Hi folks,
This probably will prove to be a cold article, but I am thinking of getting some constructive feedback with a draft navigation system geared for this personal/professional website. And this I have a long way:
As an alternative to the above navigation system, I was also contemplating having four most important links:
Those four is a visible main hyperlinks, and the rest is hidden via some sort of dropdown and/or Flash-based routing…
Anyhow, please feel zero cost to comment/suggest/critisize this above mock course-plotting… I am furthermore contemplating having sub-links for my portfolio segment too…
What are peoples thoughts regarding one-word links compared to multi-word links… example:
Impress Design vs Print
Sonic Comps or Audio
And so on…
Thanks beforehand, cheers!

Not a bad idea, but unless you’ve got a huge amount of stuff for each category, you will find that there defintely won’t be much content within the page. Perhaps splitting a person’s categories up directly into smaller sections in lieu of having 10 inside the portfolio, have between one and four. Once you have a large amount of stuff within these sub-categories, then it is best to expand. Just this view anyhow.
I’d personally have the backlinks as multi-word, as they will likely have more weight with google.
Yes, I have had other folks suggesting this too. Although, I honestly do know that I could possibly easily have 10+ strong works per area…
… I may brainstorm on mingling the sections in addition to post my results later today.
I don’t want to over/under-do it… Does anyone get suggestions on what would have been a good maximum quantity of works per section
Which one do you subscribe to: " More the actual merrier" , or " Less is usually more"
If i combine the selection into smaller parts, and keep the amount per section confined to 10, then I is able to really pick my best work. Generally speaking, what do employers want to see
Another problem My business is running into is: A lot connected with my work meets many categories… Err, I guess it is another reason the reason I should incorporate my portfolio towards fewer sections.
Thanks with the input Justlivyalife, Thought about appreciate it.
Maintain suggestions coming! Thanks beforehand!
Cheers, Micky.
Alas! I think We’ve figured out the best ways to set-up the particular links/navigation for my portfolio:
(This will be one of many main-navigation links " Preferred Works"
And for the " Selected Works" site, I can have some form of list/thumbs that might have this info almost them:
I think this above setup could be the easiest way for users to plot a course my portfolio section.
I really could even have backlinks to specific categories somewhere around the same page, for instance:
Of course , if any of this above is clicked, allows say " Sculpture", the thumbnails/list will then refresh to indicate only sculpture associated works…
Hopefully that each makes sense Hehe…
Please feel free to reply in your thoughts/comments/suggetions…
Thanks beforehand,
Cheers!

Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen any code that would do something similar to what I have described in my last post Vibrant Flash/PHP scripts could be preferable…
There’s no good reason in order to " completely" reinvent the particular wheel, right
Hence, just to explain, I will sum up the full website navigation system i am envisioning:
(These is a main links for each page
The particular " HOME" (home-page) might have my " information entries" and your " about" facts.
The particular " SELECTED WORK or PORTFOLIO" page can be as described around post #4 earlier mentioned. Within this area, users would be capable of find a connect to my resume.
The SCRIPTS internet page would behave just like the portfolio section… The main categories would be: CSS, PHP, JS, CPP, FLA, and also DIR.
The FEEDBACK page can be contain a guest-book plus possibly a make contact with email form.
The particular LINKS is really self explanatory…
End of it of every internet page, contained within this footer, will always be these links:
Hehe, okay, I am actually starting to like that navigation set-up… On account of all who get given me feedack a long way (justlivyalife), I really really appreciate it.
My business is still open in order to suggestions.
Thanks
Cheers
Micky.
