Out of the loop — RoR, PHP or Django?
I will be completely outside the web design trap. The last time I worked on a web site was a good 2 or three years ago. However, a friend and Concerning been planning a web site project together to get a fairly long time now, and we’ve last but not least got enough ideas because of begin working in it. Now this time has come, I find myself just a little overwhelmed by the entire new technologies utilized in web design — particularly these frameworks, like RoR and Django. Today, I am definitely not entirely sure exactly what these two people actually do, but from just what exactly I’ve read in several, many tutorials along with FAQs I believe likely basically a huge collection of pre-written " functions" — you will have to forgive me plainly am misusing words here, as We’ve never done virtually any formal programming training. Everything I realize is from publications, tutorials and messing all over. If anyone can tell me if i am completely erroneous or not, it would extremely helpful. Personally i think that it will probably be worth mentioning that might know about have planned is not really a business business, so we’re … Continue reading
Font size and other related attributes
Little is said in relation to setting font sizing and how it relates to other tags and layout and so forth. I never look at it too much until I learn that some ways are superior to others. The em is the best method, I have usually used points by myself. So my problem is: 1) What method would you use for font measurement, div widths, margins and many others, and why 2) Does a single size type affect other pursuits in the website layout Personally, I style with CSS since you should. Regarding font sizes, MY PARTNER AND I use percentages, eg Code: font-size: 120%; For div widths and many others sometimes I employ percentages, but largely I’d use pixels, for instance so Code: width: 800px; margins along with padding, always pixels Code: underlay: 20px 0px 15px 0px; margin: 0px; Why I merely do. It’s just the best way I learnt. Essentially yeah, it’s a good option to set the base font-size with the document and next size either with percentages or ems (which boils right down to the same issue for fonts) with specific elements. There are still templates to examine, including Blueprint CSS, YUI Fonts, along with … Continue reading

I have an online design studio, and my web page is using template that is bought on themeforest I recently got into this with someone about another forum about this. Pretty heated talk. IMHO, we should provide original work to our clientele. More than in which, if you can not be bothered to perhaps personally design your own site, what should that say in relation to your client work A number of people will say, " we won’t know the actual difference". My answer fot it is you, and it should bother you you are presenting someone else’s work as your. I really could go on forever about this, but those would be the Cliff Notes. I have two design sites and two website sites. For one of many design sites, it is hand-coded using quite a few jQuery and PHP.
