what is web design and web development ?
we are relatively new to website development and never was clear regarding the difference between web page design and web growth, can anybody help me using this thanks greatly, changintimes, webmaker Don’t quote me for this but I’d say not a whole lot. Web design is really a subset of online development, focusing within the appearance of a website. Web dev on the other hand encompasses all the aspects of building a webpage: appearance, structure and content. my spouse and i guess web dev furthermore encompasses SEO, am i allowed to do web dev in addition to order out with regard to SEO and content isn’t the usual way I’d say net development is more making a design happen with content and any backend that needs to be implemented, while web site design is exclusively that visual aspect. Yet really, I listen to them used interchangeably. Contracted. Design == image, development == dependable. However, both need expertise in the other in order to work. You can’t have a designer who won’t know the disadvantages of XHTML as well as CSS, nor can you do have a developer who doesn’t understand generate a good-looking web-site. I believe Shadowfiend. SEO (if you’d … Continue reading

New site
Hi, I’m working away at an update involving my school house website and required your opinions at how it appearance, the house coloration is pink — hence the shapes and colours used! I also want some advice on which fonts would look great, thanks beforehand, Solidgold look it over Im not a huge fan. I’d personally possibly go with a solid grey background as opposed to more stripes. As well, there is a black circle in the middle of the text spot in Firefox. Caring I just seen, is that this page scrolls if it doesnt really need to, and there is definitely no border for the top of the underside pink section, which i think would make the website look a tiny better, since the good news is border on the most notable pink section. It does not align properly with Firefox, and there may be horizontal and directory scrolling for no reason. As well, having stripes likely one direction with the top and bottom on the page, and stripes opting another at the center, is a bit of a distraction. Make this solid. It’s like seeing a magic eye on a carousel. You seriously should find out CSS … Continue reading

PLEASE HELP ME GET STARTED!
I’m new to web site design and I first have general requests. First of most of, I am utilizing Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Is that this the best combination, or can somebody please recommend a better solution Would people recommend creating all graphics in Photoshop and then placing in Dreamweaver I also wonder with regards to browser compatibility plus HTML vs CSS I appreciate the help. Photoshop and Dreamweaver certainly are a good combination. You can apply all photo croping and editing or creation involving simple graphics with photoshop and spend less them there to apply for the site. If you wish to create more sophisticated graphics or drawings, you’ll want to utilize illustrator or much the same program. there are a great deal of issues with browser compatability, but you can avoid loads of issues by merely validating the css plus html files while using the w3c validators (http: //www. w3. org/QA/Tools/#validators). You may also want to check the information within the new Adobe CSS Consultant (still beta — http: //www. adobe. com/cfusion/communityengine/index. cfmevent=homepage& productId=1) the way it has some handy information regarding identified css issues. On the other hand, this will certainly not replace testing your site in various … Continue reading

Sort of a bad thing because content won’t make an appearance… SEO issues right now there. Yes it is all flash. Something not at all hard to do. If you want a more effective internet site (one that empasizes written content over effects), feel free to use something like Lightbox. The search engines it. Or, seeing that I use mootools, employ Slimbox. There’s a new sample there as well, to see the effect you’ll have access to. When you produce a site completely together with flash, there is bit of chance any search engines like google will understand precisely what your site is focused on. Human can read the text embedded inside flash, but … Continue reading

Problem with colour in IE
Okay, this is kind of a strange challenge, I think, and I have no idea what is leading to it. I created the logo in GIMP and I made the sides of the image (around the actual circular logo) a selected colour so may well match the qualifications colour. However, after i look at this specific in IE, the background and the edges of the image never match. It appears perfect in Firefox. The image colour Will be the same colour for the reason that background colour–they tend to be both set for you to #330847. You are able to look at it here: http: //www. esharpwebdesign. com/designs/kiki/kispirit/index. html Any help can be greatly appreciated!!! I did a bit more poking, and it appears like the colour is actually fine when saved as a gif, but the actual image itself appearance bad, especially the circle… Argh. You’ve encountered one of two major problems using PNGs in Net Explorer. Alpha blending (variable transparency) does not work properly in IE6. IE7 fixing this. The color gamut is wrong in all versions of IE, transparency or not. I believe IE will render the PNG a little bit darker than it it imagined to, … Continue reading

It would not make me state " WOW! " but I do as if it. Nice, sparkling simple layout….. good us going for color. The sole thing that mixed up me was that Recent Projects I thought it turned out still loading (since this reveals to bottom out). Appearance good though. Only thing I will say is the actual Recent Projects (the " s" in projects) can be behind the border of the flash, so it looks slightly off…… bring this forward should fix that. None of the page are connected, so can’t declare anything there. So good, looks good….. sorry, only spent a few hrs on the site last night (design and dev) so it was only that page i obtained semi done. in terms of the ‘recent’ subject overlapping, i presume you looking at in something rather than FF once again i became rushing to obtain a bit of crit, wasn’t sure i became going down the proper route. do … Continue reading

Hey I designed an affiliate site in photoshop, sliced it ” up ” and put all of it into a dining room table. I open the item in firefox and it also looks fine in addition to dandy, even added quite a few rollover buttons employing some java script but next time i goto school to work on it along with open it around IE the nav club the links usually are all uneven vertically and additionally , there are some horizontal challenges. I am semi new to web development but I really tried to solve this one on my, here is the entire code. I don’t observe any closing SCRIPT tag in the first place – this’ll possibly be mucking things up a lttle bit. Decide to put " < /script> " prior to your title tags. Oh yeah you should close the opinion tag first too. As well, better nowadays that can put your tags inside lowercase. Made the tag continue to no luck, appearance fine in Firefox, but once i open it with IE the navbar doesn’t align right, it is really becoming a pain inside the I really don’t see any Doctype defined… Without this it … Continue reading
