form verify
what would be your best way of verifying whether a user has filled in every the fields of your form… javascript or another script.. Appears like a very uncomplicated javascript function. Let me know if you want assistance with this. yer in the event you wouldnt mind nocloset Within your < form> tag, include an onsubmit attribute like this: < variety onsubmit=" return validate(this); " > Then you’ll want to write a verify function. The exact written content depends on what kind of validation you wish to perform, but here’s a good example that assumes you have a < input type=" text" name=" mytextbox" > somewhere within your form: perform validate(myform) in the event (myform. mytextbox. value == " " ) notify (" You must add a value with regard to mytextbox. " ); returning false; returning true; If you want something more stylish than this, maybe you can work together by email. Let me personally know. just say we have these fields throughout my form name email telephone responses may wanna add: mytextbox. focus(); once alert. only small change.

Now immediately I added some sort of link somewhere while in the page and these have completly messed it all up. It can be fine in Firefox, that’s a surprise. This occassion the problem is within IE. Can anyone look at www. danieloliver. net on Web Explorer and view what they think can be wrong I cannot find anything. TDs in place for grabs. Desprete. Regards, Daniel Oliver. i’m getting lost down the middle of your tds and image names devoid of meaning, it looks like IE is attempting to give the cell a height cost, try setting the value yourself if an individual didnt already, try deleting the actual link and determine if it corrects the situation. I managed delete the connection. I compeltly re-did it all. And its removed really strange. Tried what people said but didnt often work. W3C validation
I became wondering how the majority of you make in force W3C websites. I did a search by using yahoo for internet site design and I cecked the initial 10 companies detailed and none of these are W3C legitimate. How important it really is that the web pages you create are usually W3C valid All my sites comform towards the W3C specifications. I think it is significant more people start designing their web sites with web standards. Although I do not believe that it is vital that that they " vailidate" for the W3C validator. When you have attempted to get near it then sometimes that could be well enough. The validator is merely to check as a result of your work. It doesn’t detect everything. If your webblog validates it doesn’t mean your site conforms to the online standrds. For example We’ve designed a internet site with tables to support present the system, something which may be known as a big no no in lots of web standard advocate’s eye balls, and still got it to confirm. You are advised not to do so having tables and use then only for tabular data. People not prepared change from utilizing … Continue reading

Recommendations?
I’m really not sure where in order to post this, so I apologize if it’s not in the section. I have been doing xhtml, and css for approximately half a calendar year, and was thinking what area I should focus on learning next. I am really weak within the programming department, and it’s time with luck to learn any scripting language (client or perhaps server side). I have done a certain amount of javascript, such as utilizing it in mouserovers about image maps, but thats concerning this. I honestly have difficulty coming up with things to do with javascript, period. I know it really is used for files validation, but the many useful website features need a server side scripting terms. I would like to continue improving my web expertise, but I have no clue where to move from here… Regarded as a learn asp, aspx, php, javascript, or maybe do most site developers buy screenplays, and just learn the basics (installing them). I am completely lost. What kind of skills does it take to obtain a job, as any web-developer, or web-programmer, or what skills does an individual need to initial their own web company I understand I’m no-where … Continue reading

Why isn’t code validity stressed here?
Hi, I am new to this site. The other website development forum I typical highly stresses legitimate and up-to-date value. I can recognize why. — Validation nearly would ensure site accessibility. – Proper validation helps make your code cleaner plus much more easily readable. – Validation shows which the developer understands this importance of standards-compliance. – Writing valid code shows which you care what articles reaches your website visitors. Etc, et cetera. However, after browsing by way of a few threads the following, I saw site written in broken HTML 4. 0, eyeglasses, Flash content, and also table layouts provided the thumbs. Why is always that they continue to learning. Thats the reason they posting that here….. I had been on my huge horse about online standards. Everything were required to validate, everything needed to be perfect code or maybe it was nonsense.. That was befor WE relized that webstandards will not make you funds. At least possibly not in and associated with itself. Must i code with webstandards Without a doubt, always. Does the client care Not any.. They just really want their site to work and make all of them money or yield traffic. So will WE do … Continue reading

.htaccess redirect?
i’m having to redirect users considering their. htaccess authentication. ex girlfriend or boyfriend: user craig will be redirected to internet site. com/private/craig any non-complicated way to accomplish this with. htaccess, or any alternatives that will be just when secure everyone You can use PHP to cooperate with. htaccess authentication, therefore you can easily accomplish forwards with that. The best tutorial i always settle for is at http: //www. zend. com/zend/tut/authentication. php such as code. Anticipation this helps. Thank you, I’m still a little bit too newb for your though.: / Newb and also not, you need to learn these points! . htaccess was never designed to individually screen people. To do of which, you need a basic database, plus a script that determines user inputs next to privileges stored from the database. (This is simple enough. ) The validation part plus redirection, is pure code (we’ll enable you to with that part). What you’re homework ought to be, is how believe organize such some sort of database. What sort of information don’t you think is needed in that user database, and what criteria can you think would confirm a screened login What combination of criteria should redirect a clear user … Continue reading

Comments on my new site please…
I want to hear comments from you guys.. thanks http: //exsite. freehostingnow. com/ You could start to in the alternative subforum Well nevertheless, I like the structure, although the old one looks like it’s somewhat better. You’re still heavy on tables and use it in your header, which in turn sounds funny, consequently… either a) handcode your own sites (something almost all clients expect you to do) or b) don’t use it in the header. I’m confused, though… You haven’t hit the balance between image content and text… Many whitespace wasted… I can’t read any belonging to the text in your header area — I’m using IE7 ——————————- RalphF Names & $4. 99 World wide web Hosting http: //www. GoldRushWebHosting. com Looks kinda dated to my opinion. I don’t like the giant white box for your portfolio section, and think that the about text should be a tad lighter in weight. Lose the validation tags, a small number people will care, plus you needs to be using XHTML, not really HTML. Your logo banner isn’t horrendous, but it is not great either. I accept Steax on that wasted space. Why use tables for a great simple layout CSS/DIV’s could be … Continue reading

In-Style Stuff
Patient around for a long time, checking out web sites, and I have witnessed the revolutionary change between Thumb pages and CSS, and it seems that XHTML and also CSS are overtaking ‘traditional’ ways of web design, which often include Flash and Javascript (). Therefore… I’m wondering. What on the globe is ‘in-style’ nowadays of web design Many thanks, Company Probably the best revolution, in my personal view, in recent years has been the improvement inside " user experience" which has come about due to what is now commonly referred to as AJAX, the use of the XMLHttpRequest API by Javascript to contact the server as when necessary, not (as previously) only when submitting a form or clicking a new link, and then being capable to act on them. While i started in IT an entire WWW concept decided not to exist and we were still programming job applications in 132×21 greatest VT220 greenscreen. That has been Oracle Forms 2 (not 2. THREE, that was additional advanced – you’d macros in you, for those this remember those halcyon a short time; -)) but you might validate upon gain access to and act upon things… so if, for example, you went … Continue reading
Starting up an online store
Hello everyone, I’m signing up for my first position for building a store from the ground up. I’ve been doing a pinch of research, and I’ve found some things to carry out but I’m not sure what else MY SPOUSE AND I should include. Other than SSL Certificates, kind validation, and keeping my PHP risk-free, what other technology / styles ought to be a incorporate in creating this online store Additionally, can anyone reccomend me a great credit card processing service to use / point me inside the right direction with a " how to" to code a great thing Bless you I would advocate not building your personal store. Many say things including " Keeping my personal PHP secure" — but do you know what the entails Aside from keeping your server & packages informed, walling in this server appropriately, encoding information correctly and config’ing your php to become safe…. There’s items like CSRF attacks & XSS injections that take a good amount of architectural experience in order to avoid. And then an overview, never trusting end user input, protecting against mysql injection, and so forth. Do you know the laws to your country & state regarding information and … Continue reading
