Why isn’t code validity stressed here?

Hi, I am new to this site. The other website development forum I typical highly stresses legitimate and up-to-date value. I can recognize why. — Validation nearly would ensure site accessibility. – Proper validation helps make your code cleaner plus much more easily readable. – Validation shows which the developer understands this importance of standards-compliance. – Writing valid code shows which you care what articles reaches your website visitors. Etc, et cetera. However, after browsing by way of a few threads the following, I saw site written in broken HTML 4. 0, eyeglasses, Flash content, and also table layouts provided the thumbs. Why is always that they continue to learning. Thats the reason they posting that here….. I had been on my huge horse about online standards. Everything were required to validate, everything needed to be perfect code or maybe it was nonsense.. That was befor WE relized that webstandards will not make you funds. At least possibly not in and associated with itself. Must i code with webstandards Without a doubt, always. Does the client care Not any.. They just really want their site to work and make all of them money or yield traffic. So will WE do … Continue reading

This morning I got offered an interview having a company for whom We would be required to create catalogues, branding plus general graphic style solutions. Over the discussion, the employer asked plainly had any experience of updating websites. At present My organization is in the original stages of learning Dreamweaver so when I told your ex this, he said he thought that upgrading websites through Photoshop was an even more common method, as opposed to using DW. I was wanting to know if anyone would be able to tell me more about it PS method I have never heard of it, although I have got to stress that at this time I am a complete beginner in terms of aspects of web site design. Apologies plainly am missing some thing obvious or this topic has become covered before What would you mean by " update" There are many ways to change content, upload documents, over-write images, banners, and many others. I have this website: State-of-the-art Natural – The actual World’s Best Healthy Health Products Bu I want to have bordered content boxes on the left like this specific website: Herbal Remedies and Natural remedies for ADD ADHD Stress and More Just how do i do that Primary, I’d advise you use a distinguish stylesheet, for lots of reasons. CSS allows you to separate from. It’s even doable to have multiple style sheet, helping you to have more than one way of displaying a page. If the entire style information is actually held within a good external style sheet, it is possible to edit that certain file and create changes (such since changing background and/or wording colours) across a total site and not touch a solo HTML file. Today, to your question: Make a new div for each box you would like to style with the particular border – call it sidebox and also something equally descriptive. your html can be something like: Code: < div class=" left" > < div class=" sidebox" > < h2> HEALTH AND WELLBEING ISSUES< /h2> < br/> < /div> <! — finish sidebox –> < div class=" sidebox" > < pick class=" combobox" name=" SiteMap" … Continue reading

Am I crazy? How much should I charge?

Is definitely putting 30-40 hours in to a 10 page website a lot of I’ve been told that we take too long while using coding, but My organization is a stickler regarding detail and Let me edit everything to the last pixel, and Let me cross-browser test till everything is best. Bottom line, I try and think of myself because the client and precisely what would I end up being happy with- an economical, sloppy design or a expensive, professional pattern Naturally, I are likely to gravitate towards obtaining extra, because I know ultimately it will demand less updating, less fixing. But, the people I work with will email me every day inquiring about the project status of course , if I take more than a couple days (I function 6 hour days), they start forcing me and telling me You want to speed up just for them to send something on the client. And also this 30-40 hours is for going out of PSD to HTML- stuffed with content and almost everything. In other words, when I’m executed, the site is prepared live. Is that too much effort I just want to make sure I’m not charging they want … Continue reading

Website looks/acts different after being uploaded

Quite simply I put an image with the side of this page, peeking out from behind the textual content. It looks good if i check it locally (file –> wide open, etc), but right after uploading it, it image is pushed up to the right. Additionally, the sliding banner of snap shots breaks in Chrome (but exclusively after uploading, it is fine locally). What is considered causing this The way it looks locally in Opera/IE/Firefox/Chrome How it takes care of uploading in Opera/IE/Firefox How it takes care of uploading in Chrome(I zoomed out to have the whole picture) The particular CSS The particular HTML (I taken out the lorem ipsum intended for viewing convenience) The particular uploaded website When it makes any difference, I’m importing through HostMantis by using CPanel. It has related to this: #sidebar padding-left: 790px; elevation: 384px; position: absolute; margin-top: -500px; z-index: -1; But I’m uncertain of which part. Start removing elements and see what happens. Okay, WHEN I removed the height. The rest tend to be pretty necessary. I recently can’t understand the reason why it looks fine through the file, but definitely not when it’s downloaded. I’ve also tested out moving the < div id=" … Continue reading
