"safe dimensions" when designing for 1024+ res?
Howdy guys, I understand the accepted standard now, which caters to help 800 x NINE HUNDRED screens, is 740 times 460 But from a variety of polls etc on my site Truly determined that the majority my audience reaches 1024 + So I figure, why not design for your and make real estate. But I didn’t been able to get the " 740 x 460" formula for any 1024 res design. Is there a similar rule of thumb size for creating for 1024 resolution Thanks earlier! Best regards, Jarrett To are the reason for the width with any resolution, subtract about 20 pixels for any scrollbar’s width. Calculating the height is a little more difficult, because that depends upon the browser that visitor is applying, and how many toolbars they’ve. Whether they are choosing large icons and also small icons, contain the " Links" bar showing or when they have downloaded 1 / 3 party toolbar such as the Google toolbar will all make a difference. I’d allow several hundred pixels intended for these toolbars. Nonetheless, it’s not the completed of the world if you are page scrolls vertically, which is expected. POST second spluff’s tip.. However one factor that … Continue reading →

Issues with different screen resolutions
Howdy guys, A couple of things…. ONE PARTICULAR. Just been focusing on this – http: //www. bass-reflex. net/ttepsnoad/ – and on on the list of school computers it’s apparently listed all askew with IE6. The photostrip to the right is overlapping the actual blue footer and also obscuring the contact details inside the footer. Laptop has it’s display screen resolution set in order to 1280 x 1024 px. I’ve tried replicating the item on other computers with the same screen res but can’t have it to happen. Although We have got IE7 fitted everywhere. … in addition to… A COUPLE OF. When the internet site is viewed throughout different screen file sizes, different browsers or perhaps without certain toolbars, for example, there is your white ‘gap’ at the end due to the background I’m utilizing… My question here is would there be any route to make everything under the footer display because same light random world background colour I suppose I could just use a typical background colour as opposed to the background image but I’m keen on the shadow result it allows me to set-up. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thankyou so much in advance!!: exhausted: I identified … Continue reading →

Ediable textarea
I cannot learn how to make a textarea editable such as one I’m typing this message towards. There’s a Ms Word-style toolbar where I can edit this text – help it become bold, italic, make links, etc. How to get one of those toolbars Every help is drastically appreciated! Frank This is one of them: http: //www. fckeditor. net/demo Zero cost to download (open source). Bless you! This one looks great! This should satisfy my needs. Do you know of any that are a little a smaller amount complex Thats precisely what I ‘ve employed: http: //www. openwebware. com/ Remember that FCKEditor and different such editors typically enable you to reduce the quantity of options in their menu to ensure that what the person actually sees may be a much more limited subset with the full functionality the editor is competent at providing.

gVim on Windows
It is disgustingly slow with Windows. It takes quite a long time for it to redraw elements of its window, and also cursor movement can be slow. Can there be a better variant of gVim with regard to Windows that’s more detailed to how gVim is on something similar to Ubuntu, or My business is stuck with the standard one What is considered gVim Vim, but with toolbars and tabs in lieu of just a text-only surroundings: http: //www. vim. org/ Unless you need exactly GNU vim. It can require some extra DLL’s when you have not Cygwin by now installed. you could install VIM with regard to Windows: Take a look at this Url: http: //www. vim. org/download. php.
