < /title> < type type=" text/css" > physique margin-top: 10%; < /style> < /head> and just enjoy with changing the actual 10% to something bigger or either pixels (150px). Or if you really want it center vertically do this http: //www. sitepoint. com/forums/showpost. phpp=1243542& postcount=9.

Learning the basics
I’ve been using Photoshop CS2 and Dreamweaver 8 for about… properly… 1 day. Ive been doing tutorials right through the day. I think i obtained a basic (very basic) idea of each. Ive been reading through this forum and yes it seems nobody likes dreamweavers " design" feature. For me, I dont understand anything about coding and many of the tutorials i happen to be doing show using the design. Is there grounds for this Furthermore, Im trying to learn Photoshop to design an internet page for my dad’s business. I learned from tutorials generate buttons and rollovers. For making a site implementing photoshop and dreamweaver, don’t you just design your webpage in photoshop as you would see it from the browser leaving spaces for buttons along with text, and after that just copy that into dreamweaver Any help could be appreciated. Could someone show me such as a template they will made in photoshop for any website so we can get a greater understanding. Sorry for being so inexperience but in the end i did are available here for aid. Thanks in advance, Vinnie The primary reason for the dislikeing with design view in Dreamweaver is because it can … Continue reading

Brave or just dumb to not support IE6?
Howdy everyone, Given the fact IE7 has been recently with us for a variety of months now, would you consider it to be a brave move, or plain foolish to drop help support for IE6 once you create a innovative website My site shows that the majority still use IE6 but that is decreasing every day, and pretty soon IE7 will be the main browser. On the list of reasons I consult your opinion is that I’m redesigning my site. It’s XHTML as well as CSS, and can be standards compliant. Makes perfect in IE7, Opera, Firefox, Safari, Camino and any browser you can visualize. Except IE6. It would take plenty of effort to get rid of it for IE6. By using IE6’s user trust gradually dwindling, is it worth it Within your opinion, should webmasters still take the time and effort to make a site best with IE6 now it’s been superseded by IE7 Naturally, we don’t help to make sites still appropriate for IE3 anymore! So really the issue is, at what point should we cease supporting heritage browsers — which include IE6 Involved to hear a person’s thoughts Support IE6 right up until its usage declines to … Continue reading
