Clueless about tax info for freelance jobs

Hi guys, I recently finished up a quick web design job plus the guy i havethe post paid with mentioned getting my SSN to get tax purposes. I’ve yet to master much about taxations & freelance operate, so I’m simply wondering what everyone others do regarding such things.
