Shopping Cart Languages

Hello there, i searched, maybe not adequate… but here is a simple and to the point question:

I’m sure CSS and HTMl adequately. I want to start out developing shopping cart’s, as opposed to using developers. I’m sure that there are generally multiple languages for this and I narrowed it because of two:

  1. PHP
  2. ASP

I realize PHP cost less (free), but they may be to me this pages designed in ASP run quicker, but i’m unsure.

: which language on earth do you recommed learning

I voted PHP only because you will find more free/shareware pieces of software available,
plus more support available. For someone beginning, help is the important asset.

You possibly can pop into many different forums and find a great deal of experience with
X-Cart, CubeCart… at and on.

i’d complement php, much additional support and zero cost scripts

hmm… intriguing… i agree although, i started learning CSS thirty days ago and support was invaluable. Though CSS is much much easier than PHP! I’m sure that settles the idea, i’m just visiting go the PHP road… any recommended readings that you simply guys know of We were even thinking of taking a course with a college… just being professionally trained you know…

Hmm, MY PARTNER AND I actually think PHP can be easier than CSS, because if you have mistakes, it’s probably with your logic or format. Whereas with CSS, when you make a slip-up, it’s probably as a result of some weird aspect effect of some property that you simply set, and it usually is way too nearly impossible to find what’s causing the actual mistake.

hmm… valid point!: speechless:

i basically just bought this particular book on Amazon:

" PHP along with MySQL Web Advancement "

Anyone heard of it or anything about this It got beneficial user reivews on Amazon…

0672326728

being more specific

Here’s an excellent one if our interested.

PHP may be a scripting language, CSS may be a style sheet markup for HTML.

Everyone program in PHP, possibly not in CSS.

hmm… appears to be interesting! Yet, they may be more advanced than what We are… because realistically, a common thing i be familiar with PHP is that:

< php
comprise (‘blahblah’);
>

Use of said anything in relation to programming, raspberryh just indicated that PHP is likely to be easier than CSS due to the fact errors were easier to get. Nothing to do with a brand new a programming words or not, in which

MODIFY: Although according for you to wikipedia’s broader definition of the programming language accomodates CSS like a language just fine.

sorry, MY PARTNER AND I lost my head.

Hahaha. Very little worries

haha, happens to me everyday!!

PHP is free of charge and easy to setup on your loacal machiene plus run with Apache server that is also free…

You may also mix PHP and MySQL that’s also free to offer you a very powerful tool package!!..

PHP is quite like Perl that will has had an incredibly strong precence in IT for many years and looks as if it will stay like that…

PHP Apache along with MySQL all possess a strong industry precence…

UNIX servers that in my experience are more reliable almost constantly run PHP… Commonly windows servers can too…

CSS kicks serious ass should you arnt reasnobly expert in CSS you’ll receive blown out of the water by other sellers… The briliant thing with CSS would it be doesnt have to be a steep finding out curve, you can start incorporating more and more into your html because you get more adept…

I learnt PHP purely by making use of Google to locate tips / faq and syntax (php. net)

Books are pretty crap until you have them in an electronic form because anyone cant search these folks… and even then have grown limited…

Learning PHP is a lot like learning any other language as well as the steps go something similar to:

As well as a hello world script…

Understand types…

Understand flow control…

Learn POST and get methods…

Start looking up many of the massive array involving PHP functions available with a standard instillation….

Using online tutorials take a look at functions specific for you to MySQL….

After all this you may or may not want to start looking into the merchandise orientated side associated with PHP, if you havent flirted about it already…

That’s it! easy!

Enjoy yourself -Hagen.
