Totally new, some aadvice needed…
Hi. I would prefer to create a site which displays versions of military aircraft i and a handful of friends build. Id like to be able to post pictures of in depth intructions, a concept board and incorporate some fancy background objects and sounds. Now I know beside nothin but am fairly good by using my laptop and sooo want to tackle this myyself. What does one folks recommend WHEN I heard Dreamweaver is a program to work with, but I wouldnt know how. Is a reserve recommended Just about any help, please…. EJ I’ve learnt basic principles from both a new book and online. Get down your local library and grab a " newcomers guide".. i used " learning net design" by Jennifer Niederst along with the idiots guide for you to DM.. I purchased the basics just a day or a pair of. Hi there, this reveals a bit delayed to post some sort of reply, this has already been mid April, maybe you have already picked up plenty of ideas in in between. Exactly like you, in the commencing I knew close to nothing about building an internet site ., but now I have one personal site … Continue reading
Width of content area
Each time a site has some sort of fixed-width content area that is definitely centered in the particular browser window, will be optimal width of their area I know this is mostly a matter connected with opinion, but I’m curious what individuals think. For instance, check out http: //www. mcsweeneys. net/, which is just about the narrowest I’ve found. And there’s this url, which has your pretty wide subject matter area. I’m trying to decide on that width of my personal internet site, which is the following: http: //nocloset. net/. At the moment it’s set on 551px. Any opinions can be welcome. Trouble with a fixed-width content area is, even when it looks ultra-wide to help someone on 800×600 res, someone with 1280×1024 (or, the almighty forbid, 1600×1200) can think it’s tiny. This is exactly why even in these cases it becomes good to look at a percentage. Your first example, I do think, is far far too narrow — excessive scrolling for me. Your second model isn’t linked in. Your site is seen as a little wider, I do think. My second model was literally this url (webdesignforums. net)! These have a fixed width for that content area that … Continue reading
My favorite method
I’m a big fan in the Macromedia suite, on the other hand, if you are only starting out, don’t let that tutorials trick everyone into creating a image-heavy site with fireworks. It took me a time to evolve directly into low images along with CSS. CSS could be the way of the long run. I like Dreamweaver to get editing, even even though I simply kind out the signal myself. It permits me easily swap between code and also design views. Look into my sites: JD Styles – http: //www. j-ddesigns. com – this is my business site JD Property – http: //jdhome. 125mb. com/ – this is my personal web-site (mainly photos) Both of the use CSS to perform all the do the job. Ok , i’ll know what you think and any testimonials on style / formation / etc. I’m keen on the look of one’s personal site, but it’s interesting that you say you’ve evolved into low photographs. On your backlinks page, even that empty boxes will be images. Why not just set a background-color style Overall, though, I think how we are using CSS along with divs on both of your sites instead involving tables is … Continue reading

Content needed
Hello there I’m designing a personal site for me personally and I’m seeking my homepage to have more content than what I have on it cuz this looks empty. I was wondering if there seems to be a way where I can get I suppose PHP coding to include in my site where it could display the latest news happening around the globe. I hope this pays as I’m positive I’m not when using the correct terminology, but hopefully MY PARTNER AND I explained myself plenty of to where you possibly can understand. Thanks forward. Well you can do a find " php announcement feeds" if you intend to go down this PHP route. Likewise, filburt1 posted this specific http: //webdesignforums. net/coding_134/make_an_ubercool_news_script_stepbystep_4351. html Desire this helps.

Should my site be more focused
My organization is currently on overhaul 3, i ‘m new to webdesign and also version 1 seemed to be basic, version 2 kicked it more in a very web design path. Now Version 3 might be close to completing the many content i want in buying it. My idea could be to have 3 pieces to my web-site, part is for web site design, part will contain tutorials as well as other resources and the final part will employ a blog. I’m kinda thinking this tends to easily become a new jumbled mess. Should i look into each part and possess a different site per one Or put them together but as that they usually are separate from each other Put all together. If you necessarily mean the part pertaining to web design to become a business, then don’t put all together. You wouldn’t decide to put tutorials and resources with a business site until they pertained by some service that your customers used solely from you. I guess businesses might have blogs though and keep people updated upon whatever goings-on might be going on. But if that is all just a personal hobby site, you could start to make … Continue reading

Fear of getting in the trap!!
Hi there all, I’ve a small query: I am the owner of my web site, but this website have been developed by a web-desing company who provide web-hosting. The question is, how could i rely on the corporation after the site design has become completed and I will be getting orders Are usually owner of online hosting company which in turn hosts my site ( which can be the same company which actuyally developed it ) only shuts down my own business and tells me: OK, Matteo, unless you give me US$10000 I’ll not open back your site Do you find it technicall possible or perhaps am I small bit paranoid Following your site is finished, how can MY PARTNER AND I legally claim any kind of right over my personal site Matteo If someone makes a website for you, you must automatically own coursesmart and all copyrights when it’s complete. In case you went into an agreement where you will not own all copyrights, you still have screwed. What are they going to do with the site anyway You must also have all belonging to the files that the site uses stored from a safe location (on the CD … Continue reading

3D Designs
I am quite new an internet design, but I’m looking to assume to another amount. Specifically, I desire to bring some bit of a 3-dimensionality to my personal sites. Specifically, I’m interested in applying fill gradients and shadows behind dining tables. I have many questions, but primarily, is the only way to do this through the use of images I have researched a bit about using slivers to build fill gradients, but have experienced little luck tugging it off. I also wonder if it can be easier to just create a full image with a gradient after which just specify the height/width belonging to the table cell. I appreciate any help the more experienced web-designers out there usually provide. For the reason that CSS doesn’t yet support gradients or even drop shadows totally, you need to utilize images. Good to find out. As a consequence, these images really should be static, right Such as, a table that has a shadow box behind it could possibly not be coded in order that the table evolves as dynamic facts is dumped towards it. Unless, not surprisingly, the code imported a different image to make up. Does that seem correct You do not … Continue reading
