Layers Vs. Layout tables in Dreamweaver

alright, I understand the actual concepts mostly of the right way to use both along with I find Layers less of a challenge to get around with many times. I use layout tables just for sliced up photos or big photographs with smaller rollover parts. When I take a look at other people’s web pages in Dreamweaver WHEN I find them to get comprised usually of layout tables. The key disadvantages of Levels I find is usually they use absolute positioning therefore , the relativity of your page is definitely the same. I like this though it does make your page must be smaller than the actual screen on med-high quality monitor settings. The big downside I find that will layers though is actually always top priorities over javascript side effects like drop down menus. I can’t fit drop down menus above anything in a very layer because the menu always drops behind the coating. I just are unable to make the drop down menu take priority. Hi, I’m working away at an update involving my school house website and required your opinions at how it appearance, the house coloration is pink — hence the shapes and colours used! I also want some advice on which fonts would look great, thanks beforehand, Solidgold look it over Im not a huge fan. I’d personally possibly go with a solid grey background as opposed to more stripes. As well, there is a black circle in the middle of the text spot in Firefox. Caring I just seen, is that this page scrolls if it doesnt really need to, and there is definitely no border for the top of the underside pink section, which i think would make the website look a tiny better, since the good news is border on the most notable pink section. It does not align properly with Firefox, and there may be horizontal and directory scrolling for no reason. As well, having stripes likely one direction with the top and bottom on the page, and stripes opting another at the center, is a bit of a distraction. Make this solid. When I exposed it on my browser at your house, which is much smaller compared to browser I designed coursesmart on I found it looked a lot worse! Even though I designed coursesmart to be at most 800 pixels broad, the page appeared huge and I’d to scroll to view everything. So I fixed to revamp the site to be flexible or liquid, and reduce the absolute positioning. I thought that this was a rspectable goal until I realized each cell phone has different glitches or shortcomings when it comes to CSS! A fluid design that appears correct in World-wide-web Explorer doesn’t look correct in Firefox, the other that displays appropriately in Firefox would not look right in Internet Explorer. absolute or relative positioning?

hi. Im really confused relating to this. I have started building a website in dreamweaver using a table. I have centered the dining room table. The challenge starts when i attempt to using layers. I need to layer quite a few text over the image. If i use absolute positioning the text will forever remain at some sort of fixed point next time i resize the browser (which is pointless). When i employ relative positioning layer will never lie together with the image. It is very frustrating. can someone offer a sugguestion please gives thanks. Make the image a background image of the table, or dump the actual table and learn how to use divs. Putting text together with an image described in HTML is never the way to do it. Including Eddy said, the best ways to put word over an graphic is you fill out an application that image as a background. I strongly propose you dump the table in addition and go CSS up! Backgrounds? Absolute Positioning? Z Layers?

The mockup for a website I’m building. I have fundamental CSS knowledge with regards to formatting and these, but this is usually my first work for balance completely laying out and about a page like that.
