The Golden Search Triangle
Include just read this particular interesting article… http: //www. eyetools. com/inpage/research_google_eyetracking_heatmap. htm Summing up: they tracked peoples’ eye movement on google. The top remaining is where all of the focus is. If you’re about to advertise on any kind of site (especially search sites) have an advert positioning from the triangle they’ve identified as this is when it is visiting get the nearly all attention. It’s pretty cool that they have the technology to study something similar to that, but don’t people think the findings were somewhat obvious Naturally by far the most focus is going to be where the major content is, especially on the topmost part on the site. Anyway, thanks for the particular link. Appears like Jacob Nielsen’s research results from your decade ago!: -P Zero wonder why he says " Logo number one and Nav for the left!! "; -) *Astonishing* Up till currently I never knew that coming to the top on the search results was as good as the bottom! I am sorry… this eye tracking stuff is a bunch of BS. They sometimes fully admit, in accordance with their studies, sometimes people click " not having looking" or study " without considering the … Continue reading

Eric Schmidt Defines Web 3.0
http: //www. readwriteweb. com/archives/eric_schmidt_defines_web_30. php (YouTube vid embedded with page) Hence " web COUPLE OF. 0" is something it does not work if people turn javascript down Can’t we neglect fancy names and also just call it the net like we employed to I favor " That generally there intranets thingy"….: cheeky: Web 4. 0 can be where it’s at. That’s where every one of these bandwagon jumpers realize it’s all many of rubbish, and return to creating static websites in Frontpage. 60’s revival. Psh, I have no idea of about you most, but I don’t think the web will be ready for venture use before World wide web 6 or SEVERAL. 0. And perhaps then, you know how major releases are always buggy, so we’ll probably have to wait for two minor releases — 7. 2 or 7. 3, probably. Seriously. This versioning BS would need to stop. The web is not a piece of software. Changes may not be versioned, because these are gradual. Basically, Web 2 . 0. 0 is like saying Calendaring COUPLE OF. 0′ or Word Processing 2. 0′. The phrase I typically use correctly is retarded’. But that’s just my estimation…

Hello everyone, That is my first posting here, so hello! I am here for some suggestions. We’ve a BS in CS and have taken a category or two on web site design but it’s been with a year and We have forgotten most of what I had learned. I use a programming background in addition to am currently working like a web applications developer; I’ve picked way up C#/. NET/SQL plus am loving the item. Every day I am learning cool things and I’d prefer to continue that will explore data-driven web sites. So what the heck am MY SPOUSE AND I here for I have always been weak using the ‘design’/visual/creative elements regarding website creation and wish to know where to start. I am knowledgeable about CSS (don’t recall much, but I know I can get familiar with it again). We’ve used GoLive (code/designer view split), and Adobe ImageReady. I’ve recently gained involvement in learning Flash in the process. I don’t expect to find out complicated animations, but simple ones which could really enhance the planning and appeal on the site. I want kid not only code the functionality of any site but also have the capacity to create … Continue reading

If I were to look for a job in web design tommorrow with a sufficent resume, how long for a job?
, Depends where you live. I got ONLY TWO job offers inside a week when WHEN I started looking. Both equally awesome offers. Pondered to move to be able to Boston though. Inside Miami, I could hardly find anything advantageous. I live near Toronto, North america. Coo man, the reason why nothing in Miami.. Take into account his definition of worthwhile differs from the others than yours. He’s owned the own company for a little bit and headed upward major projects for many very high account clients. He’s not searching for minimum wage and also anything. That isn’t really accurate, Wired. There seemed to be nothing worthwhile throughout Miami because annoying going on in Miami within the Tech Industry. Although you can find people hiring, they’re all BS promoting and e-Commerce corporations. Miami is a BS city. The true tech startups are generally all concentrated throughout California, New York, as well as Boston. In Birkenstock boston, there’s a authentic shortage of great developers, and companies are generally paying top-dollar for those skill levels. Needless to say, it’s an expensive city to live on in, so it is almost a to help. Still, the world happens to be experiencing a substantial … Continue reading
