Score one for IE
Within recent tests in addition to being pissed from my computer for about one hour, I’ve found out that IE6sp1 won’t support XHTML. Choose IE: dead: XHTML has always worked for me in IE6 and also Mozilla Good… IE6SP1 with it really is guessing for MIME kinds, incorrectly identifies application/xhtml + xml with regard to xml, displaying the page for XML document instead of a rendered site… Didn’t get any troubles by using sp1. XHTML makes as HTML, not XML. POST updated mine continue night, it is actually SP1 with 4 hotfixes lol (why could hardly they name this SP2) in the sense, XHTML is actually XML… I wouldn’t set it past MS to obtain a bug in rendering it. That reported, why does W3C nonetheless insist on employing DTD’s for HTML validation instead of XSD’s tolerance young luke.

Brave or just dumb to not support IE6?
Howdy everyone, Given the fact IE7 has been recently with us for a variety of months now, would you consider it to be a brave move, or plain foolish to drop help support for IE6 once you create a innovative website My site shows that the majority still use IE6 but that is decreasing every day, and pretty soon IE7 will be the main browser. On the list of reasons I consult your opinion is that I’m redesigning my site. It’s XHTML as well as CSS, and can be standards compliant. Makes perfect in IE7, Opera, Firefox, Safari, Camino and any browser you can visualize. Except IE6. It would take plenty of effort to get rid of it for IE6. By using IE6’s user trust gradually dwindling, is it worth it Within your opinion, should webmasters still take the time and effort to make a site best with IE6 now it’s been superseded by IE7 Naturally, we don’t help to make sites still appropriate for IE3 anymore! So really the issue is, at what point should we cease supporting heritage browsers — which include IE6 Involved to hear a person’s thoughts Support IE6 right up until its usage declines to … Continue reading

I’m currently developing an online site for a Student Accommodation. It’s perfect upon all browsers aside from IE5 and it has to be perfect on IE5 for your customer cos jane is using the IE5 Web browser. I have seemed up on tips and hints and as far as I’m sure already and have been confirmed from exploring around, Stylesheets aren’t compatible with IE5 so what on earth should I will i am completely lost, please help me personally. K-Webs It’s hard enough addressing IE6-IE7, and IE5 is actually worse. Merely were in your current shoes, I would simply ensure it is XHTML/CSS validated, designed for FireFox and adjustments created for IE6 and preceding. I would not really care that she is a customer in this article. She should not use IE5, and in the event you go through the many hours to make that right, just with regard to her, who’s to express her computer isn’t going to die and she then gets a different computer at IE7 or IE8 There comes your point where a web designer/developer has to be in charge of particular things, and this is one of these people… even at this point of shedding … Continue reading

Lightbox Problem
We’ve started using Lightbox with some sites to provide a slieshow effect but experienced problems. Only put the computer code calling the lightbox script along at the top of your page I at times in IE6 obtain an " functioning aborted" error concept, the computer shows a loud clang and also the page bombs available. This is certainly unacceptable!!: disappointed:: disappointed: To mend this, I moved the code towards bottom of the page much like http: //www. uniquewebsites. company. uk/web-design-portfolio/web-design-portfolio. htm This specific avoids the " functioning aborted" error but – in the event you try to visit an image before the page is thoroughly loaded in ie6, then the lightbox fails and you just obtain blank screen when using the image in the top end left corner. This provides multiple advances over the " functioning aborted" error concept but it’s nevertheless not great. Has anyone else encoutered this concern, and – if so – how managed you fix it Is there almost any better software to choose from for slideshow effects which is free and user-friendly and uncomplicated That’s your strange error… I’ve never encountered that in every the years Lightbox is available. That currently being said, look into … Continue reading

Best Browser to test website?
Hi there, I had been wondering if any one knew which browser is better to test your current websites in as many as you can but realy concentrate on the major 4 IE6, 7, 8 firefox, sfari, opera. and for seo indexability lynx. Firefox having Firebug, I’ve identified, is the easiest for development. Opera, mainly Opera 10, is very standards-compliant and goes by Acid3. Then test in IE8, then IE7, and as long as you specifically need support as it, IE6. Usually, develop for by far the most standards-compliant browser and work into the least. What does the title of the thread should want to do with browser testing Sorry, this. Title evolved. I minute firefox with firebug install Also validate your website with http: //validator. w3. org I usually use 3 preferred browsers. IE8, Opera and Firefox. Safari (sadly) is considerably more popular than Opera, and even Chrome, the browser without any point, has two times its market reveal. Opera is simply 0. 7% despite precisely how clearly awesome it can be. Testing a website used to be so much better. You would grow and test your code in Net Explorer and always be totally oblivious to help anything … Continue reading

The author may be a really great web designer… even my advisor says shes much better than him… oh well hope to find out what are your own thoughts bout this kind of… This is a good evolution in progression and we are during it. We don’t want to reduce the old stuff because some people still use this. We don’t prefer to use the brand new stuff because a lot of people don’t have the item yet! IE6 has one foot inside grave and other foot on a new banana peel. The only real way to complete it off is usually when designers stop designing for it. As long because sites work with IE6 then people will never have a motive to upgrade. … Continue reading
