Jakob Nielsen killed TemplateMonster??!!??!!

I have just visited www. TemplateMonster. com. I was surprised to discover a totally new style and design there.
Through the ICQ discussion with a number my friends: too patriotic (pro-American), quickly loading, impact about usability.
As for me it appearance nice; more business enterprise and, get much about usability indeed; I’d an impression of which it’s Jakob Nielsen putted towards practice!!!
On the other side it is… I need ideas of… More dull Dried out and too business Or it could be it’s just my own nostalgia about older TM (one of my favorite sites around the net).
Will it be worth to drop on design for any sake of usability
I need ideas of really…
But anyway it’s worth investigating!

Looks such as 1000 other business sites now. I don’t see the way it’s " American" wanting. That’s definitely certainly not USA blue, along with the USA is never the only RW& B country on this planet.

Anyhow, I liked that old look. It was more unique also it gave an idea of how many templates you’d discover there.

PS – POST don’t see how the tab style switch has increased usability. When I recall, the old layout was much like this one. Dress yourself in have made minor enhancements to increase the usability while keeping the planning the same.

Yeah I don’t see how an usability is much better to tell the truth. They have changed the structure yes but the usability is not really much better. I think it was really a useless change if that was the one reason.

Appears the same if you ask me, except the graphics are already toned down. There’s no doubt that they could have done much better.

There’s no doubt that that the past design was much better, but anyway POST hate TM, that Jakob Nielsen is usually a " smart-pants", but the issue is that there are plenty of **GREAT** makers there that never earn what they need to because TM get’s just about all the money.
With regards to someday all the greater designers go their unique way.

Barbie’s to come back… and now, having a new hat! The snake could have a new epidermis, but the system (the poor grammar and the majority of the non-layout functionality) remains to be there. This looks regarding as American to my opinion as the food court from a mall: pizza, hamburgers, plus Mr. Wong’s Far east Express.

LOL Adam… funny that Pizza in addition to Hamburgers are considered American foods today

I don’t look at anything that based upon overseas American (or Canadian) foodstuff. Unless it’s Kraft Dinner. Us hosers are hooked on that stuff.

Seriously, new design is actually horrible IMO. Too much black text using a white background, I get drained just thinking about reading all that!

I always speculate why things get ‘fixed’ once they aren’t broken…

Most opinions here find a way to suggest that TM have taken one step backwards with their own site overhaul.

Now i am reminded of Sanyo, who accustomed to have a fantastic logo, with slighty Oriental-looking letters while in the name. Then they will changed it that will bog-standard italicised wording, just like some sort of zillion others. Their own neon sign within Piccadilly Circus, Liverpool looks completely waste.

Plus don’t even receive me started regarding Royal Mail (which most people recognised) paying some design guru hip-young-farts related to 1. 5million to come up with the name ‘Consignia’… only to switch it back whenever customers resolutely refused to uncover it.

Are consumers dumb, or exactly what

Anyone notice until this says " Jakob Nielsen Put to sleep… " on the leading page

It truly is called corporate judgement, my dear. It is the ultimate oxymoron. I see stuff like that happen constantly these days.

In fact, what I’m seeing a growing number of of is corporate-types fixing things and even acknowledging them every time they are broken as well as archaic. I keep viewing people doing a similar things repeatedly in terms associated with running their small business. They’re buying YP ads, which is fast becoming the greatest ripoff in the advertising game; getting expensive " hip-young-farts" (I adore that word, sara) to come up with creative advertising plans for things; doing loud, egomaniacal transactions about their expert services; using direct mail campaigns in an attempt to attract customers; etc and so upon.

What really ought to occur is a new shift in company attitudes on the whole. Companies tend to consider it as " basically do this, this and also this, I’ll get the particular customer" as averse to " what will my customer desire, and how can one market and deliver it to him/her"

There’s no doubt that that’s what Structure Monster had as the primary goal somewhat; I is able to see how the new skin could be slightly more useful (quicker load moment, primarily). They simply need to go further about it, that’s all.
