Can a site sized at 750 * 550 centralised vertically and also horizontally still look as good as a site which fills up the whole screen sure…. there are sooooo many sites to choose from that have the width of 720-ish simply check the thumbnails upon www. cssvault. com I ment vertically definitely not horizontally my site is going 725 by 600 but i dont need to really stretch it being full length of a users screen because i believe it will leave lots of empty space but im confused if not possessing it 100% throughout length will detract from the site. also… hmmmm… i’m personnaly not too fond of site that will not span 100% length. i feel like i’m inside a tiny box, especially once i view it having my 21inch with 1600×1200 res. although that’s just us Is … Continue reading

And to include in justlivyalife’s reply… to help eliminate the random world box around the thumbnail connection, add the: border=" 0" for the img tag. The alt property is for a tool-tip outline. < your href=" bigimage. jpg" > < img src=" thumbnailimage. jpg" width=" 100px" height=" 100px" border=" 0" alt=" this description" > < /a> If your code will be xHTML compatible, make … Continue reading

Control Users Window

Hi I’ve a gallery beautifully made with thumbnails in the most common manner. When an individual ‘clicks’ a thumbnail a brand new page opens considering the image at it’s full size. I currently open the fresh window and center it on the page concurrently as making it has the size fit the image exactly. What I’d like to know is if this is certainly bad practice. I am aware that most people hate pop-up windows appearing edited in particular ways i. electronic auto maximised. However I feel in my example its accetpable. What don’t you think Any comments could be appreciated. For accessibility, best practise is usually to have the pop-up top left of the screen as the user will normally go through left to right, top to base. Someone with poor eyesight would possibly not notice the pop-up if it suddenly appears from the center when they may be expecting it top left. Some users adjust the text size for their browser, and then raise the window size if it doesn’t fit. Make sure your current window will in good shape the contents in the event the text size is increased, or allow users to modify the window dimension. … Continue reading

Creating photograph portfolio site 4 friend

An associate has asked me to generate him a site to indicate off his profile of photographs. My first notion was a flash site would be cool, but We have no experience with Flash. I can style a pretty fine looking one while using the languages that I know (XHTML, PHP, XML, CSS… all that good stuff, though I’m ready and ready to learn more). Nonetheless, on main problem I have is what am i allowed to use to make it so that all he has to do is actually upload his pictures with a folder on this server, and the website do the rest. I’ve seen JSP make it happen, but first, if that is the best thing to utilize, where would be one of the best place to study it. Second, would I have to have a server, or can coursesmart be hosted somewhere else. Any design idea would be welcome, too. Thanks earlier. Alternitavely, I used to be also considering with a CMS (Content Managemant System) similar to Mambo, and host it in the compatible provider. I’ve had adequate experience with Mambo and therefore set it up, but would this be the most beneficial idea The upload … Continue reading

mass-producing image galleries with navigation

Hi there! I’ve got a bit problem here and I’m hoping to make use of the computer’s mind to take many of the work out of it to me. I’m building a site that will include things like over 100 image galleries. Each gallery is made up of 10 pictures. Each picture will be same size throughout pixels. I’ve sorted out some software that auto-generates html for an image gallery, but they don’t have any any navigation and appear generic. Is there some way I’ll rapidly churn out and about 100 galleries employing dreamweaver templates Or maybe there exists a better program to generate galleries from images. Almost any advice is liked. Write now I’ve a little above 3000+ images what is going on about 20, I’m sure, galleries. The easiest strategy to do it There’s no doubt that is to store all of it in a database then create the article. Drop me a line by going to some help. For instance lesleint said… start using a database like MySQL. Likewise, find out if your webhost allows ImageMagick. Along with ImageMagick, you just have to have to upload the particular full-size images. I’M then automatically generates " real thumbs" … Continue reading
