We are trying to transform my layers to tables on this site. I am employing Dreamweaver MX It keeps coming up with an error telling " cannot convert to tables so it contains overlapping layers". But absolutely nothing is else in which box. It usually lists the layers that will be overlapping. And Relating to looked and appeared and I is unable to see ANY layer that is certainly overlapping. I have checked it frequently. What could MY PARTNER AND I be missing
May I question why you’re looking to do this
DIV’s ought to be used to manage the flow of you site… not necessarily tables.
I was told to accomplish this because " clleular layers are for layout purposes only". Or that’s what We were told. I use a site and unfortunately I will be at work along with cannot post just about any code. It is not posted online nevertheless but it said to be tonight. Well, the idea looks great at my laptop, but while i look at it on my desktop computer at 1024 times 768, it " squishes" together a number of the text. And there’s much that just becomes outside of place even if its some little letter!. I’ve gone back to my designing in addition to lengthened my text boxes. But it still did the same thing. If there is a way around it, to where every thing will just relax in place, Please assistance! I have each of the current browser updates so that is not the problem sometimes.
I have an additional site too that includes a " wooden" variety background. I was planning to convert this anyone to tables too, but while i do that, the backgrounds belonging to the images go off and maybe they are not aligned when using the page background.
We are not so related to the second site as I will be with the very first. Well, right now anyways. Any assistance
Divs are not for design needs, they’re for composition purposes. You then use CSS to utilize a design for the structure. If I’d more time I’d make a more detailed response, but unfortunately I don’t right now: /
Truer terms have never also been spoken. Tables are a big no-no in modern web design, unless you usually are displaying tabular files. If you need to learn more and don’t mind spending a few quid for any book, I highly recommend Jefrey Zeldman’s Planning With Web Requirements. Once you’ve accomplished reading it you will not only know how make use of structured XHTML along with CSS, but you understand why it is critical to do hence.
If you’d instead not spend any money, W3 Schools is a great place to get started. Also, if you begin a thread getting information on the subject I’m sure that lots of knowledgeable forumers would be glad to point you inside the right direction.
