Frontpage vs. Dreamweaver..The Battle Rages On

Frequent I’ve heard precisely how inferior FP should be to DW, how " real" web-developers do not use FP. Nonetheless… both are WYSIWYG uses. Both allow one to hand code, in the event you wish. And because of the looks of that FP 2003 beta, it appears Microsoft is building a considerable attempt that will eat into a number Macromedia’s market promote. Complaints about FP’s excessive and proprietary code have also been addressed, it appears. I’ve seen excellent commercial sites produced with FP. So, as a FP customer, why do MY PARTNER AND I still have the inferiority complex Never get me erroneous, I think DW fantastic product. BUT, have I been told almost all these years to avoid FP even if DW is considered the " hipper" instrument OR, can DW make it happen much more when compared with FP Are you at that high of a disadvantage professionally books use FP as an alternative to DW WDFers good off… You’re missing a significant point… 90% of developers usually do not use Dreamweaver’s WYSIWYG conclusion.. they use the actual code-only view. POST only use dreamweaver simply because: a) I failed to have ot pay for it b) FILE TRANSFER … Continue reading

Good, I’m an second time beginners wedesigner and I am using Microsoft Frontpage with the last few decades. I know basic HTML and steps to make decent sites having Frontpage. For the top time I’ve been trying to get a decent map-reading bar up which stays put when you browse through various other pages. I was looking at other sites, and I found just what I’ve been wanting to create on that page. http: //www. bowserbasher. com/index. php The guy states he used Dreamweaver in addition to CSS and PHP. Fundamentally, it looks like he can edit just one page and the navigation bar will probably automatically be current onto every internet page of his site. So, my question is actually, how can WHEN I recreate what he has been done Can that be done by using Frontpage If another person could explain it in my opinion I’d be grateful. I’ve never applied CSS before so I needs to read some novice tutorials. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, -SuperBanjo To begin with, Frontpage is rubbish. It doesn’t (to my own knowledge) support CSS, and generates a variety of unnecessary code. So, my first suggestion will be to … Continue reading

enlarging image on mouse over

We have a page by using several pictures, several that over panel, on it. I am trying to get it so once you run your mouse spanning a picture it pertains the front and enalrges a little bit. When you clear away your mouse from that the picture extends back to it’s unique position and dimension. I tried repeating this with onmouseover in addition to layers in Frontpage2003 but it’s not at all working the way I would like. Any suggestions. Thank you. Your first hurdle would be to ditch FrontPage, completely. Then you will likely need to use javascript to complete what you are usually wanting. The onmouseover bit is often a step in the best direction, but using FP to perform it is two steps inside the wrong direction. Can it often be done in Frontpage in any respect The person that we am doing the idea for wanted it done in Frontpage so they can edit it in the foreseeable future. If no than what would you suggest I use for any user friendly application so they can edit it themselves after it is finished and still have the ability to accomplish what I will be trying … Continue reading

Internet Explorer Vs Firefox

I’m new to the forum & I really like online debates therefore I thought I might kick off my first post keeping this, I only simply downloaded firefox and i really like it, my vote stays in firefox and i will never go to come back! I mainly want it because it has tabbed browsing, its fast, includes tap out checking, you can easily add extra plugins & extensions! the use of firefox already, update to firefox 2 now, if you don’t have it yet, download it Exempt from: url=" http: //www. getfirefox. com/Firefox/url Which can you prefer please placed your vote & no problem your views… The only idea that bites is how firefox saves how do i hardisk. It doesn’t use the website’s title as its filename unlike internet explorer. Effectively, it uses your website location’s document name. That appears reasonable Firefox rubble, but so does Opera. And Konqueror/Safari. Really, just about just about every browser *except* IE bolders. Konqueror/Safari have a few pretty extensive assist for CSS3 types (like multi-column floor plans, multiple background images, border images, along with other awesome stuff including that). Firefox also possesses some limited support for a few of those. Opera’s lagging … Continue reading

Best Firefox add-ons

I made a summary of some cool Firefox add-ons. Most effective Firefox Add-ons Please list several Firefox add-ons you utilize. That you uncover quite cool. In addition try Google’s Online Accelerator. My network is quite slow and the item saves me around 2 hours every day and night of browsing. Firebug is admittedly handy. Firebug, hands-down. Second very useful to me: YSlow (http: //developer. bing. com/yslow/), which is truly a plugin for Firebug itself. Should you be having a difficulty in IE specifically without in Firefox, obtain the IE Developer Toolbar, which is kind of like Firebug for IE (http: //www. microsoft. com/downloads/… 4-672d-4511-bb3e-2d5e1db91038& displaylang=en). I use Opera to accomplish my general checking (side node: Opera Hyperlink in Opera BEING UNFAITHFUL. 5 beta is actually cool) but improvement in Firefox along with Firebug open near 100% of that time period.

Recommended Streaming Media Hosts

Can certainly anybody here recommend a fantastic host for surging media Preferably the one which handles Quicktime and/or Flash. With thanks Are you with a dedicated server or VPS You can install the growth version of Display Media Server for nothing with a confine of 10 simultaneous connections and also the complete lack of joy related to managing it. Otherwise, on any host, you can employ Microsoft Silverlight in order to just put the properly-encoded video over a web-accessible location to the server and utilize the Silverlight plugin in order to stream it throughout IE and Firefox. Most of us took a trial Microsoft 1080p online video media, put it on one of our production servers at the office, and streamed them. At 1080p. It had been awesome; too bad there’s no Silverlight for Opera nevertheless because it’s so much simpler to manage compared to Flash Media Host.
