I’m trying to develop my earliest website using dreamweaverMX. I would like to design a new logo with our company name inside it (and also photoshop pictures) and am looking for a good photoshop/image design program. Can anyone recommended a superb program for a new beginner. I’ve heard Photoshop 7. 0 is very good but difficult to work with for the novice.

I have heard good things about Xara X and still have only used a trial version but it really was nice. Fireworks is usually good Chris, a superb investment if anyone purchase it. And as everyone believes, photoshop is best of everyone’s list (or it should be )
I liked this trial of illustrator but couldn’t afford the value. I have determined the Paint Purchase Pro 8 (and subsequently 9 that comes out next month) undoubtedly are a good substitute – at least as a result of.
I have fireworks the way it came in this macromedia suite plus I didn’t as it. I found it far more limiting than illustrator and paint go shopping pro. Of training, I also didn’t such as the size of the particular png files, so that happens to be part of this.

imho Fireworks sucks… but when looking through for job requirements alot of smaller adveritsing/media/web companys appear to like FW. If you master Photoshop then FW is simple enough to pick up, but I wouildn’t learn things other way round.
