Ive built one page for a web site constructor – and I realize these are crappy.
I now have very basic code understanding (slighlty understanding css)
My question is what will be the BEST web site editor program make use of My friend recommended Dreaemweaver 8: I downloaded some sort of trial version and up loaded a pre-made template which was in html & Css. Dreamweaver seems incredibly complicated (and expensive easily want to obtain it)
So why is it consequently expensive Is coffee beans cup, homesite or FrontPage every different Ive heard bad reasons for FrontPage but confused why everyone would seem so down about it. Ive also utilized Frontpage to edit a generic template and it seemed easier in comparison with dreamweaver. Does Frontpage mess while using code somehow MY SPOUSE AND I heard they use unnecessary code generating SEO difficult.
Anyway- any insight is great – I’d prefer to choose A SINGLE editor and stay with it! Right now Im trying a lot of different programs as well as its confusing myself.
Dreamweaver is fine only should you stay in this Code view. The minute you use the WYSIWYG editor inside any program will be moment you end thinking " how do i want my web site structured" and begin thinking " how do i want my page to look. " This rubs contrary to the grain of semantic web design.

I absolutely believe Filbert and Karinne. I really like Dreamweaver because that " finishes our sentences" so that will speak. For instance, if I’m working on my stylesheet and need to use ‘text-align: cener’, easily type ‘te’, it’s going to automatically match ‘te’ to ‘text-align’ after which it ask me where I’d prefer to align the text. It definitely helps make thing move along more quickly. I use Frontpage sometimes too, but solely in code manner. I think Frontpage is the best way to start before you truly understand coding. I used to use the WYSIWYG part of it and then have a look at the code to view what was occurring. It helped my home tremendously.
I am aware you’re talking about a web site page editor just like Dreamweaver, but in my
individual opinion, you should use Notepad and accomplish your sites manually ,.
of course… you’re probably stating " yikes! "… but should you get one site done with all the HTML
as well as CSS using Notepad, you basically have the general " template" to make any
other sites simply.
The coding is wash, simple, no more unnecessary code or even white space…

The hardest component about web development to do is the artwork. I’m not good

Using Notepad is okay, but Dreamweaver isn’t going to insert any more code or whitespace. Using it’s code look at, it’s exactly like Notepad except that it color codes what you should make them easier to find out and helps conclude your lines seeing that I mentioned with my previous place. You can choose not to use these selections, although they you should not make any semantic difference while in the code.
Frontpage is good being a ‘learner’ but it generates a great deal of messy code that no doubt wouldn’t pass validation. I’ve just found out about a new free editor called NVU — haven’t actually tried it yet but it may be worth a chance.. Just Google " NVU" and it’s the first result : seems it’s the authority site by the extra links there then it should be at least relatively useful!
I’d say you used a bad web site constructor.
People are moving faraway from DW and FP as well as just designing templates for a number of the many CMS to choose from. Notepad etc is great to the templates but too slow to build a site using all it’s handiness and SEO includes.
Just chose the most approapriate CMS.
Er… I’ll have to help completely disagree on that point. A number of sites (many, even) just don’t match the CMS unit. They fit into the I want my website to accomplish this like THIS’, something that is best achieved with dedicated design.
I completely believe Shadowfiend and I couldn’t have mentioned it better by myself. Most of our clients’ needs simply just aren’t possible via a CMS.
CMSs are fine when all you want is a clear request-and-display site. But most people now want additional… they want all sorts of interactive and made to order stuff which usually has to be hand-coded. Actually right now, CMSs seem to be fallbacks for slicing the budget on making sites…
While I agree how the site can’t just be 100% standard CMS code but it needs a great deal of custom development, the CMS can easily still play a crucial role. Just the last week or 2 I’ve written a custom articles mod, the sweepstakes mod, the user management mod, the categories mod, the coupon (image) mod, and probably your mod I’m forgetting simply for one site. It’s a great deal of custom development, yet as it’s bundled with our CMS, it still lets your client define the site content and even the behavior with a extent.
Health club, I hate giving an individual control over site content because they’ll usually screw up the form or layout. I can’t count the amount of times a buyer was allowed to place arbitrary HTML or maybe rich formatting upon their site just to fill them up with a pile of formatting that completely clashed when using the design.
