my new client INSISTS that I should set up a template for them
But they may be musicians, so I discover where they’re coming from. Also, I am already interested in a long-term maintenance contract with another client. Basically my clients will not be 100% code-savvy and so they want a system where should they type something around word, it can be instantly uploaded on the website. Does anyone know what type of thing I’m preaching about I said i always would do it, since I’ve heard about it actually becoming done, but currently I’m stuck. Bless you. BTW, I get TSW webcoder as my HTML software package, not Dreamweaver. Do need to learn much code to cut and insert the content towards the website, especially when the content is marked off in the code for straightforward readability. What I suggest, if you don’t want to add a CMS towards site, is to redo the site via CSS in the event you haven’t, create a distant relative div tag when the center content material, /* Comment that code where they should cut and stick */, and get them open any html editor and cut and substance the info. Sounds a tad Mickey Mouse, plus it will work when done properly, and it’s not … Continue reading

Fitting page to all screen resolutions
Hi there, I use FrontPage to design.. I am having trouble determining tips on how to size my tables so that they will fix from a 1280×1024 browser. Currently my settings are generally on 100% regarding window, and everything fits nice in an 800×600 or perhaps 1024×768, but naturally 100% regarding window doesn’t look delicious in the increased resolution. Very advanced websites have mastered having their table absolute and aligned on the left or centered, does anyone realize how to do this around FrontPage, or when there is some html We can insert somewhere to accomplish this Give thanks You– well personaly post wouldnt use front page in the first place but i may suggest asking pyrodragon regarding it because he includes a script that he could present you with to help with your little problem… thanks for your refrence morpheus remorseful it took me as long i am assumeing you mean this hold content in the centre of the page here it can be: HTML: < html> < HEAD> < script type=" text/javascript" > <! — purpose resize() var broad = window. monitor. availWidth var excessive = window. monitor. availHeight var maxh = ONE THOUSAND // your maximum height … Continue reading

What is content management?
I have done a great deal of searching and have failed to understand exactly what it’s and how this works I believe… it allows a new user to edit a websites subject matter without changing your layout and type. Is this right Yes. Allows updating of an site/page without the actual re-uploading of code (type) files plus without editing the complete appearance of the positioning. page. When stuck over a term, I use google, I search for http: //www. search engines. co. uk/searchhl=en& lr=& oi=defmore& defl=en& q=define: Content management CMS (Content Direction System) works simply by using a server-side language for example PHP or Perl. All those languages allow a person to log straight into an administrative page and make changes towards site by editing text files plus uploading content. There are lots of turn-key CMS programs for PHP/MySQL… most are free, some demand author credit, several are ad-free, several cost money. Everthing depends on the features and how customizable they are. Once you learn PHP or Perl, you can make your individual simple CMS, for any single user, by using one password. Almost nothing fancy, but using PHP and/or SSI (Server Aspect Includes) to pull-up content material from text … Continue reading

Going about making a site
Come to a decision usually go about make website. Like the planning aspect of the item. Where do you become your motivation and what does one do first I usually think of designs when my business is cutting my lawn or in the shower. I really like to combine nature, and sleek layouts so I guess plainly see something that pertains to either of those who is my motivation. And I usually draw the design on paper, and then make the photos, and then put everything togeather with divs. For no reason tables. I often think of content material first. I normally take note of the different sections (and possibly sub-sections) which the website will have, and note any type of content it will present. Also I make an attempt to develop a view of the file (directory view). Layout wise, it all depends on the website in hand. Commonly, it hits me inside the shower very same, actually I also have paper & pen readily available. My place may be a mess because connected with it, but I favor to think I produce an improvement. bfsog makes a superb point. The site is required to fit the content so … Continue reading

Simple site editing
Hello there. I’m helping a tiny non-profit redesign the site and I am looking to get away from them with a strategy to easily edit a small area on leading page. Like regarding news and events. What i’m interested in is something with blog like function, you know, Sign in, edit or add, and be executed. With no likelihood in harming the other site layout Right after reading this discussion boards for awhile WE saw Edit-Point proposed, but that isn’t visiting work. To easy to mess items up, and not very user friendly. (these people are certainly not that computer savy) Thanks for just about any input. If it is definitely one area to be updated then developing your own personal system (or another person doing it with regard to you). may be what you want. The advantage of this method is you decide where the content material is. Thinking of familar with device side programming Hehe, no I need ideas of anything about encoding. I just understand enough about websites that they are dangerous It’s just going to become a simple website, absolutely nothing fancy. We’ve a script installing around, but…. I totally didn’t remember that my domains were … Continue reading

Validation
Can certainly anyone give me some links in order to known validators It would be good if these types of forums had a new sticky somewhere using links to verify our websites in order that they meet good standards Thanks a lot! The w3c has many of the main validators – http: //validator. w3. org/ to get HTML and http: //jigsaw. w3. org/css-validator/ to get CSS. There’s also a validator with regard to WCAG (Web Content material Accessibility Guidelines) that’s the following (link too long). But this town, for compliance in order to accessibility which is a very good thing, is reasonably hard to go away. I know theres some sort of DDA validator identified as Bobby and I believe W3c created the item, however I can’t find it online or the w3c internet site. Have you found it http: //webxact. watchfire. com/ You may get some pretty respectable ones for firefox – head over to add on webpages for Firefox plus type validator inside search box, there’s two analysts I think. Most such validators still use the official ones AFAIK. The validation method is too complex to try and do via JS, which can be what FF employs for … Continue reading

Why is my width being pushed to be larger?
Why is my thicker being pushed to be larger We’ve this site of which i’m currently doing: http: //www. linedetail. com Every page is fine except for: http: //www. linedetail. com/contactus2006. php For whatever reason the html belonging to the content in this page is causing the words " Web Web hosting service & Domain Names" around the left menu to be put on 2 lines. We’ve deleted and eradicated the table that is holding the speak to info repeatedly along with it’s contents. Unless the main table is removed for this, that is the sole time when what will look normal on the left. Thus, if you can certainly, help me learn why it is usually that the content on this kind of page is moving the center column for being larger than another pages. Thanks, -Line The answer lies in the code comments HTML: < td valign=" top" width=" 704" style=" padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px" > <! — Anything in here need to be 694 pixels or less in width —> It says right there that the middle section must not be more when compared with 694 pixels. You’ve got 704. That comment is that cell. The actual … Continue reading →
