newb Q: images split up into tables

the key reason why do some pages have images/banners which have been divided up directly into tables what are advantages does the particular page load quciker and just how do i recreate that in dreamweaver im betting that its to do with the split device in photoshop basically i dont understand what they are, what they’re for and how to make ’em thanks in advance phil Several years ago, if you split images along the major lines involving color division, you could reduce file size significantly. Also, by means of splitting the photograph into multiple items, it could end up being assembled one piece at a time so that psychologically, the page doesn’t take so long to load. Those rules don’t apply the maximum amount today, because obtain speeds are considerably faster. If you could do it, though, make sure you specify a for your so that page doesn’t perform the " stretch and squeeze" consequence when loading. While using the slice tool throughout photoshop. Why people love doing this, are mainly the belief that you can create any design possible, this looks great, as opposed to having to pattern in boring platforms. When you slice up the particular image, … Continue reading

It seems every design i make isn’t up to par. help plz.

it seems that every style i make doesn’t speak to the standards of the users of WDF, i am never flaming them, just wondering precisely what my downfall is so i can alter. I ussually style and design with angles, several angles, should i stick to a flowing design as an alternative to a jagged design Incorporating images seems to present me trouble, will there be any tips you are able to give me on this for a notion of my designs i may attach a file and offer you the link to help my site. world wide web. deltawebdesigns. net Your designs usually are not bad. One problem you will be having is not enough content, it is incredibly easier to create any layout is you have a bunch of content to put in it. The first one anyway is a very good start, even though prehaps a little unpolished (I’ve viewed much worse, bejesus, I have made MUCH worse ) I believe you’re problem can be too many sides. We have assigned you many suggestions within the other thread you started. You may first want to begin with a color system. Find a handful of colors that work … Continue reading

Tips for my site?

Without doubt, Just started my first site ever for my friend unreal tourneyment mod, and i wanted to know if you guys had virtually any tips towards increasing it http: //chobo. wc3campaigns. com/ I love the design however I’d personally consider aligning this center box with the naviagtion boxes for the left and proper, maybe decrease a bit for the content in this center box aswell, so it goes " on and on in addition to on on plus on and upon on and with and on in and on along with on on plus on and upon on and in and on with and on and on on and also on and upon on and on and on at and on in addition to on" and it helps make the box extended and out associated with place. I such as the design but the item deffiantly needs tidying up a little and maybe introduce a few graphics to the site, for example a banner along at the top. Just little things such as I have already stated, would finish off the site nicely. Excellent work. The basic layout appears to be good, but maybe propose a cleaner banner to … Continue reading

Text issues

ALL RIGHT, attached is a picture of my own site design. I currently get my slices lined up as indicated by red boxes (only a sample with the boundaries of your left and cruise sides, there’s much more slices). I wish my text, on the other hand, lined up as indicated by blue boxes inside those slices. Can i go about looking to use tables inside those cells to line up the text properly, or just slice the positioning to the azure boxes and end up receiving a more complex couple of slices and spacer gifs Furthermore, for some reason while i type in a table cell along with use " enter" to try and do a line break, it seems to skip few lines instead connected with one. How must do a usual paragraph format within a cell I’m guessing you might be using something under the lines of Dreamweaver and also Frontpage. In most WYSIWYG editors, it can be just SHIFT + GET INTO. This creates the < BR> (line break). Apologies, yes Dreamweaver MX Occur guys… gimme a few help here, this is EASY, I know it truly is To atart exercising . room within your boxes, … Continue reading

Photoshop to Dreamweaver

Hello there, I will be currently trying to complete a site, Concerning completed it with Photoshop 7 sliced the image ” up ” and opened the item in Dreamweaver MX good edited it bob’s your current uncle. As well as layout is a normal logo banner using a links nav box on left and main content common box in middle My problem is when content starts to stretch the chief content box it distorts the rest of the images, I thought it absolutely was a simple event of setting this sliced image with a background image although No hehe ANy help could well be greatly appreciated TIA, DOHBOY If you work with percentages for every little thing, that would the be the issue. You have bitmap photographs. They aren’t like vectors and so are not going to magically bode well stretched. To keep this problem from happening, you should have the images of you nave set with a fixed width along with height. I hope you comprehend what I’m clearing up. I’m basically conserving it once Truly sliced it as well as opening it up straightaway in Dreamweaver Concerning the box broken up into the main area including a left, … Continue reading

Site Redesign

Two questions with the fine people with WDF that halt long enough to help care – A SINGLE. Do you think I should stick with the old design (http: //fmd. port5. com) or develop the modern one, ignore the particular header though (http: //fmd. port5. com/Redesigns) (working for the domain soon – promise: -D) 3. Firefox users you will have spotted this already – how one can get the boxes to fall into line with the header (there’s something wrong while using CSS I think) http: //fmd. port5. com/Redesigns/ ) I dont just like the gray background upon #1, but usually it looks far better IMO. The second design is a superb concept, but I hate the nav, or along with scheme. The banner has lots of bright colors, and the other site is shades of blue. I think a balance must be struck. Also, I hate the font styles utilized in the nav, and the " fresh… " headings can be a little too huge IMO. Simply my 2 pence worth. Thanks with the feedback Spluf, you’ve reinforced a few things that have been niggling me regarding the second design. I think I will change the over the top … Continue reading

Looking for a tool to draw pages layout.

Howdy. I’m currently organizing documents that summarize proposed layouts involving some intranet pages in the company. I’m basically creating tables throughout OpenOffice Writer along with manually draw links, text fields, hyperlinks etc. in people tables. Because of this I get basic and clear sketch of each page’s layout. But this technique is quite inefficient and I appeared to be wandering if there are actually any simple resources that help developing such layouts. Just an application that would ok , i’ll to create (or actually drag)buttons, checkboxes, textual content fields, etc. over a blank page and maybe exercise . comment to each one element. Then I could save the styles and put them in a very document so that someone else could actually make those pages based on my project. Has any regarding You guys got word of an application that permits doing those points (I’m not discussing WYSIWYG creation gear – just something to make layout projects). I would very much recognize the value of any recommendations. Basically you should do a EXTREMELY basic wireframe primary. Just simple monochrome boxes in your flowchart manner this tells the coder where pages will probably go when clicked, for example. On a Apple, … Continue reading

Adobe InDesign -> HTML

Howdy, Among my clients thought he would design the system for her website herself in Adobe InDesign. I have a variety of InDesign files at this point, but I can’t figure out how to turn them straight into a site. Could anyone you need to instruct me on the way to convert from InDesign with a website Many thanks, Simkin good, i guess this won’t be as easy seeing that " just convert it into a website". I don’t know Indesign, but i’m really sure there’s a plan for exporting styles as images. Once exported, you can cut up these graphics in photoshop plus build your navigation based on these using tables within your favourite HTML Manager (e. g. Dreamweaver, goLive, for example. ) or program code it manually. All the best! InDesign is actually layout software to get PRINT. As far as I know, you cannot move images, because InDesign would not even really employ images. It creates links to shots. Not saying the most effective way, but if I became in your predicament, here’s what I would do… Save to be a. pdf (file> PDF FILE styles… ), amenable in Photoshop or perhaps ImageReady, and slice. Biggest problem… … Continue reading
