Designing a new site
Hi there, I’ve received a few advice about our site over inside " How’s the site" forum, and I’ve determined that now My goal is to totally start again with my style. As well to be a new design, I’m also intending to change your technical backend associated with my site and write a kind of CMS. In any case, I have created a fresh navbar (see website link in sig) and a new logo (attached). Any comments in these and suggestions on the design would always be welcome. dude oh man. the following we go again! That other thread of yours had been pretty big!: common: Good luck with the rewrite! Ill post the useful comments sooner or later…. hmm this logo is really decent; theres nothing really wrong by using it. As for your nav.. it demands some work. It seems as if you used Xara or another program to make it (no offense). Another thing is the fact that bevels are one of the abbused affects people used in webdesign (along area gradients). Bevels in proportion(sp) seems ok but an excess of can completly ruin an online site design or in this case its navigation. I recomend … Continue reading

$ Prices for design $ How much to charge?
When times change so do prices plus complexity of style and design. I am having trouble understanding how much for you to charge for style services. I be aware that all projects are wide and varied but does any person have any ideas for packages along with prices Not any to blow-by ones question, but this topic has become discussed here many times… here’s one lookup… http: //www. webdesignforums. net/search. phpsearchid=119618 Pricing is likewise dependent upon a person’s local market. You have to shop some competitors and find some quotes to determine what their rates are and then price accordingly (not often cheaper) but with what sales demands. That way when they go to a competitor to secure a quote, you will probably be inline with these folks. I have a listing of my 4 top rated competitors in my market after which you can priced accordingly. While I’m cheaper on a couple things, I am based on all their additional pricing. There are worked great ending deals when price is surely an issue. Price out web design, custom design, artwork rates, hourly charges, etc. Good luck…..

Overview of what I need to do
When creating a site with loads of product listings (30k+ products), the definition of some ways to arrange it and list it within the webpage Well there a variety of wants, you will surely have it displayed within a table and problem the pictures applying php or mysql or even something. Or perhaps just start off creating a kitchen table to drop many of the images in, it has them organized particularly when they’re resized to certain or teh similar image dimensions. You will have to use PHP as well as MySQL. Every other method of storing a large number of items will not work well. You’ll find other database alternatives, but MySQL coupled with PHP offers the best support and cases (and existing scripts). Hard bet is to apply a good buying cart system, for all those my clients WE suggest OSCOMMERCE, it can be an excellent shopping cart plus they have many solutions to list several 1 , 000 products, good luck with your new store! Just how much do people usually charge in making a site of which uses php and mysql selling 30k+ items what I do is build a backend design to be able to … Continue reading

Hello guys, You might’ve seen several of my posts here and there, but I was getting ino freelance web design, and everything ended up being going ok, had a cuople clients a long way, but nothing I could truthfully really make a living off of. So I took a significant part time web-designer occupation in my place (20hrs/wk) and apart form utilizing the 3 and also so clients i’ve complied far, this might be my first actual JOB like a web designer. I was just wondering exactly what advice you guys have with luck. MY first day time was today, along with the bossman had me complete a small graphic ad for a site, create the latest page on an existing clients site, and result in a couple contact forms for some other client. I’m accustomed to working on my very own, designing with standards, using css that will layout everything, and so forth.. and these guys are all home windows based, table-full, javascript hefty sites. I found today it was really troublesome trudging through line after distinct table based markup only to create a simple form. Regardless, the job really should be cool, I find a way to like … Continue reading
