site nav, sub menu — help!?!

Hello! Now i am using ImageReady, implementing my layout, mastering as i choose. I’ve never employed slicing before, plus i’m having difficulties. We’ve a basic nav menus, with buttons, plus rollovers. I’m attempting to make it so that when the user clicks on the button a submenu unwraps up. I’ve made use of slices and onclick rollovers, along with the submenu does appear when the particular button is clicked… Then again, when the sensitive mouse is moved them dissappears! I tried giving out the slices to incorporate the areas the submenus are in, but some with the submenus overlap (some get more links as compared to others) so ImageReady wouldn’t quite well then , i’ll do that. Similar to i said, i have never started any page in ImageReady prior to, I usually work in DreamWeaver… And i can’t seem to search for the solution i need in the help files. Does anyone have any experience by using ImageReady or Navigation Menus similar to this I would appriciate just about any help! Thanks! .

JPG The uploaded image will be site template POST created with Frontpage and also Photoshop. The graphics the simple truth is on the internet page were made seperately in Photoshop after which manually calculated to suit together into the page as being a puzzle. Is there and easier way to do that. People have told me that one could design the total site in Illustrator and save it for html page. Tabbed menu navigation

Hello everyone…… My organization is still working on the layout of the newest version of world wide web. thomasinamusic. com My organization is wanting to use a " tabbed food selection navigation" sorta down the lines of amazon. com……. however graphically different. I would really like to create this menu in illustrator, and then slice it about incorporate using css/javascript. Does anyone have got any clues on steps to start this I possess searched www. good-tutorials. com and done research online on google for virtually every help, but am on the agenda dry. Thanks for just about any responses. There are no mistery, it’s basically rounded nearby rectangles behind any think like from the same color. You can add rollovers in order for you. I see that nav is obtaining popular, as it’s used on a lot of e-shops, apple, and so forth. but how to get the emphasis, if you will certainly, to show up on each tab along with whatever link you’ve got clicked Just accomplish this through imageready as well as rollovers Listamatic includes a script for tabbed selection. Click here. I need ideas of whether you may edit this script for your purpose.

How is this layout guys???

How is layout guys http: //www. barcelona. la/Project/silver/index. htm aranoid: It is really clean, not much graphics in addition to the the item shots. I’d make the buttons about the top to appear more just like a nav, as they is very much part of the particular header image. I’m not only a fan of that text effects all over " Order Today". Would you rather simple (and overused) type. Also the " Silver precious metal & Gold" text may be a little on that large side. The site can use a stronger layout and maybe a few small graphical features to separate many of the items or to separate the text through the items. ‘Jewelery’ is spelt incorrectly with your header image. I would like too see a number of nice rollover in your navigation, but I think that it becomes easier for to just have all these as plain copy using CSS rollover effects. I’d also like to see an increase in font-szie that will 10pt or 12px.. 3/5 I think you would like some more colouring or maybe getting some sort of design for this page. At the moment everything seems slightly plain and perhaps a little … Continue reading

Site Redesign

Two questions with the fine people with WDF that halt long enough to help care – A SINGLE. Do you think I should stick with the old design (http: //fmd. port5. com) or develop the modern one, ignore the particular header though (http: //fmd. port5. com/Redesigns) (working for the domain soon – promise: -D) 3. Firefox users you will have spotted this already – how one can get the boxes to fall into line with the header (there’s something wrong while using CSS I think) http: //fmd. port5. com/Redesigns/ ) I dont just like the gray background upon #1, but usually it looks far better IMO. The second design is a superb concept, but I hate the nav, or along with scheme. The banner has lots of bright colors, and the other site is shades of blue. I think a balance must be struck. Also, I hate the font styles utilized in the nav, and the " fresh… " headings can be a little too huge IMO. Simply my 2 pence worth. Thanks with the feedback Spluf, you’ve reinforced a few things that have been niggling me regarding the second design. I think I will change the over the top … Continue reading

CSS, Frames, or Tables

I’m unclear what I should remain faithful to designing my internet websites on. Any suggestions And what’s the best way to undertake repearing elements with each page including navigation bars. CSS, and also Tables. I dislike frames. PHP would be your finest bet for very easily repairing elements at each page. All the best .! Although I lean on the CSS camp. We’d still rather apply tables then put 1 frame inside this layout. I as far as repeating elements being a navigation bar, a good simple option would be using includes to enable you to create a very modular template-ish natural environment. This can possibly be done using PHP, ASP, SSI, CGI, etc.. whatever technolgoy you’ve evaliable. How that will work is you would take the markup you’d use for claim your navagation, and put it in a file. Then ‘include’ that file in the base file using some type of include statement (depending on the scripting lanuge). This allows you change featuers being a menu, footer, meta tags, etc.. by changing only one single file. Coding Style ONE. LAYOUT: CSS, tables, and divs ONLY TWO. BACKEND: ASP as well as PHP THREE. DATABASE: Oracle as well as mySQL … Continue reading

Site Redesign (again ;))

Properly I’ve started on the completely different change for FMD Studios (I’ve got a bit on my hands), but a pal showed me that this design that I’ve truly mocked up looks a bit more like www. ceruleanstudios. com. Does the look look ‘copied’ from their site, because if it does I really is going to change it. If it can be ok I’d appreciate a little critique (yes, I realize the CSS will be explorer-fied, but merely develop the design it’ll be x-browser I assure ) Also would using the cube breaching copyright (it’s a rubik’s iirc) Update: The redesign can be found here – online world. fmdstudios. com/Redesigns/index. html Where could be the redesign It’s an improvement on what you’ve before I imagine. However I do like your outdated design and think it would be good if you do have a nice professional looking banner on them. IT would increase a completley different feel to the site and it would be for the much better. If you cannot developed a new banner then I might consider a full redesign. I don’t even think it’s copied out of that site too much, or it will not look it. But … Continue reading

Fly-out Menus – Where to Start, Which Way to Go

Ok, this amatuer web development hack has as a final point been forced by simply necessity to how to do the drop-down food selection, or more specially, because the links are around the left, I speculate you’d call this a fly-out menu. (I don’t learn if that would make a difference. ) I’ve read a bit through searching these and what MY SPOUSE AND I gather is which can be done it via DHTML and you may also do it by way of CSS. (If you will find other ways, for instance JavaScript, I do not know. ) Because I’m beginning scratch here, this question then, is usually, does anyone care to talk about an opinion where way is the best way to go I’d personally guess the main concern would be the number of versions back with IE, Mozilla and Opera the chosen code could well be compatible. Perhaps you will find other considerations too. Almost any thoughts are significantly appreciated. this is still from a weird situation in terms of I am concerned. I don’t think u are able to do a pure css dropdown with out these " enhancement" as well as " mod" data that make … Continue reading

Designing a new site

Hi there, I’ve received a few advice about our site over inside " How’s the site" forum, and I’ve determined that now My goal is to totally start again with my style. As well to be a new design, I’m also intending to change your technical backend associated with my site and write a kind of CMS. In any case, I have created a fresh navbar (see website link in sig) and a new logo (attached). Any comments in these and suggestions on the design would always be welcome. dude oh man. the following we go again! That other thread of yours had been pretty big!: common: Good luck with the rewrite! Ill post the useful comments sooner or later…. hmm this logo is really decent; theres nothing really wrong by using it. As for your nav.. it demands some work. It seems as if you used Xara or another program to make it (no offense). Another thing is the fact that bevels are one of the abbused affects people used in webdesign (along area gradients). Bevels in proportion(sp) seems ok but an excess of can completly ruin an online site design or in this case its navigation. I recomend … Continue reading
