Creating photograph portfolio site 4 friend

An associate has asked me to generate him a site to indicate off his profile of photographs. My first notion was a flash site would be cool, but We have no experience with Flash. I can style a pretty fine looking one while using the languages that I know (XHTML, PHP, XML, CSS… all that good stuff, though I’m ready and ready to learn more). Nonetheless, on main problem I have is what am i allowed to use to make it so that all he has to do is actually upload his pictures with a folder on this server, and the website do the rest. I’ve seen JSP make it happen, but first, if that is the best thing to utilize, where would be one of the best place to study it. Second, would I have to have a server, or can coursesmart be hosted somewhere else. Any design idea would be welcome, too. Thanks earlier. Alternitavely, I used to be also considering with a CMS (Content Managemant System) similar to Mambo, and host it in the compatible provider. What looks good? What looks bad? What needs to be added?

I’m just in search of people’s opinions on this site layout i’m trying construct… Please give me a notion of what you think works, what fails and what may finish it. Many thanks I much like the logo, especially that circles. The photo in the panther (not an enormous cat expert myself) seems to be stretched and never relates to the mountain for the top. I think the cat theme works greater than the mountainous gardening, considering the logo design. I’d align that navigation. It looks better and it’s less of a challenge to program. Utilize a dark grey for any font, because the black seems a little harsh, and probably utilize a different font deal with. I’d go Verdana or maybe Georgia, but POST always use those two. Either approach, they’re both better than Times Innovative Roman. See about integrating the green in the logo instead in the blue.

Hi, im making a gaming website and My business is viewing alot of these to get a notion of what for making, and im seeing that the web designers are using tables to format everything. Should I do Identical thing No you should employ divs instead It really varies according to what gaming sites you are seeing. Yes, there are tons of tables on the market, but those are often outdated designs. Divs are the way to go, but it also varies according to your skill degree and what you’re feeling comfortable with……… i believe, I don’t work with tables……. but you will need to go with what you’re feeling most comfortable together with. Enjoy…… I would reckon that tables would be easier for me because im rather than familiar with divs. Tables i’ve been using for an extended time. Ok, I don’t necessarily mean to stress listen to but I wish people would tell use semantic html as opposed to divs. It gives many new people in order to CSS the impression that you choose and throw divs everywhere regardless of what the element. \rant, Sorry becoming a purist I’d personally disagree here. Great idea but no idea what im doing

Hi everyone. I am particularly new to website design; I only realize very basic HTML CODE. Well the dilemma is I enjoy a complicated idea and i do not know where to begin, so i thought i’d personally post in the getting started section. So i guess i may layout my notion here. Okay, so basically I’m setting up a rating site for your game that MY PARTNER AND I play. In this sport players can battle both. What i wish to happen is personally to able to collect these wins and losses to ensure that people can see who will be the best along at the game. On this site I’d like to see people to register and have their unique accounts to being able to log on as well as see their present-day ratings. I also want to set certain peoples accounts to an admin status just for them to moderate the web-site. No scroll 800 X 600 – even possible?!

Greetings all. Here’s my own problem: I’m making the fresh site for my personal church. The man who is essentially directing me informs me that he wants it to fit into an 800 X 600 res minus the window scrolling. He wants the nav for the screen at all times, and he desires a scrolling box to the content. I’ve been enjoyable the man for a little bit with the notion because he would seem really adamant about this, but now Now i’m thinking that it’s more or less impossible. I think just about any normal user of the site will probably have 768 X 1024 as a minimum, so I wish to throw away EIGHT HUNDRED X 600. Can it be just me, or are his goals with this layout unrealistic Looking at the max dimensions at 800 BACK BUTTON 600, the site must fit into some sort of 770 X 430 px common box! Therefore, any idea what I should do or tell him I must mention that dropping him is just not an option. Idea’s & opinions on layout please. [Updated]

I much prefer development to style and design is just not exactly my strong suit. This however is my work for balance making a fresh homepage. For the past few months clients have visit me via word of mouth. I am starting to possess a lull throughout projects so there’s no doubt that its time i create web presence for myself. During this layout i made my paragraphs first, i then performed around with size, placement and formatting, next i started to fill in the background. Finally i added a portfolio image but it was done. Here is the first time we’ve tried to design a website this way. What do people think of this design. what program should i use

hi im only starting designing webpages. I have developed a design for my client we showed her. I recently made it around photoshop. Im slightly unsure of how to know what program to style the actual page in i’d like to use many flash and web coding. However my layout can be a graphic box which i have made in place. I need my links and details to go ott of this common box, however layers dont work nicely in dreamweaver. Should i create the box design in p’shop In that case import into often flash or DW simply things is layers dont prosper in DW along with i’m not sure learn to get links in flash i will email someone the theory and maybe they might tell me what programs to work with. We now have just begun designing some websites and since we print out our designs for our web developers to create this sites we thought that it might be handy if there seemed to be a rule/ruler that will measures Pixels to assist them. Does any one else think this may be a good idea Will there be one already available Would any web designs choose a ruler that options Pixels handy whenever they are designing his or her websites : vintage: Well, I don’t believe one exists, just because a pixel is an unit that exists only as part of your computer. It machines accordingly to paper. What I do is utilize a special template. I’ve made a strong image containing your blank space which has a complete ruler around it, plus many extras like " that 760px mark" in addition to " average early screen height".
