uploading a Frontpage website

We are about to utilize 1and1 to web host my website. Easily designed the entire site in Frontpage, and linked all the clickable stuff, what will I must do once I upload as well as Will I can relink everything Or should it be odne automatically for me Everything requires been done on auto-pilot using relative hyperlinks. However, you may have to check that the many links don’t go to the files on your harddrive compared with just relative links towards files – We’ve never used Frontpage in advance of, but I are aware that that problem can certainly occur with Dreamweaver sometimes (like when you start creating as well as without saving it to be a site first that has a local root folder). But I guess you may really find out when you finally upload the site on the web (or you can test looking in your source code). effectively, I started post started building the whole thing as the " New Website" inside frontpage.. I notice from the code, some information are referenced along with C: \ from the name, and some simply develop the last few service nmes (the diretories following website folder…. ). Is that … Continue reading

Simple site editing

Hello there. I’m helping a tiny non-profit redesign the site and I am looking to get away from them with a strategy to easily edit a small area on leading page. Like regarding news and events. What i’m interested in is something with blog like function, you know, Sign in, edit or add, and be executed. With no likelihood in harming the other site layout Right after reading this discussion boards for awhile WE saw Edit-Point proposed, but that isn’t visiting work. To easy to mess items up, and not very user friendly. (these people are certainly not that computer savy) Thanks for just about any input. If it is definitely one area to be updated then developing your own personal system (or another person doing it with regard to you). may be what you want. The advantage of this method is you decide where the content material is. Thinking of familar with device side programming Hehe, no I need ideas of anything about encoding. I just understand enough about websites that they are dangerous It’s just going to become a simple website, absolutely nothing fancy. We’ve a script installing around, but…. I totally didn’t remember that my domains were … Continue reading

how do companies test your skills before hiring?

For starters, do they genuinely do that I found a new design firm trying to find production assistants this summer. Not looking for the money (although Now i’m glad its a PAID internship! ) but more with the experience. My goal is to phase out this freelancing and work with several companies because I’d prefer my resume and portfolio to indicate more than just projects I did for several consumers. This company expects people to learn a fair a higher level CSS, RSS, HTML DOCUMENT, Dreamweaver, ectera.. none of the heavy stuff just like PHP. But I expect that parallel my 2 years of experience they may ask questions or ask if i could demonstrate my own skills. What does one think they’d want me to perform I will say that that working traditionally with Flash in addition to CSS has steered me off from Javascript functions and pop-up windows. Gives thanks. P. VERTS: The last publish I made in relation to integrated marketing ended up being very stupid.. WHEN I should’ve simply googled them. I’ve found together with interviews for jobs which have been for HTML, CSS stuff, they seem to check more at your portfolio, but it does … Continue reading

Problems w/styles

My organization is using Dreamweaver 8 to style my site. We’ve 2 cells from a table with text in both of them. I applied a style towards the first cell. Next time i highlight the contents of the 2nd cell and make an effort to apply a specific style to prospects contents, the contents automatically change towards the syle that is placed on the FIRST personal. Can anyone tell me what My organization is doing wrong (I feel pretty new to the, inc. CSS) You have to give us a link aimed at your web so we can easily see it in activity. But if just what exactly you’re experiencing is a Dreamweaver alter problem, Make sure you get out on the WYSIWYG mode and start the mode where you will edit the Html document using Notepad, or even whatever simple text message editor Dreamweaver makes use of. You truly should not be using < table> s in any way. Replicate this really very simple example into a person’s Dreamweaver editor… Code: < html> < head> < title> Our Site< /title> < style> code, body margin: 0px automotive; #content width: 800px; line: 1px solid #777; #left thickness: 300px; padding: 40px; … Continue reading

Best Set Up for Valid Code

Hello Everyone – We are new to Web site design. I wanted to have your thoughts on which you feel will be best set upward for valid signal. I use Dreamweaver CS3, and We are running into troubles because I generally use tables inside an HTML document, and when I check out validate the site, it HATES almost all of the tags or properties. Should I be making an XHTML file instead instead of using tables Your applying for grants what the best setup and layout are could be MUCH appreciated! Thank you! A valid XHTML file which has tables can be valid. The thing related to tables is when you find yourself using them to style the layout of your website. Tables are still beneficial for displaying tabular data. Tabular data is commonly consists of tips and rows, for a spreadsheet. I think you should forget any product this creats your (X)HTML and babies.

sIFR – FINALLY All Fonts Available on the Web!

Check this out: http: //www. mikeindustries. com/blog/sifr/ All these guys are nothing at all short of great. They created the Flash + Javascript component that takes virtually any HTML document and replaces < h*> elements that has a Flash object with the same size comprising rich, beautiful text. What what this means is to us, as designers, is that individuals can design websites that use virtually any FONTS WE NEED, without having to produce images for all of them. Better yet, these pages will be 100% accessible, with sIFR fonts displayed to virtually all web users, plus the remainder simply seeing the default CSS-specified net fonts. HOW COOL IS THIS!! I’m gonna make the first sIFR page tomorrow!: -D All right, I just tested out it out…. really freakin sweet!!! Usually there are some little annoyances distinct to Flash (e. h. can’t copy that sIFR’ed chunks regarding text with the rest of the body), but that’s acceptable. I’ve seen this just before, a couple of prohibited… There was something about it that has been not good (but MY SPOUSE AND I can’t remember). I’ll should re-visit it again. I had never been aware of anything like that, but obviously they … Continue reading

Slideshow gallery help please

Hey concerning created a gallery area with thumbnail pics with a site im currently working away at. How do i allow the consumer to clicks among the list of images so so it opens up in the larger window with buttons that alows these people to scrole towards the next and preceding image. I know i could truthfully do this by makin a sepret html document per image and incorporating buttons but that just is just a very long way around this. Apply LightBox… See this example: http: //www. tesacigars. com/Boutique/photos. php Use Google find: LightBox Essentially, it’s all Javascripting plus some CSS. That’s the way to do your gallery, you only really need to upload the thumbs and also fullsize… then alter one page for your thumbs. Thanks thanks this really is almost exactly what i became looking for =.

help with portfolio format for a landscape architect

Hi there everyone, I’m a web style and design newbie, but I’m learning a whole lot. I have made a homepage from the template I observed online. I adapted it rather to change the colors and increase my logo, or anything else. Here is what I wish to accomplish. I like this site, http: //www. timgossla. com and what he’s set up for any portfolio section. Recommendations my site, http: //www. waldronla. com the site will be pretty simple and I’d like to keep it that way for easy map-reading, but I’m afraid that this base area seriously isn’t big enough to suit the species of portfolio that ricky has. I tried for you to fiddle around using the css and html page to expand your box area, but am admittedly missing. any insight is actually greatly appreciated. You last note, Used to do find a picture gallery that could suit my wants called simpleviewer, but I’m not sure the way to embed it into my site shape, especially since the particular base of my personal site doesn’t seem big enough that will accomodate That site template you might be using is a little different. Same in appearance and feel … Continue reading
