Hi there, hope everyone’s accomplishing great. I’d love to know if any individual has advice on dealing with another freelancer during a big project.
My buddy is really a Flash designer plus I’m an HTML web designer, and he was contracted by way of a company to create a Flash homepage as well as intro animation for your site. But this individual doesn’t know many about backend pattern, especially if the item involves Flash. Here I come in. On the homepage and lots of other pages, you wants to have Flash text, but also would like to update the text and not hire someone to try and do it or study Flash (because they do not have the time). So I fiddled around using the concept, checked with my local freinds and various lessons and finally located a small text-management-system that enables anyone to employ Notepad or Microsoft Word to bring up to date the text in a very Flash movie.
The contribution is significant, but there’s not loads of work to carry out.. I don’t own 20 or FIFTY pages of text to promote.. only 5 pages who have a small paragraph of text. So I instructed my buddy so it took me one hour to do the paragraph, and that 5 paragraphs in every would take related to 5 work hours to perform. Then I described my price.
I’m not sure how exactly I’m gonna get paid for the work, though.
Can this work Do i write up a seperate contract using the client (that mentions " Developer " ________" will continue to work on the text-management-system) plus they’ll pay my family directly
or
Should my partner who will be the chief company, recieve the money in the client and then consequently pay me In that case I should write a legal contract for my partner

If i were you i would ask your friend what he or she is most comfortable by using. If it was HIS client earliest then he should have the option to be charged you as the sub-contractor.

That is actually how subcontracting generally works. When you bid over a job you could normally include any fees that you inccure for subcontractors.. Such as.. I suck from writing copy, so I use copywriters every now and then. I include its fees in this bid.. I pay this copywriters myself as to make the progression seem seamless towards client. However that is not how it always has to be.
You may form a contract with the client yourself in your portion of the project, but expect your customer to want to deduct at the very least a portion with the previously agreed upon amount from your friend since he will not be doing the 100 % job as orgionally decided. Personally I could advise against this, it might benifit you more in the short run, but it really might bite everyone hard later whenever your friend possesses another project or even two but won’t let you in on it. Something to take into account..
