How does this slicing and dicing process work?
In the past I have watched somebody design a site basically in Illustrator. Then he directs it off to be able to someone who sorts of slices and dices them and turns that into code. How exactly can that work I’ve tried to make use of the slice in addition to dice tool ahead of in Photoshop, but I can not do anything for it. The slicing device in Photoshop is definitely assistant to an operation. It can create HTML but never, ever use it with the. The slicing tool essentially helps you crop, flatten, preview within various formats, and save an image in one step. When a person name the pieces, and if hi-def overlap, you can explain every image you may need for a site in most cases and save all of them at once that will individual, appropriately-named records. It should then depend on you to incorporate the images in to CSS and, less likely, the HTML once more. Yeah, they often slice and dice it and change it into code. Perhaps things are changing nowadays, but I know in the past it would set up tables and spacer gifs in abundance! Just my opinion but in … Continue reading

Looking for help
I’m unsure if any associated with you ca assistance me or not necessarily but I’ll look at. My girlfriend is a intro to web site design class. They are applying 2 programs. Is Dreamweaver and additional is a program they use to set up the page. I’m unsure what it is known as but I speculate they create the website/page within this program then transfer it up to dreamweaver. I’m looking to buy both of this for her. Any thoughts on what it is Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, or InDesign could well be my guess. Possibly Photoshop. If it truly is, get ready to spend about $1000 for any two!

having problems edting a site on web.com
I currently have a site with net. com. Here may be the link: www. microfusionwelding. com I created a background that has a logo in Illustrator CS4, and would want to add it to existing page. Recommendations my problem. Can’t move direction-finding and why could be the page not scrolling I’ve attached a jpeg connected with what’s happening. Anybody got any insights. Thanks Dan You get what you spend on.:: shrug:: Proprietary expertise like web. com are infamous for providing little flexibility to promote. I think you can be better away from asking them immediately… most people listed here are professional web makers, and so get little experience along with DIY tools for instance web. com. All the best!

advice on gifs please?
Hi there. would like to work with gif for a website I am working away at but the shadows or gradients emerge flat & nasty. I’m for example, making a button in illustrator along with using drop darkness. I’ve it set for best quality & for many of the colors available. Could anyone suggest easy methods to solve this problem With thanks Don’t work with a gif for gradients, shadows, or perhaps photographs, Save it for a jpg. But I need to the transparency. that was the real reason for the gif. You need to use PNG, but for IE5, SIX (and 7), you must use a hack to repair their PNG problem. – doesn’t that drastically improve the file size I’ve the same difficulty with transparent gifs. I’m afraid I just now now do not forget the limitations while designing and do not incorporate shadows etc plainly know it’ll mean a see-thorugh gif. jpg seems to be OK. Only work with the original png’s with all the current extra info throughout them. You still have to export them for a web png. I’ve noticed microscopic size increases when using PNG. And when you’re dealing with shadows or gradients you’re … Continue reading

CSS3 : should we not be worried bout ie6 anymore?
Hey people of website development… I just learn: http: //24ways. org/2009/make-your-mockup-in-markup what don’t you guys think ought to we abandon css2, photoshop and the idea of ie6 not copy css3 The article is absolutely great… and Id love to learn css3… but the idea of not using illustrator for my mockups usually are bit daunting and also call me obsessive compulsive but I merely cant leave those old skul people of ie6 at the rear of….. The author may be a really great web designer… even my advisor says shes much better than him… oh well hope to find out what are your own thoughts bout this kind of… This is a good evolution in progression and we are during it. We don’t want to reduce the old stuff because some people still use this. We don’t prefer to use the brand new stuff because a lot of people don’t have the item yet! IE6 has one foot inside grave and other foot on a new banana peel. The only real way to complete it off is usually when designers stop designing for it. As long because sites work with IE6 then people will never have a motive to upgrade. … Continue reading

PNG question
This may sound stupid, but is the PNG image format more well suited for bitmapped or vector graphics I mean, I know in which it’s originally made for bitmap (raster graphics), but was wondering whether it could possibly also support vectorial Bitmap. It was before developed to replace the gif. Your question is pretty comprehensive actually. You can bring vector info to some png through the png extension, but why will be the question. You can turn a vector to some png using a plan. If you’re planning in Illustrator it is going to convert a vector with a png. Are you trying to find conversion or were you merely curious. In short, it will possibly not support vector but it could be converted, then it’s really not a vector once you convert it! There’s a ton of info online. Hi. Thank you! It was really just away from curiosity. That responded my questions Content ’10. In short, PNG is the new GIF associated with with your. png’s that for those who have a background that’s not filled then it will become transparent in the application you are choosing it in I’ve truly heard that frequent adoption of. png has … Continue reading
