hi my organization is veryyyyyyy new to web design. I only understand how to do a handful of simple tasks inside dreamweaver like come up with a layer and embed a pic into that layer. but that is one thing i desperatley requirement my site. Member accounts for all users that register. just like during this site. I would like users kid make their unique accounts with very simple profiles and stuff like this for my concept board. so if everyone could give myself some begginers directions or point me out to somewhat of a web site which includes a guide on which or something i might REALLY appreciate the item. thanks Your current really off upon where you placed this. I will be trying to put an upload that will my site. I want people every single child upload images that will my site. There has to be anyone that will give me a hand with this. I have tested out different things however I still find errors. Please support me. Jason You will need to set up a upload script applying PHP or ASP or other server-side language. I suggest that you discover what languages your node supports and do research online for an upload script for this language (ASP necessitates installation or using a DLL). And then, if you have questions regarding the script, post them for the appropriate forum (ASP or perhaps PHP, etc).

making updates (and life) easier

Hi there everyone, My question pertains to making it less difficult to update this site. The website that I’ve got running is at www. 1000words. net – it shows a different photo and essay to the ‘front’ page each day. It involves me editing the primary page, the gallery page also , the page individual to that submission. I complete these changes manually. Hence, the updating method is quite primative and I want to get a more easier or automated solution to do it. Compared, for instance, there is the Mirror Project on www. mirrorproject. com – the technique used to navigate is akin to what I’m seeking since it shows a picture plus corresponding text for you to each ‘page. Which Server-Side language ?

I’m trying to decide which language is best for server-side digesting. My prefernce is actually toward PHP, although in fairness, I have not used a large number of. Listed below are the contenders: PHP CGI — C / C++ CGI — Perl CGI — Other JSP ASP — Visual Basic ASP — Perl Script ASP — Other Langauge Cool Fusion Sorry If i have left away any, there very hard maintain with. Feel free that include any write throughout votes. This will depend on the application. Every language has its ups and downs. My favorites are PHP and JSP. WHEN I haven’t tried ASP as well as ColdFusion yet. ASP with luck. I can’t get enough of that VB! My business is trying to study JSP now. It looks very difficult but I believe that it is worth learning because I do believe all Java based languages need to be rougly the similar, and anymore you will get away from finding out Java. Need some help.

I’ve a problem, I want to be able to have news with my front page, but I don’t wish to have to format and also archive it personally. I also want to be able to use my MICROSOFT frontpage shared borders about it. Anyone have any ideas (An example of what I want are available here. Ook, a person’s link crashed my personal browser, and My browsers, including this download. For not doing it manually….. I’m guessing an individual mean by certainly not actually typing the html for every news post, and moving this older news on the archive. The fastest way I can think about doing this is thru PHP or even perl, or an additional server-side language. And either integrate that has a forum (the main forum softwares have newsportals, which cause it to way easier), but in case you dont need a forum with your site, this isnt needed. You could check into phpnuke, or something along those lines in case you dont want to be able to code the backend oneself.
