Fonts

I wanted to find out what are typical web fonts that people can use to ensure everyone can find them…. Also what are most popular fonts to use, best looking etc Will be font that is needed here at WDF I always desired to find this out there. heheheh the font used here’s Trebuchet MS i recently found this though searching google… it may help – http: //www. accordmarketing. com/tid/archive/websafefonts. html document useful url, bookmarked. Nice! An outstanding article, Karianne, thanks. So to jbagley: this article and this thread (so far) talk about system fonts, and you could program them with your styles (note in which in html you may as well describe a font because " serif" or " sans serif" ). Although, when it reaches graphics, you have even more options to select. Similar rules of shapes are applicable in your graphics. It really varies according to the mood of the site you tend to be creatign. Typography can be a huge field! Some fonts I know people like to get graphics / nav night clubs… Sans serif… Futura, Gill Sans, Multitude, Tahoma. Serif… U . s citizens Typewriter, Garamond, Bookman Old Style.

Microsoft enters the design market!

Men and women have always said it will eventually happen one of these brilliant days, well… it did. Microsoft have announced its new graphics iphone app called Acrylic. http: //www. microsoft. com/products/expression/ Take a look. I have had an exceptionally very quick engage in, and it’s not that bad. It’s only within beta so get it and see what you think. REPLACE: Read http: //www. bd4d. com/blog/p=50 for those more info plus an opinion coming from a good designer who has given it the test run already. I doubt it provides a large impact on the design area. There are strategy to many *die-hard* Adobe fans around to compete having. Exactly… Photoshop rules the structure world, just much like the Playstation. When the XBOX became available, the PS2 profits were still double that of XBOX LIVE. Acrylic will not become near when popular as Illustrator has ever been. Could they oftentimes make an interface any longer ugly Yes. I think they will have plenty of changes before the idea hits the stores but I think it provides more of an effect on the industry then consumers are anticipating. It’s Microsoft in the end and it some people didn’t think it … Continue reading

Graphical Abilities

Howdy, Good here it should go, I am fantastic coder, I know and may recite code pertaining to HTML, CSS, PHP, MySql, C, C++, C#, Rex, Essential, Java, and VB. I have been recently taking Coding tuition and certification courses for some time now. The problem, well in doing this I think I position the switch in the suitable side of mental to ‘off’. My question goes out to the graphical pattern people here, what’s the simplest way to " sprout" one’s graphical abilities I’m attempting to expand my resourcefulness and just in search of information. Thanks. You just need to start practicing. Try tutorials or just simply play around. It’s like paiting or any kind of art wherein you can’t get better via just reading about it – you’ll want to do it also. Yea POST agree, I consider that’s my largest problem. I hardly understand that concept, I learned everything I understand by reading consequently it’s wierd. Me personally too! But I am getting there. The simplest way for me was tutorials provided with programs such as Photoshop CS or maybe Macromedia Fireworks; it all depends upon the program you want to use as very well because graphic … Continue reading

Qualifications

Firstly I know this question may be asked many times and nobody features ever seemed to generate any sort of answer that i feel has been any sort of help so I’m planning to ask again. Im leaving college in July and currently contemplating my options for further education in great britain. Im looking to be a PHP developer and want to find out what sort regarding qualifications employers are seeking. Ive looked around the Connexions website ( The particular Carrers adivsors) with this page http: //www. connexions-direct. com/jo… catalogueContentID=110& render=detailedArticle and they mention HNDs/HNCs but to not ever any specifics will anyone have just about any ideas which these can be. I find that in such a industry with the multitude of experience and the best portfolio often trumps accreditation like NVQ’s. If you need to get go straight down the education route then a university course on computer science, graphic design etc goes long. Such courses allow you to build your portfolio, get work practical experience and ultimately provide you with a degree which in turn some large agencies prefer.

Advertising

There are a multitude of ways to advertise online and I had been wondering if anybody has had any experience considering the " free" marketing and advertising. Does it really work which is it worth enough time spent Thank you in advance I’m undecided what " free" signifies. I’ve used Google Adsense for a couple of years now, in addition to it works good. I don’t earn a living off of that, but it pays for my web hosting service. I get regarding $350 – $450 a year… eventually ends up being about 3-4 checks on a yearly basis. They send the check once the balance hits $100+ Of course everything depends over the internet page traffic plus the demographics of who outings and how interested they are in the adsense buttons. Don’t believe you can simply slap-up a page and earn a living. It takes do the job. Design Layout, Resolution and Display Size

Good day All, I am hoping I’m calling the topic by their correct jargon. We are building a based fixed width layout but We are confused about pixels. Didn’t think We were, but the much more I read the more confused I acquire. diyhomesavvy. com I started which includes a wrapper width associated with 1000px, but that seemed to small so WHEN I increased it for you to 1200px wide. Then I commenced getting worried so it would cause some individuals to have that will scroll right–it appears much larger upon IE 8 then it can on FF THREE. 0. 7–so MY SPOUSE AND I started investigated browser/screen quality etc. I thought I had a grasp with it until… I looked at a couple of my favorite blogs and one appears bigger visually on screen but based on firebug is really 300px less large than mine. How are many people doing this I would really prefer to get mine back down to a smaller width but have it appear larger too. May anyone help us with this Thanks a great deal of In regards in order to what size to put it, I will be suggesting just below 1000pix. The … Continue reading

Who’s at Fault? Designer vs Client dispute, interested in your opinions

Hello there, A recent dispute came up of which made me wonder who is really in a bad here and MY SPOUSE AND I thought who better to ask for feedback/opinions/poll than your community of colleagues here. Recently I’d some trouble obtaining the Featured Content Gallery to operate on my internet site. I hired any designer, who should remain anonymous, that said he might troubleshoot it throughout 30 mins. Superb. It worked. Then again, it seems the missing closing DIV tag made the positioning look messed way up in Internet Explorer (the diminishing text problem this others have had) as well as from about 6am Friday morning to virtually 6am Saturday morning, the site had been unviewable by IE people. This was particularly tragic as this is the one day with the year that WHEN I go all out and purchase over a multitude of dollars of newspapers advertising and 80% with my visitors had been on IE. I can let you know that I’ve lost a lot of traffic and capital on Friday which usually won’t repeat right up until next Valentines day time. Yes, total deprivation, more than total loss actually. I was working on wanting to make … Continue reading

Jquery image gallery – print image? How?

Hello there, definitely picking several brains here! I’m aiming to create a web browser based picture viewer to perform on IIS on my friends machine. i have discovered Jquery plugins, including Galleria. This is new to me but hey, exactly what isn’t This question is: can these galleries be modified to allow a print facility i’d ideally like to print full sized image stored within the hard drive that corresponds into the one being considered. Thanks, Lol In theory, yes, but it would take with the multitude of JQuery and CSS. Concerning not, however, tried this myself. So this really is an educated reckon. What I’m sure you would do is something like this: Code: < div id=" screen-photo" class=" screen-only" > SEVENTY TWO DPI image right here. < /div> < div id=" print-photo" class=" print-only" > 300 DPI or higher resolution image below. < /div> Then your tv screen CSS would look something such as this: Code: div. print-only display: none; Then your art print CSS would look something such as this: Code: div. screen-only display: none; Again, this is the guess. You’ll have for you to guess yourself most likely and experiment until you have it right. It’s … Continue reading
