Nicest Page Layout

What are the cleanest, easiest to help read layout (Font colour, Bg color, and anything that concerns that) All Love it if more want is what you would imagine the best looking layout would be. Thanks alot! 10pt Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif #000000 Natural on #FFFFFF bg Font Experience: 10pt Verdana, Tahoma, Arial Font Color: #000000 Font Properties: Normal Text : normal, headers — bold, links – underlined System BG: #FFFFFF WE agree. When you define your font size help it become relative so that it can be resized according towards visitors preference. WE use font-size: x-small to get my main wording and font-size: larger for my headings. 12 point is formally easiest to study… 10pt and persons over 50 should squint. But not surprisingly all of my page layouts are the ideal… duh! Not true… 12 pt. arial is technically harder to read since the font becomes bubbly as well as less discernable. ELEVEN pt. serif (times, or anything else. ) is the simplest to read on the net, but serif fonts usually are impossible to learn at 72 dpi. At 800 x 600 on the 17" monitor, 10pt arial is comparable to the size of text in a magazine. … Continue reading

HELP a beginner please

Howdy people, okay i’ve never design an online site before and I really believe I have lots of problems of this actual website. Is it possible guys tell my family improve it thanks that url is http: //www. geocities. com/adeluniwsc didi Fundamentally, your biggest problem i always see is your main content area. White/Orange text over a black background is murder for the eyes. You should try out for something that permits black text. Remember you can however keep it dark/worn (ala internet. wddg. com ) Also your page tears is a bit, well, strange. I think these are too short as well as too contrasty. Whatever the brand new background color is, the paper shreds must be pretty near to the same color. A cool idea could be to put all of the content on a sheet of paper with the particular corner torn off (and place the heading in it). The remaining design is great, coding is not necessarily well thought via. I would suggest losing the frames/iframe, whatever it really is and make the entire page scroll. In order to take the time to learn to code correctly manually , with Web Standards you might eliminate the … Continue reading

Your font-of-the-moment

When I become an added active designer Im finding myself suddenly inspired by fonts (talk about geeky). Every once in a while I see the font I’ve recognised about for more than a decade and all of the sudden realize it’s gloriousness. To do, Impact is having its toll in me. I merely love it… nothing additional to say. It’s actually a great bold font in which screams " GO THROUGH ME" For a little bit it was Clarendon, after that Georgia… now I’m back to good ol’ Consequence. What’s your font from the moment I’d like to collect a collection of great fonts. I find that hard to search the thousands out there… one at a period of time I can consider. CHANGE: Names of fonts… not necessarily actual fonts (meaning you should not break copyright rules) ONE. Century Gothic – At all times stylish/minamalistic general purpose sans-serif. ONLY TWO. Ariston – Used this for a project for any Dance/Ballet school (similar towards the typeface shown around the UK KFC adverts) THREE. Haettenschweiler – Large weight font using more character when compared with ‘Impact’ with a bit of an urban/old skool theme about it. – Trebushet MS for text … Continue reading

Text Fonts

The reason does everyone declare use Arial, Verdana or Tahoma It can not be for cross-compatability motives…. As far since im aware i have only seen Sans-Serif in addition to Courier on any non-windows OS. I would prefer to use Trebuchet MICROSOFT. As far as i’ll remember this font is installed on Windows 98 – Home windows XP, so why can’t I utilize it Hi See this thread and the references in them: http: //www. webdesignforums. net/showthread. phpt=15820.

Fonts

I wanted to find out what are typical web fonts that people can use to ensure everyone can find them…. Also what are most popular fonts to use, best looking etc Will be font that is needed here at WDF I always desired to find this out there. heheheh the font used here’s Trebuchet MS i recently found this though searching google… it may help – http: //www. accordmarketing. com/tid/archive/websafefonts. html document useful url, bookmarked. Nice! An outstanding article, Karianne, thanks. So to jbagley: this article and this thread (so far) talk about system fonts, and you could program them with your styles (note in which in html you may as well describe a font because " serif" or " sans serif" ). Although, when it reaches graphics, you have even more options to select. Similar rules of shapes are applicable in your graphics. It really varies according to the mood of the site you tend to be creatign. Typography can be a huge field! Some fonts I know people like to get graphics / nav night clubs… Sans serif… Futura, Gill Sans, Multitude, Tahoma. Serif… U . s citizens Typewriter, Garamond, Bookman Old Style.

Resolution of the text

Hi again, Folks! The following is another (probably dumb) just one: is there any route to make the font size affect all resolutions Or do you absolutely have to write in the beginning of your site, " optimized with the resolution" Thanx chuz Designate it in pixels Specifying it in em’s is more preferable. The em measure will depend on the text size on the current resolution, and it is defined as the width of the capital M (this is definitely from ye olde a short time of typography). Great line widths usually are approximately 30em wide. thanks… Is it possible to specify that in Dreamweaver Can you tell me how chuz. Code: … < head> < type type=" text/css" media=" screen" > p font: typical 0. 8em/130% tahoma, verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; < /style> < /head>… This uses the format of: weight, size, foremost, typeface(s). Code: < p> Lorem ipsum dolor take a seat amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. < /p> Try in the Dreamweaver’s code view for a bit. thanx!!! chuz. Trico, if they the leading complete 130% The 130% identifies the line height, and it is defined as the distance concerning the base in the line to the … Continue reading

Hey guys My business is new to that forum. I made an affiliate site for my business brand new ago and something isn’t convincing me concerning this. I basicaly want this url for information about the services we provide. I have plans on adding more later on. I would like some critique on my first internet site and please well then , i’ll know what Allow me to do to enhance it. Thanks Here’s the site: > > Push Here< < A big green and dark-colored for my taste… and the constant flicking belonging to the home page swf can get annoying. I do think you have the correct idea, but since it’s a site for specialized medical information/services more of any ‘hospital’ look may be better than your ‘fluorescant nightclubish’ glance. I sort of expected Mr. Melts away (Springfield Nuclear Electrical power Plant) for you to pop in in addition to greet me. These have that sort with green, radiation plasma form thing going. I realize J. Dot….. a bit more pastel and sanitary look can be better. And also I totally detest frames (my personal opinion). Parallel your " full" meta tags, the particular search robots will receive … Continue reading

Modern??

As soon as someone says MODERN LOOK what can they really mean (if you can share a couple URLs I’d appreciate it) I believe others will (and should ) help to increase this, but within my book, today’s looks is your white background, slim lines, sans serif fonts (very important), fresh and uncluttered, with lots of space. Notice i always said nothing related to colours, because I believe this varies an excess of. Expect this helps. I always think about a modern website as a modern house. Modern, if you will probably. Clean, non-cluttered. Perhaps light colors. Pastel colors. I am sick of scanlines, incidentally. They seem being cliche now. You might have a " modern" glimpse without them. Maybe I shouldn’t be talking though simply because my site is known for a background grid… Or simply " modern" is often a site that doesn’t seem like it was created in 1998.
