Different processing speeds
definitely, I’m making a new flash site (well, hoping to). However, it runs slow and also the animations are choppy once i view the swf report on my computer, a 450mhz (cringe). nonetheless on my brother’s laptop or computer, a 1. 8ghz, all runs smoothly. my question is: will there be any way to try the design for different processing speeds perhaps there is any special applications or sites many thanks You can always use something similar to VMware which can emulate a complete computer (naturally with a much slower speed than your special system). You should think about 3 factors throughout designing flash internet sites: : Higher frame fees will bog lower older computers which can’t process these folks well… Default rate is set to 12 FPS… I never go over TWENTY FOUR if I aren’t required to. : Essentially, how many pixels have you been changing in just about any given frame inside your animation If every pixel for the screen has for you to change, the processor needs to account for that will… if only 10% of the screen is adjusting in any granted frame, that’s 1/10th in the required processing. Also, if your web-site scales, it … Continue reading

1024×768 and 800×600 question
WE made my initial site… just starting to read this stuff! The deal is while i view it applying 1024×768 it seems to be great…. but merely switch to 800×600 it has the terrible! Everything is huge and you must scroll forever to check out things. I used fireworks to try and do the graphics and dreamweaver that will put it together…… anything I could do to ensure it is look good in both resolutions Furthermore… if I’m designing my site applying fireworks then slicing it as long as export to dreamweaver… just what exactly good canvas size align it to formerly Thanks for every help or source! Design it to ensure the site is not bigger than related to 769 pixels, to ensure it fits in every resolutions, or nonetheless, you could create a ‘liquid’ design. In case you make your web-site 780 pixels extensive, it will cover bulk of the screen with 800×600, and still look great on larger file sizes. Most likely your site is too vast and thats the condition. You’ll need to produce it narrower. Another angle taking when designing sites would be to make them 100% thicker, but that can get confusing sometimes. Everyone. … Continue reading
100% Stretch Or Not
Hi Im from a dialema the present site im implementing looks good yet is smallish upon screen, nearly every one of the sites i discover are set to 100% so they really fill the enitre screen but i feel this would leave a huge gap of unused space for the one im implementing and remove through the visual effects. Can a site sized at 750 * 550 centralised vertically and also horizontally still look as good as a site which fills up the whole screen sure…. there are sooooo many sites to choose from that have the width of 720-ish simply check the thumbnails upon www. cssvault. com I ment vertically definitely not horizontally my site is going 725 by 600 but i dont need to really stretch it being full length of a users screen because i believe it will leave lots of empty space but im confused if not possessing it 100% throughout length will detract from the site. also… hmmmm… i’m personnaly not too fond of site that will not span 100% length. i feel like i’m inside a tiny box, especially once i view it having my 21inch with 1600×1200 res. although that’s just us Is … Continue reading

Mystery Meat!!
ARGH!! This great site is one in order to behold, it actually took me more than a year to learn how to get past the next page. I 1st visited it after I saw these guys live… astounding band, terrible blog. Now I finally got past your blank page, however to no apply for… it only becomes worse http: //www. dredg. com i figured it away in seconds, but yes it is a really stupid webpage. http: //www. dredg. com/home. html Seriously!! That’s what WHEN I call USABLE web design! Kinda appears the inside of your toilet after a night of power-drinking using the guys to me personally. I dunno though. I’m still partial towards the MMN found in this article: http: //www. v-c-v. com You have to watch the intro primary, then go throughout. (By the approach, that song while in the intro has a way cool guitar riff. Anyone know what exactly it is) www. dredg. com has my vote; atleast V-C-V is readable. I guess that is certainly Canadian terminology for just a piss-up… LOL… I like it! Sometimes art surpasses the requirement for usability Plus sometimes murder can be justified. If the Metro Toronto Police won’t … Continue reading

Screen Resolutions
Concerning been browsing around trying to see surveys about precisely what screen resolution is the most used. But most of the surveys are often 2003 or 2004. What resolution would you think I should make a website, 800 simply by 600 or 1024 by means of 768 1024 times 768. It will be most common resolution. I think all over 25% of users browse in 900 x 600 as well as about 65% employ 1024 x 768. Nevertheless, it would possibly be best to target good usability through all resolutions, even approximately 1280 x 1024! It really is determined by what the site is perfect for also. I’m sure you can find threads around the forum relating to this topic that one could search for, thus I won’t fancy. It’s tempting to be able to drop 800 x 600 but I wouldn’t get it done quite yet as world wide there are however a fair lots of people still utilizing it. I reckon after some duration should see it all but gone yet by then we might need to placed more consideration directly into portable devices than we do at this point. You really can design for many resolutions. Instead … Continue reading

So I can code fine, but what about design?
MY PARTNER AND I guess I’m definitely not that creative people, or at minimum my innate creativity wasn’t fully realised just simply yet. Y’see, I will code a site not a problem. The problem arises with building a site look great. At the moment I have a new plain HTML page that has a small header. It’s simply a glossy black gradient having an outer glow, but I can’t visualize how to take it further. This happens a whole lot. The other issue is moving away from what I time period, ‘The CSS Look’: the theory that is angular, includes 1 pixel is bordered by around everything in addition to basic background shades, and generally seems like it’s been made by someone whom hasn’t really experimented. Pimp That Snack will be the prime example. Using other web pages for inspiration is hard because I don’t want a site to look too derivative connected with others. I don’t want something what a blatant copy regarding another popular site. Hence, I have the ambitions and my own ideas, but no skill for getting good results. I know I’m not alone who is such as this (or at least Lets hope so), but … Continue reading

Hello, The layout i’m implementing is located from http: //www. eliswebdesign. com/reeb. I’m having difficulties with the shaddow surrounding the content area. It’s now fine within IE and Firefox, but opera not so well. I messed a bunch in an attempt to get it to check good in IE as it is so popular and had for you to sacrafice the looks in Opera. The index page may be the only page i’m concerned with right now. There was your slight problem when using the centering in IE previous to i added another div which has a z-index of -1 which doesn’t show up in firefox but IE means that you can set left and right to auto but Opera won’t. Can someone remember to help me learn how to have the shadow work. Oh Yah and i’m sorry my style linen is http: //www. eliswebdesign. com/reeb/style. css. -thanks It’s actually off by one pixel in IE6 in the process.. was this the same problem in Opera Really, I think i’m just likely to start using dreamweaver. I think i’ll remedy a repair so there is a one pixel clip with IE but that’s only when the content doesn’t fit … Continue reading
