Designing for Art Display – Help Appreciated
Howdy. I would recognize the value of some advice regarding website design for art exhibit. My sister is often a budding artist who wishes to own a home starting to showcase your ex artwork. How does one attempt designing such something I’m a beginner, myself, and I don’t know where to start. What shall be most effective I want it to glimpse nice, but I know I would like to keep the item simple. Black and white overlays considering the background perhaps staying some variation of an 50% gray, to be able not to detract in the artwork when the item displays. Then, perhaps several designs in the borders and dividers and such. I thought in relation to introducing a slight little bit of color by using a prism-like range but I’m not sure how to use this. The art form displayed shall be in sequential variety (i. e. comics, manga) with multiple pages related to each story, so I understand that navigation can be key. This is perhaps a little more complicated that an effective portfolio, as much organization is required for the individual stories and the preceding chapters in addition to pages. But what is a great size … Continue reading

Font size and other related attributes
Little is said in relation to setting font sizing and how it relates to other tags and layout and so forth. I never look at it too much until I learn that some ways are superior to others. The em is the best method, I have usually used points by myself. So my problem is: 1) What method would you use for font measurement, div widths, margins and many others, and why 2) Does a single size type affect other pursuits in the website layout Personally, I style with CSS since you should. Regarding font sizes, MY PARTNER AND I use percentages, eg Code: font-size: 120%; For div widths and many others sometimes I employ percentages, but largely I’d use pixels, for instance so Code: width: 800px; margins along with padding, always pixels Code: underlay: 20px 0px 15px 0px; margin: 0px; Why I merely do. It’s just the best way I learnt. Essentially yeah, it’s a good option to set the base font-size with the document and next size either with percentages or ems (which boils right down to the same issue for fonts) with specific elements. There are still templates to examine, including Blueprint CSS, YUI Fonts, along with … Continue reading

Hi everyone, My business is currently designing an online site for myself, and I really believe it is going quite nicely. I sent quality link to some mates to discover what they said, and most have been positive.. and then I obtained the replies through the people who work with Safari. With both Chrome / Firefox your website appears fine (havn’t tested IE however.. ), but on Safari for reasons uknown a grey space appears in the top of your home page. I have done everything to try and fix this nonetheless nothing seems to work. I also was not sure where for you to post this issue, as I am confused if it’s a HTML/CSS or a Javascripting error. Thanks! http: //test2scottshirbin. freehostia. com/home. html document sorry for twice posting but I’d another look also it looks like safari will be ignoring my length: auto (also tried out 100%) values within the css Maybe that’s not the situation – have you done a reset in the beginning of your CSS in order to overwrite the browser’s individual settings No offense to all the work you’ve placed in your site… but produce a site that is effective on all surfers, … Continue reading
