New here – and in need!

Hello, I maintain a web site site for any local not-for-profit and you’ll find a problem by using one page we cannot seem to mend. The page will likely be maintained in dreamweaver (not guaranteed if that matters) and is particularly primarily composed making use of one big desk with smaller tables inside that. Until recently, that’s worked really well to hold everything where it ought to be. However, we now are experiencing issues with blocks of text overlapping so every little thing seems squished all the way through, and is unreadable. As the same page has been in use for many years, I’ve experimented with scrapping it along with starting over, reducing may be tables used, but it’s actually not improved. Has anyone else experienced this challenge Is there your fix Oh – page isn’t going to have this display issue for anyone — only with some monitors. I have tried it at 4 different screens (3 pc, one mac) and only find the problem on 1 from the 4. Really interested in a solution. this page may be the money maker to the organization. Thanks a ton! A handful of things: stay faraway from tables. go to DIVs … Continue reading

Multiple Language Website – How?

Hello all, I’m assembling a website within (I think) related to 7 languages. So I presume I build one website after which it make 7 copies of it as well as translate the text following that…. Would that end up being right Seems a tad long winded so I thought right now there might be a healthier way – can any individual offer any suggestions Or am I spot on throughout my assumption Thanks heaps ahead! Neil : ichatnervous: It really will depend on your website. When you’ve got a site which displays dynamic content (such to be a blog, articles, etc), content is already stored in any database. That content is stored in various directories as their own language. Cookies how the user has picked out will determine which in turn language to show… the scripts draw that content through the appropriate directory. I would go for a " template" type site the place that the base look is fixed, plus the subject material is pulled via various directories. Users select their language choice and that decision is saved being a cookie so they see a similar language when they come back later. It’s all about using PHP in … Continue reading

Many websites make use of robots. txt to prohibit Google from indexing their pages thereby preventing the pages from arriving in the se. But the fact is the fact that robots. txt doesnt actually do the second item, even though it can prevent your internet site from being listed. Code: < meta name=" robots" content=" noindex, nofollow" /> Basicaly, allow your internet site to be listed, but block it from showing within the search listings by adding that meta tag inside header of each page. Actually, there are two better ways of accomplish the exact goal. 1) Produce a robots. txt file having these two lines in it (nothing else).
