Still design with Internet Explorer 5/5.5 in mind?
I’ve noticed plenty of my sites look like pretty garbled upward when it’s seen using ie5/5. 5… Anything, else and they also all work fine. According to w3schools merely about 4% with poeple still employ ie5. http: //www. w3schools. com/browsers/browsers_stats. asp So… Do you design/code with ie5 as their intended purpose, or is the item a lost cause Many thanks! Nope. IE6 is actually my baseline, in the event I’m targetting IE (I usually am, though ) POST ignore it. IE WDF cell phone browser breakdown for August 2006 (although not necessarily truly representative of your general population because designers will use alternative surfers and AWstats grossly underrepresents many stats, including hits): wow, that copied terribly. Summary: IE 6TH, 40. 8%, IE SEVERAL, 3. 8%, all others less than 1%. Overall: IE 1 OUT OF 3. 2% and Firefox 38. 2% (! ). Additional notables: Safari A COUPLE OF. 4% and Opera A SINGLE. 1%. Netscape 4 less than 0. 01%… report. Konqueror only slightly more than NS4. I actually much like the Opera rendering motor… I just loathe the browser which surrounds it. In the months and many years, IE and Firefox were getting closer and also closer for … Continue reading

New Site Have question
http: //rensmasonry. com/web. jpg This can be a new site in which I’m currently designing but I’m having trouble while using layout lining up using the background because of the shading that through laps brick qualifications, Is there away I’ll do this You can apply one of two things from the top of my personal head: Use alpha-blended PNGs for your shadows. Works completely in every cell phone excluding IE, which usually requires some hackers, the simplest which is just referencing the third-party Javascript report. Always assume the top of the page is at a certain place, then create your tiling shadow image with that assumption in your mind. Also requires the fixed width. WE don’t see everything wrong. It looks nice to me. Just what exactly am I not well-known He placed a JPG… he’s having problem using the bricks and the shadow lining ” up ” when he invests it in html document Well it would be nice to in fact see the website, not a. jpeg Well I possibly could post the site nevertheless it looks horrible should the brick and shadow fall into line anyways, does anyone have a simpler way of fixing this problem But … Continue reading

Just found this screenshot site/tool
That isn’t my site however I thought that folks designing their sites should use this: http: //browsershots. org/ Are not aware of how long it’s going to last. It appears that they do this mostly manually. You’d believe they would automatise the procedure before launching nonetheless, hey, I’ll take it.,.. pretty cool as well as useful… That may be pretty cool however you’re right I doubt they aren’t doing it personally. It claims they distribute the web-sites to different crops. Maybe they tested out it out to see the response before they automated it. I’ll give it a try on my web-site and see how in case it works! Isn’t there one more site (albeit the pay site) that does similar thing I would ever guess it being slower anyway, because of what has to be done. Very intelligent though, and excellent for developers! It is a nice concept, but sometimes you will need the actual cell phone; for example, to attempt: hover effects, styles, Javascript, etc. You’ll be able to easily get the cheap-ass slow Apple computer for $200 or less to apply just as the Safari testbed. I got your G4 Cube about this past year for about … Continue reading

Does CSS really work for liquid site design???
MY SPOUSE AND I originally designed this site using CSS and also HTML with many absolute positioning: http: //jump-pilot. sourceforge. net/index. html I thought it was before a bad site for the newbie until Manged to get some complaints from a few of the people viewing your website. When I exposed it on my browser at your house, which is much smaller compared to browser I designed coursesmart on I found it looked a lot worse! Even though I designed coursesmart to be at most 800 pixels broad, the page appeared huge and I’d to scroll to view everything. So I fixed to revamp the site to be flexible or liquid, and reduce the absolute positioning. I thought that this was a rspectable goal until I realized each cell phone has different glitches or shortcomings when it comes to CSS! A fluid design that appears correct in World-wide-web Explorer doesn’t look correct in Firefox, the other that displays appropriately in Firefox would not look right in Internet Explorer. I didn’t even try some other browsers! This challenge leads me to ask a straightforward question. Can I showcase a webpage employing a different stylesheet influenced by the browser that’s viewing it … Continue reading

Counter / Browser logger
Howdy. My work offers asked me to suss out a behind the clips counter and browser detecter that people can bolt to every site, both external in addition to internal (intranet) to provide us information about – what number of hits, and which browsers everyone is using. Not done that before – will there be one you might recommend I suppose they wouldn’t brain buying it when it wasn’t very costly – I need one that is guaranteed secure and successful, and efficiently. We all dont’ have php unfortunately, the systems use IIS and also the sites are mainly integrated either asp. net or html. Many thanks. If you enable logging around IIS, you can lay down to track such thinggs as IP address, cell phone browser (also called " consumer agent" ), and various data you can report from. The way to enable logging within Windows Server THE YEAR 2003 (IIS 6. 0) The way to enable logging within Windows Server 2000 (IIS 5. 0) Which gets you the particular raw data, but then you’ll want any log analyzer program to translate in which into meaningful data. Steve Schofield lists some of the more popular versions in his website: … Continue reading
