Dreamweaver link not working !!

Hi again, I appear to be experiencing problems trying to link to a folder from a webpage designed within dreamweaver. I have copied and pasted the actual link \\999. 999. 999. 999\ftproot\myfolder into your web-browser and that prompts me for my user name and password in that case works fine… this opens up OK. However trying to generate a link on the webpage to this kind of address fails. It cannot discover the page. I checked this code and discovered it turned out inserting 5%C or maybe something similar the location where the \ characters were being. I then copied and pasted the proper link in and also tried again. Even though it was now pointing into the correctb location this still failed using the same error!! Why could it be doing this Is a common difficulty Does anyone know a workaround All the best, Mitch Nicely, I know why if you pasted the 999. 999. 999. 999 It looks like you should be trying to reveal a page all over an ftp interconnection. You need a web site server set approximately share web pages from the site. I wish that helps. Or else, please be more specific as part … Continue reading

Graphics in Frontpage – Noobie how to question

I want to put quite a few graphics in my frontpage. Do you have to load the graphics for a database which comes with your hosting company or only place a link to the graphics into your HTML Many thanks Surely someone knows the way to add graphics into a webpage…. You must first save the picture for a computer. Then: Place > Picture > From File Then find your report. You really need to upload the graphics for a web space, a similar place where your own html pages usually are stored. You should store graphics/iamges in the seperate sub directories. IN THE HTML < img src=" yourImageFolder/graphic. gif" /> You change the path according to exactly where and what you will have saved it as. As Trico says you’ll want to get your head surrounding the whole way online is structured… your own c: \ drive isn’t gonna be accessible to folks over the internet; even if you’re hosting your site (and as you said " internet hosting company" I assume you’re not) the d: \ syntax will make reference to their drives every time they visit your web-site not yours, so it’s never gonna work! So, yes, … Continue reading

I got just wondering after My organization is done and I’m willing to upload will all my links work proper. Because I notice every one of the links in the code is compared to referenced on my personal local computer. Hopefully this makes sense to some one. Hi. When you created the buttons via Dreamweaver (rather in comparison with say typing all of them by hand) then they will point towards the path to this file. Meaning while you upload them the links is not going to work. As an example lets say in a very folder name you will have the file index. html and as file you want a check out photos. html. Nevertheless, photos. html is a subfolder called, then your link will probably be come misc/photos. html The problem is placed in that for anyone who is working on a niche site locally, the path begins at the root of your website, so when you upload the links might be something like.

Online FTP upload?

Hello. I have internet hosting and such undoubtedly with FTP installation for FTP software like Dreamwever, Cyberduck, and so forth. I know many soldiers in Afghanistan who would like to send several rather large video files to me. The easiest way to accomplish this is FTP. Then again, they don’t possess, nor can they have the software to start this since it is usually a shared computer these people use. They can access a dsl browser. So, the following is my question. Is there a website I can use to build FTP to upload straight to my server from a dsl browser Thanks with the help. I recognize you can FTP straight from IE. ftp: //user: passwordftpserver/url-path Isn’t ftp in IE limited for you to IE6 How big include the files What link speed do they have via my pc. If they have a 100MB+ files so are only allowed Half an hour on a computer which includes a crappy connection then they won’t have time for getting the files for you. In this case a good thing to do is usually put it on a cd and sent it for your requirements. I assume how the army post is … Continue reading

How to add these images aligned to text?

The following is a mockup of what I would like to achieve: The navigation now has the arrows on the left of the text, without the particular dividing line involving rows. I’d like the arrows being in the exact (far right) situation on each row – can there be a CSS method to achieve this This navigation piece is written in ASP. NET. I need to see the web page (how it truly is now)… give us a link to it. you possibly can always use an arrangement width for the element and a strong < li> class with a great arrow backround image aligned for the right then set each and possess a dotted edge under it spokanewebguy is usually right. This is how you’d handle it. Code: ul#whatever-you-called-that-menu li track record: URL(your-arrow-file-here. gif) center right no-repeat; coloration: inherit; /* possibly not necessary, but it preserves you from finding a warning when an individual validate your CSS */ Alternatively, you could potentially just include the arrows and your link text together long graphic and use Javascript and/or CSS for just about any mouseovers.
