liquid design & full screen text

Simply just wondering what various other design gurus think of using liquid design and having to deal with 1600×1200+ monitors in which make text span throughout the whole screen. Popular wisdom on the web design says that text should not span more compared to 4" wide from a column. Too difficult to read. I tend make use of liquid design on the majority of my sites because i’m keen on being able to take advantage of the whole screen. Sad to say, though, liquid design expresses that text will expand to fit the user’s filter, meaning you have got HUGE blocks regarding text that’s hard to read. Tips on how to guys work close to this Just style for 800×600 or perhaps 1024×768 and hope that individuals using 1600×1200 get good eyes Or perhaps there is some trick to making text break into multiple copy under higher file sizes I guess you may do this having js… Views I havent discovered this is generally there a link so i could read about this specific lol… Study up here: http: //www. webdesignforums. net/thread7769. html There’s a better way w/ js in making it 100% until x quantity of pixels have been … Continue reading

1024×768 or 800×600?

Hi there Everyone, I will be making my site soon. Do Need to design it with regard to 1024×768 or 800×600 Furthermore, I will more than likely be making this site in Pen. So does decision even matter then Imagine I decide to perform it in web coding Then what Sorry for your (probably obvious) questions. I just would like to plan it nicely before I set out to develop it. With thanks! Bonnie I would professionally design it in 8×6 precisely as it is still really the most used res that individuals use and horizontally scrolling isn’t liked much by web end users. Using flash in addition to HTML will still hold the same resolution problems, they will take up the same degree of visual space. You possibly can make liquid layouts with regard to websites using often CSS or tables whch could possibly solve your problems that… Thanks…. that is definitely what I essential! I appreciate your aid! Bonnie You need to use Liquid Design (in HTML), so no problems by any means!!! Use 800×600. I’ve that setting for two of my previous pcs. make liquid down to 740-760 px around width heigth is definitely automatic I remember … Continue reading

Web Safe Colors

What are the dangers of employing colors for web site design that arent ‘Web Safe’ Does it have to do with browsers I am talking about, do only old browsers must have colors that usually are ‘web safe’. Am I spending my time getting web safe colors to fit my site when it only benefits an extremely small percentage regarding people Furthermore, if I try a cholor scheme thats possibly not ‘web safe’ so how exactly does it appear with browsers that dont see made from correctly There’s no doubt that the ‘web-safe’ shapes and colours idea was created when some monitors only had that capability to show 256 colours. Given that most screens resolution can cope with 24-bit or more significant, I for one don’t follow the websafe principles. there are 216 web-safe colorations.. they were named that way because at lowest those common colors could be represented somewhat accuratly no matter what browser, monitor, THE GW990, etc.. your users viewing your website page are using. The one effect that would happen is all colors that are not websafe would display as a different color, generally the closest website safe color. People rules dont really apply much anymore.. i … Continue reading

100% Stretch Or Not

Hi Im from a dialema the present site im implementing looks good yet is smallish upon screen, nearly every one of the sites i discover are set to 100% so they really fill the enitre screen but i feel this would leave a huge gap of unused space for the one im implementing and remove through the visual effects. Can a site sized at 750 * 550 centralised vertically and also horizontally still look as good as a site which fills up the whole screen sure…. there are sooooo many sites to choose from that have the width of 720-ish simply check the thumbnails upon www. cssvault. com I ment vertically definitely not horizontally my site is going 725 by 600 but i dont need to really stretch it being full length of a users screen because i believe it will leave lots of empty space but im confused if not possessing it 100% throughout length will detract from the site. also… hmmmm… i’m personnaly not too fond of site that will not span 100% length. i feel like i’m inside a tiny box, especially once i view it having my 21inch with 1600×1200 res. although that’s just us Is … Continue reading

1,024 by 768

I’m doing site targeted towards people who likely have a respectable amount of computer expertise. Is it reasonable that is expected them to have a 1, 024 times 768 minimum resolution, or should WE still assume 900 x 600 Given as well as involves phototography, I can make it way better with a higher canvas. When they have computer expertise I’d say they’d be at 1024*768 at least. Decided! Experienced computer people, in my practical experience, tend to perform at above 1024 x 768. Likewise, basically every computer you go and buy brand-new from PC World or the like have monitors which are automatically on 1024 by 768, and most persons either don’t discover how to, or can’t be bothered to transform it. Thus yeah, I’d assume that the majority of people use 1024 back button 768! Well I consider any assumption you make should be a very dangerous you. Though most persons work at 1024 times 768 atleast you can actually create one to get 800 x 600 after which another version pertaining to 1024 x 768 and also higher. Just be aware web design is really a dangerous place for you to assume anything. I would foundation the … Continue reading

Differnet size monitors

Next time i created my internet site, I only filled the middle 75% of this screen. I just put a fantastic background in the actual outer 12. 5 % along with the other 12. 5%. I was kind of uneasy because I work with a 19 inch monitor and I had been worried about folks that may have small monitors. I type of followed the types of bankrate. com plus msn. com (they only create a savings fund middle of this screen). What is the secret for designing for multple observe sizes What will i need to look out for For exmaple MY SPOUSE AND I noticed that if you ever pull up an affiliate site like Ebay, it perfectly suits the screen no matter what size monitor you could have. Thanks for the info Carl Many sites are design for the lowest common resolution and that is 800 * 800. In that case, you will want your site becoming a fixed width with around 770px. Depending on ones audience you may want to throw away in which resolution and select the next size up which is 1024 * 768. Usual case the width within your site would often be … Continue reading

New here – and in need!

Hello, I maintain a web site site for any local not-for-profit and you’ll find a problem by using one page we cannot seem to mend. The page will likely be maintained in dreamweaver (not guaranteed if that matters) and is particularly primarily composed making use of one big desk with smaller tables inside that. Until recently, that’s worked really well to hold everything where it ought to be. However, we now are experiencing issues with blocks of text overlapping so every little thing seems squished all the way through, and is unreadable. As the same page has been in use for many years, I’ve experimented with scrapping it along with starting over, reducing may be tables used, but it’s actually not improved. Has anyone else experienced this challenge Is there your fix Oh – page isn’t going to have this display issue for anyone — only with some monitors. I have tried it at 4 different screens (3 pc, one mac) and only find the problem on 1 from the 4. Really interested in a solution. this page may be the money maker to the organization. Thanks a ton! A handful of things: stay faraway from tables. go to DIVs … Continue reading

How do you cope with screen calibration ?

Hello, Every once in awhile I like that will tweak CSS and do web page design for my individual use. Today WE play around along with my Tumblr weblog. I did this kind of on my Macbook Pro and be sure that my PC. laptop both screen are usually pretty different along with my MBP renders a yellowish tint i quite like hard gives a form of sepia feeling. Not so I got your blueish tint in my glossy COMPUTER laptop screen. Find out how to actually cope along with that Thanks a ton very much for ones advice Correct… That’s a toughie. Basically you can not really deal with that in any respect, except by experimenting with all the color and then using user factor sniffing to serve a new color to distinct platforms. And possibly then, you’ll realize that (admittedly less drastic) differences will occur just between monitors. There exists alpha calibration to get Windows computers, but people not often use that because it’s actually not automated, and for that reason a hassle to get users. Regardless, you’re sort connected with SOL, I’m fearful: -\ Getting colors to match is hard, you just want to do the best … Continue reading

Isn’t there a code which will fit the site to the screen size on the browser Something such as width=100% or absolute My organization is not sure, are you able to tell me exact directions how I’ll distribute it in order to my site. There are usually some mootools, jsquery form of animations for web sites. Like that: http: //www. sitepoint. com/examples/jquery/animate4. php There exists a problem with doing such as that… It’s not necessary to want your pages to get just images. You choose actual text content material. Using graphic images for ones text causes search results problems. Thus, I would say don’t use anything that requires that kind of coding, as a substitute, go for a new plain website having " prev" " next" web site navigation. Create a fine background template which they can use for each internet … Continue reading
