Designing for mobile browsers
Well I have been previously thinking about the long run a bit with regards to mobile browsers and how they’re becoming more popular in people’s day to day lives, and still, the PC will still be around for as a minimum another 10 several years. With these thoughts planned, web designers need to satisfy both storage devices types over this time period, if certainly not longer. (I do use a question coming! ) Now I myself never have put any energy into supplying the css sheet with regard to " handhelds" in my sites, but lately We’ve been reconsidering, since basically I need that will! So on on the search engine MY SPOUSE AND I went. Gee, it’s actually not so simple as we basically face identical monotonous problem we’ve found with screen advertising, which is cross-browser if it is compatible!!!. From what I can see, it’s about to be another nightmare whenever they don’t get some standards choosing the hundreds associated with mobile browsers which will be clogging the world wide web. God help individuals! Our question: What on earth do you currently do to guide mobile devices using your sites From what I am aware, media=" handheld" just … Continue reading

rich text box
We have seen a variety of sites that make use of a rich text enhancing box and do not know how to accomplish this task. I have veiwed this source on many of these sites, and not surprisingly it isn’t easy to read as the source is commonly compressed. I used to be wondering a few reasons for these boxes. First how would you accomplish this. I have though about using hidden DIVs that agree to the input (much such as facebook uses pertaining to PM recipient boxes) But I am not sure that this may be a valid solution and also would require substantial amounts of scripting. Cost-free question that We have, is there any method to accomplish this process using standards compliant methods Thanks earlier. Some employ Flash, most utilize a mix of PHP and Javascripting… called AJAX. You will discover some examples together with: http: //ckeditor. com/ or maybe, http: //tinymce. moxiecode. com/ Those are free to make use of and mess-around by using. thanks on your reply.

Might anyone recommend a website that can supply traffic statistics in your site If your host has CPanel then you definately probably already include AWstats (the greatest IMO), Analog (the worst IMO because there’s way an excessive amount detaul on 1 page), and Webalizer (a classic). The host (eukhost. com) functions theLook controlpanel SEVERAL. 1 It’s got basic traffic statistics, but overall it’s quite poor. I’d like to gather more info such as cell phone browser versions, etc. Really, duh… i could just create a database myself as well as use good ol’ php! btw this was a very fast reply fil… kind regards! I remarkably recommend Pierre Far’s PHP Withstand 5. 1. The item produces AWESOME statistics, can echo again a visitor table, and is Really easy to install. Download it here. You’ll be able to view a sample in the results it makes here. (This is really a server I installed his script to test it out) You’ll be able to really customize the following counter. I set it in order that it ignores my IP address, so when WE check my web site after I redesign it, my repeated visits don’t skew this stats. (my favourite feature) … Continue reading

Are Flash sites worth the flashy?
Artistically flash sites look so great and are very rewarding on the designer but is he or she really worth the idea, is it better to guarantee the site can be loaded quickly with good search results code This is the completely testable proposition — and has become tested again…. along with again… and yet again. Flash, in began seeing it is more often than not used, lowers resolution, makes users give, and is quite as annoying to anyone as it is rewarding towards Flasher. Could Flash be included in a different approach, with far much better results Yes — but it surely is so alien into the way designers assume, it might in the process be impossible. There exists a Flash usability site (and SEO workarounds, as well as an Adobe accessibility kit page). They couldn’t become more invisible and repugnant towards the Flasher it that were encrypted along with put behind a firewall. This will depend…. its absolutely stupid to set-up a flash-only web page, as all the individuals without flash cant accessibility it. If people insist on using flash, you need to make a html-only version, which still has still content. Professionally, I don’t see the point … Continue reading
