Trying To Understand Subdomains

Hello there, I hope someone provide me some tips.

Concerning an existing website that I am looking at expanding so My business is looking at subdomains.

My existing web site has been optimized for any specific search term and My organization is happy with the actual ranking that Google etc. has placed me at.

This questions:

If my original web site already exists seeing that (mywebsite. com), what should i go about changing to accomodate a fresh subdomain

ie: Does my original web site now become (originalsearchterm. mywebsite. com) after which you can the new enlargement (newsearchterm. mywebsite. com)

Does every last page of the original web site need to reflect the fresh subdomain change

I am aware of that subdomains should be designed to always be self contained websites so that the particular spiders won’t penalize my rankings. Would creating these subdomains drop my existing internet site into Google’s sandbox for a time or would it be left alone Also how would this specific change affect every link partners I may have

Regards for your assistance.: nervous:

What I’d do is within your footer just connect to your new subdomain, NEVER CHANGE YOUR EXISTING MAIN PAGE, that is critical you are previously ranking so just leave it, just add a link to the footer on the page and then it’ll get indexed equally fast, if it were me I’d register a completely domain then build a page on a subdomain allow it to get indexed next 301 redirect into the new domain. best of luck

I agree with Canada. Just reside have anewsearchterm. mywebsite. com does not always mean you have for you to change the older one to original. Just keep it because it is, without any subdomain.
