Reading stats in AWstats
I was going through my stats affected person, as you can. I was investigating one of my favourite sections the actual " Connect to help site from". We were looking at the stats and one thing I cant come up with (and yes We have RTFM but didn’t find any benchmark to it) seemed to be what the TWO sets of numbers close to each URI suggest. For example: Can anyone enlighten me about what the numbers mean This really is bothering me. Webpages / Hits I have no idea how AWStats separates hits/pages, though. Ah hah! Cheers Brak. From the AWstats page: http: //awstats. sourceforge. net/docs/awstats_glossary. html Webpages: The amount of " pages" logged. Only files in which don’t match an entry from the NotPageList config parameter (and fit an entry connected with OnlyFiles config parameter if used) are measured as " Pages". Ordinarily pages are set-aside for HTML information or CGI data, not images nor other files requested due to loading a " Page" (like js, css… files). Hits: Any files requested from the server (including files that happen to be " Pages" ) except the ones that match the SkipFiles config parameter. How can we really have … Continue reading

SOS diffic-ulty hosting my web page
A number of call me the space cowboy, some name me the gangster associated with love. Most name me J. I’ve been studying website development for sometime and also have devoured many publications (mostly O’Reilly) over the last few months and get gotten an excellent grasp of web design, Xhtml, CSS, plus a little Java Script. Fortunately a buddy has given us a spot in his server to be able to experiemnt with. I’m also carrying out a project for his site with his guidance. Immediately after uploading several web pages onto the node using WS FTP, I tried to obtain the page for you to display online; zero dice. When the page displays all the images are damaged, to further discombobulate me as well as the address bar demonstrates a local correct (what’s up with that) What am I disregarding something Has this kind of ever happened that will anyone else This appears like a great forum with numerous great info hopefully someone might help. Thank you. Any chance you might give us some sort of URI so we can take a look What software do you think you’re using to make your pages More than likely, all src … Continue reading

404 .htaccess problem…
Upon my website (using Zen Cart) I am having problems with the 404 forwarding. It works so long as the wrong address is similar to this: Will there be a way I’ll make this work to ensure if a person types in: they are brought to: Many thanks. I think you could probably set way up an ErrorPage instruction that points it on the appropriate page. Accurate me if I’m wrong, but I’m not sure you can use. htaccess to validate the existence of a URL from a query string. I’m thinking you would have to use PHP to complete that, and to indicate an error page should the requested one isn’t going to exist. You may then use. htaccess to change that specific page into a proper 404 fault page. Good, I believe what exactly he was saying was which the software he’s applying already handles the particular wrong-querystring situation, but he also would like to handle the real 404 situation. The ErrorPage directive helps you specify an change URI for whenever 404s occur, so it should do just as well just fine. Oh yea yeah, I misread the particular post, thinking that he were going to rewrite the … Continue reading
Is it possible to control the order in which items on my page load?
Concept basically says all of it. I need the background upon my site for you to load first. Is this possible The following is a link: Chrysalismusic. net/tour. html document You missed a in your URI, try Chrysalismusic. net/tour. html document Well you would need to preload the graphic. Use CSS as well as JavaScript. http: //www. ilovejackdaniels. com/css/preloading-images-with-css/ You are using < table> verts… so Together with IE, nothing is displayed until that < table> can be loaded. So that you could break down things into small tables. That would gain some control with the loading. Obviously, CSS would be the right way for the site layout. This background image is definitely huge… so almost no to do there except break it suitable few images assemble. The opaque thing one does on that background image can be accomplished with CSS… which makes it unnecessary to vary that background photograph.
