One page site, to do or not do.
greetings there, new here so please don’t eat me as well as sacrifice me on the dark gods of website design.: laugh: I’m designing a web site for the boss, it’s been a lengthy while since I’ve done website design so I’m relearning the majority of everything but that’s besides the issue. The web site will end up being small, tiny actually, I’m talking 5 VARIOUS pages or much less, mostly text (price set of services, a little information on that spa, contact info) and maybe 10-20 graphics max, most of the being small art logos of various firm products we use. The planning will be simplistic and minimalist, we don’t require anything hugely pretty (no flash, asp, php) There is nonetheless one Idea that I used to be toying with before and I’m pondering applying it these. I would really prefer your input for this idea, pros and cons that you may see as very well as alternatives to my idea. From the title I think you are able to figure out precisely what this idea is but well then , i’ll exmplain it regardless A one page web page, using javascript to display the right content based within … Continue reading →

CMS concept turn…
My own Content Management System has taken a big turn. After looking through the book Coming up with the Obvious, that we found quite enlightening, I chose to drop superficial techniques, and reduce it for the bare basics. The objective of this CMS can be kinda different. It’s directed at developers to easily attach a CMS to somewhat of a design. It’s main purpose will probably be for my private projects, of lessons, but it’ll be free. A huge makeover was about the menu system. I boiled it as a result of simple " catagories" depending on the pages independantly, and developers simply attach PHP functions in place of those menus. There are still things, though. . Considering that menus are made, they only output something such as this: HTML: < ul id=" menuID" class=" customclass" > < li id=" menuID-1" > < your href=" url/" > Palate Item 1< /a> < /li> < li id=" menuID-2" > < your href=" other/" > Palate Item 2< /a> < /li> < /ul> This makes the CMS form of a purist. Additional attributes is often applied by the actual designer, but certainly not the structure once more. I know a number of … Continue reading →

As long as I know, slicing won’t have almost any effect to occasion loads. Meaning, even though you slice the image enough time to load your website is definitely the same.. But in case you still want in order to slice the photograph, you could deliver me an e-mail and I’ll try that can assist you as best as I could. Slicing probably have a (tiny) effect on the image sizing’s, but will likely slow things down due to multiple resource requests on the server. So I’d claim reduce the … Continue reading →

Creating a fancy menu in dreamweaver 8?
I come to this forum beyond great frustration!: astonished: We have Dreamweaver 8 along with started building a website on a demo of CS3. Well my trial is over and I’m to DW8, but now I can’t figure out how to create a multi-layer drop-down horizontal navigation bar without the application of the " Spry" instrument. A good example of what I’d like to see to create could be the menu bar on " subway. com". I lack that much web site design experience and can’t find a reply via google, so any help here would be appreciated -AsV Used to do a quick lookup: http: //www. cssplay. company. uk/menus/ http: //www. dynamicdrive. com/dynamicindex1/droptabmenu. htm Most are css only choices, so you might customize them for your needs. I used a spry menu from CS3 also it works in all I tested, even ie 5. 5. It uses a little bit of javascript with this. I’ve been setting up css only navbars these days but only sole level ones.

Unfortunately the site layout located frames (software ordering restriction) as a menu is hovered more than a pop up results. The problem would be that the pop up information is showing up under the display animation. Is there something inside the code I can change for making this work Unclear why it’s behaving in this way.
