Maybe you have noticed my submit on Abyss Web Server but today I’m having reactions to it! I mount it and just about all, run setup. exe, just exactly what I did continue time. I go configured to run PHP Scripts and also my site (2Monkey Studios) is C: \Abyss Internet Server\htdocs\2monkey.
Now here’s the issue. The web node is running and turned on e. t. c. Then I go Microsoft Internet Explorer in addition to type: http: //localhost/2monkey/home. htm
Now on this old server (I must uninstall my previous edition of Abyss and re-install) this will have worked, but with this one, I find page not identified. Why
It has taken me a while to explain, but I am hoping you get me personally now. Please can you help. Please…
I am aware this sounds instead a silly dilemma, but are you sure how the file in dilemma exists
Of course, it does. C: \Abyss Web Server\htdocs\2monkey\home. htm is the directory.
Does your config file point towards the folder being the
ServerRoot will be C: \Abyss Internet Server\
Im leaping at straws these because I can not see any immediate issues, but an option is to try. Don’t forget to test that the page inside the 2monkey folder has the precise extension (possibilities may be that. html has been confused with. htm).
CHANGE: Have you read all the instruction detailed these That page details the default Server Root to be ‘c: \abyss’.
Not a chance. That didn’t work. That’s my exact point. I can’t view any problem nevertheless it just won’t work!! I tried re-installing double already. Grrrr!!
Put it off. When I two times click the Abyss Icon while in the system tray, the idea says:
Internet Server Local WEB ADDRESS: http: //127. 0. 0. ONE: 8000/
Unit local URL: http: //127. 0. 0. ONE: 9999/
Shouldn’t the web server local web address be http: //localhost If that’s the case, how can POST change it.
Edited place above.
Try while using IP address rather then localhost, but the IP tackle you gave may be the one for ones localhost.
The IP address works. But it’s easier to do just to type localhost as opposed to try to don’t forget IP addresses.
Or could this be the issue Whenever I sort just http: //localhost then it comes up with the site for ASP, the IIS thing. Must i install IIS
Try stopping that IIS service while you are using the Abyss server – having both equally running causes problems until you assign ports to them. Probably best to prevent both and in that case restart Abyss along with test again.
How do i stop IIS
Handle Panel > Performance and Maintanance > Admin tools > Internet Information Services.
Click the ‘+’ sign near to your computername while in the left panel. Press the ‘+’ signal outside " Internet Sites". Rightclick ‘Default World wide web Site’ and select STOP from the popup menu.
OK Used to do that, but now as an alternative to page cannot possibly be found, I get page can not be displayed. I assume this makes any difference, so every ideas now
CHANGE: Also, when I check out http: //localhost I get page can not be displayed. Will I ever get this problem solved
Did you try to stop and restart the Abyss server when you stopped the IIS server
It appears it is seeking the page the place that the IIS webroot is usually, and as that now is ended, it defaults to the error message.
personally I think that you should uninstall iis completely. What do you need it for when you are running Abyss Why don’t you run apache It really is IMHO the very best webserver around.
Nah, IMO Abyss is a great deal of easier to install (or it absolutely was last time) and also easier to configure (or it absolutely was last time). How do i uninstall IIS, coz it ain’t participating on Add/Remove plans.
ease of set up isn’t necessarily any indication belonging to the stability of the software…
Apache has strong roots for the reason that *nix web server of choice.
Well Abyss hasn’t failed me until now. I got it installed instantly and could apply it easily with my own brother so many of us could exchange strategies e. t. c. It took me per week just to have Apache installed!!!
