Help with starting out

I recently got dreamweaver in addition to flash etc etc and I want to start making websites.

I have done loads ahead of but they where by only side projects that never became finished or exactly where really basic. I need to start generating them better more just like a pro instead with some twat using frontpage.

Are available any tips or even things I ought of do to start straight into serious web-design

Study XHTML or HTML DOCUMENT CSS befor people fire up virtually any software. Also find out CSS. You do not need dreamweaver or flash to generate websites.. In fact several horriable sites are desined in those applications each day. Creating a professional site is just not what the application does.. that is around the desinger, these are just tools. I cannot emphasise how important learning how to correctly markup your current pages is, Much more times then certainly not, if you make use of dreamweaver in design mode as opposed to working with the code, Dreamweaver can hack up your code, and you won’t need to know what’s taking. So you need and therefore open the lid and know your way around. Dreamweaver cannt right poor design.

It’s not necessarily hard.. i reccomend about to W3Schools There is actually some excellent information that will assist get you up to speed quickly.

Learn the key points of ‘Design’ as opposed to just being another coder that may put a simple page togeather. – Learning how to use colour, typography, white-colored space will most of help.

Move straight for XHTML seeing that HTML is good old, and CSS can be a must also.

Thats much more what i intended, I want to style websites thats exactly why I dont wish to get too much into coding. I’m keen to have uncomplicated, minimlstic design but dont want it to look negative or low-tech and so forth etc.

Just about any DESIGN tips

And that’s a great superb logo/avater how did one does that

If all you have to to do is DESIGN websites, but not actually put these folks into production then all the best in your career. If you shall be creating decent sites you need to learn how to be able to mark up(code) ones documents. Otherwise you end up with bloated overeflated code littered with dropped markup and you will have to consetntly trouble shoot your pages.. but you wont be capable to because you dont know how to read the markup..

Where design/astetics that is up to the designer. My business is a huge admirer of minimalist design but it is hard to complete well. You want to know your elements and markup to complete fine adjustments. The signature characteristic of minimalist design is always that it works and looks a similar in virtually most browsers. In order to achive you will want to know how to apply your parts. If you try to avoid learning the code you should have a hard time frame.

My background throughout webdesign is My business is a designer. My sites should be visually appealing. But befor I will get to any of the my sits have to work properly. Knowning that invloves getting into your markup/code. Think of it like this.. you would not really start building some sort of performance car through sewing seats together and opting for rims.. You need to begin with the engine, suspension, steering, managing.. then after you could have something truly exceptional you are able to wrap a pleasant skin around that.

My business is only saying this to create stated you desired to get serious together with webdesign. And you cant find serious if all you have to to do can be design sites.

Learning the fundamental structure of (x)html is inevitable if you would like make good websites. If you don’t wish to dive deep in to the coding side with things Flash sounds a more rewarding route to get, as almost every little thing is visual.

Get your ideas down in writing before you get over it to software. There are actually few fonts that look good and remain readable on a computer screen; verdana/georgia/arial being at the top. Just search the internet there’s loads with design related assistance etc…

I’d personally highly recommend this particular Resource.

My avatar was created by: pencil+paper doodles, digitized throughout Macromedia Freehand then the transitions have been done in Adobe ImageReady.

PS. I do certainly not want webdesign to be a job just any hobby and I do would like to learn the code because what hope would Relating to at making good websites only dont know the best way they work Next time i said about not wanting to obtain code i was dealing with here i know need to learn code and i will do that but was seeking advice about sites

AGE. G. Genral stuff that you just lot take regarding advantage that newbies may not know about Stuff which is usually hidden not common sense ones such as bad make use of thumbnails or zero flashing objects because i already can that
