Website not working on different computers

Properly I thought because PHP is 100 % platform independant that would never happen nevertheless the site I do for your club in town (http: //www. westclub. company. uk) dosen’t actually workon any in the computers in the offices Has anyone actually cam across anything like this before It look that sometimes you can find just pages of code coming up when people click links and the links that happen to be a included track are just definitely not benig recognised while anchors! Coursesmart, including anchors, works fine for me in Moz Firebird. Were encourage using the identical browser What visitor were they applying (including version) mmm, was explorer may have been 5 in a push butwas a lot of likley 6. Bewildering isn’t it I used to be quite embarassed while i went in to show the staff tips on how to use the forums and it also didn’t work with thier offices! I’m bewildered how this will likely happen in PHP. Using some pages in the forums as opposed to it $_POSTing your details it just brought up pages like there seemed to be no PHP interpreter installed about the server! CMS concept turn…

My own Content Management System has taken a big turn. After looking through the book Coming up with the Obvious, that we found quite enlightening, I chose to drop superficial techniques, and reduce it for the bare basics. The objective of this CMS can be kinda different. It’s directed at developers to easily attach a CMS to somewhat of a design. It’s main purpose will probably be for my private projects, of lessons, but it’ll be free. A huge makeover was about the menu system. I boiled it as a result of simple " catagories" depending on the pages independantly, and developers simply attach PHP functions in place of those menus. There are still things, though. . Considering that menus are made, they only output something such as this: HTML: < ul id=" menuID" class=" customclass" > < li id=" menuID-1" > < your href=" url/" > Palate Item 1< /a> < /li> < li id=" menuID-2" > < your href=" other/" > Palate Item 2< /a> < /li> < /ul> This makes the CMS form of a purist. Additional attributes is often applied by the actual designer, but certainly not the structure once more. I know a number of … Continue reading

News Page?

Hi all. I’ve designed, if I might say so personally, a pretty effective looking website that features a fair whack involving content. I would prefer to design some sort of news page that may be updated (I make use of Dreamweaver), where all of the news is saved on one page, so each articl would not needa seperate site (that’d take my home forever). I dreamed about anchors, because you can give each article a seperate ‘URL’ and you also can link to any component to the page, but can there be another way to complete it Anchors are not difficult, but someone I know has used these folks already… Just about any advice Cheers, NFan. P. VERTS: Any ideas regarding how I might get a comments sytem doing the job Is it your own news, or could it be news from additional web sites I’m sort of thinking of PHP that will display the reports… in a uncomplicated way. Wordpress http: //www. wordpress. org Feel free to use customized CMS utilizing PHP & Java script or simply just download and custom-made WordPress. You will want to do it began seeing I’ve done it. http: //www. godaycare. com/childcarearticles Have got … Continue reading

website flickering in IE7

Hello there, When I preview this pages in IE7 as well as ‘flickers’ when POST click my links. (everything is usually fine in FF, of course) My main navigation bar consists of anchors with backdrop images applied by CSS. The masthead, body bg along with footer all take advantage of background images used through CSS also. It also feels to happen whenever a regular < img> tag is needed as well. This definition of, " the images around the page, mostly system – i. age. body bg, masthead, footer bg and many others, blink out and visit or I will even see a fast horizontal white bar flash along the width of the particular screen (the horizontal bar is never inside same place in addition to varies in size). " Concerning searched for hours and get not found a solution that works 100%, possibly there isn’t just one. The best solution Concerning found so significantly is: Code: < meta http-equiv=" Page-Enter" content=" revealtrans(duration=0. 0)" /> < meta http-equiv=" Page-Exit" content=" revealtrans(duration=0. 0)" /> this will reduce most of a ‘flicker’. Although the masthead bg graphic continues to ‘flicker’ when i click any associated with my links. I am done trying … Continue reading

My Site looks REALLY different in IE to firefox.

Hello there. I was hoping someone could possibly help with a dilemma i’m having. I’m aware you will find differences between how IE and FF display webpages but the very few pages I’ve made differ vastly! I’m by far from experienced in web design but I’ve made a few sites recently and never had such results. I’m building a website for my own girlfriends art (which is definitely what i’m focusing on but haven’t obtained it hosted yet) that, when loaded within IE, displays every one of the text to the particular left and completely ignores the type of my div keepers. The same provides happened with a different website I knocked up quickly, its table based compared with divs but it suffers a similar problem as the site i created with regard to my girlfriend. An example of this issue is here (in internet explorer) but its more painful when i make an effort to view the site i’ve made for my GFs art work (which i utilised div tags and also have put more work into coding, cdl. co. uk is rather naff i admit) Might anyone help Cheers in advance! Well, at least anyone admitted your program … Continue reading

Noob with a Dilemma

Howdy Everyone I won’t even be in the right place because of this but ya gotta start off somewhere, right We have a word doc which includes a checklist. This checklist is definitely a table that was inserted into the word doc to keep everything in order. Beside each step is often a link to a web page (we will call the web page " Instructions" ) which tells anyone how to do the steps in the checklist. What I’d like to do is niagra: Once the user clicks to the link from concept doc, I would like it to not only take the consumer to the Instructions website (which it does now) but to the start of the paragraph which instructs them how to proceed – so they need not search through that document/web page. If I could possibly somehow find step by step instructions on how in achieving this, I would become really happy. I’ve tried gets and bookmarks but nothing appears to be working for myself. Any suggestions Single point tags is just what you need Here’s a good explanation ( that part about exterior linking ), http: //www. echoecho. com/htmllinks08. htm Ooooh OK – I used … Continue reading

Advice for a newbie – adding anchors to scrolling elements?

My sister and I are looking to create a website like this: http: //www. pauljnoble. com/ The leading function of the website is usually to display articles inside chapters. The Chapters as well as articles will substitute the portfolio written content of Paul’s web page. We are thinking the chapters will become vertically aligned and that the articles will probably go horizontally. We would like each content to contain advertising share buttons. What is the best way to try and do this The articles would be the same style, though the layout of each will be slightly different. What is the terminology that describes these scrolling pages Is he webpages Blocks Partitions Panes Component of the problem is the fact I just do not have all the verbiage down yet. There has to be any reason this javascript wouldn’t allow for the articles to scroll similar way the photographs do thanks for ones help. This will probably be a rough couple weeks Away from curiosity, how long don’t you think it would take an experienced person to layout a website like that using content that shouldn’t get finalized for some more weeks We are hitting the guides hard and chipping … Continue reading
