Considering Career Change

Greetings, We are a forty-something degree educated professional engineer, who after TWENTY FIVE years in engineering is looking to change direction. Relating to been a end user and customer connected with web solutions, and have been developing my own ring websites for a little bit now. I are comfortable with HTML, CSS, ASP, PHP, SQL Equipment, and MySQL although in no way an expert. We are thinking of switching direction into website design. General ? from newbie

A bit brief background first— I’m considering a career change from the world of architecture to the world of website design. I’ve done loads of graphics work ahead of, so I’ve became the visual finish down. I’ve also got a little bit experience w/ web page design — I’ve made some basic HTML sites before and one using ImageReady instruction online my school times. And so my question is— With the amount of scripting languages and also what not out there, how do you decide which one to dive into CSS appears promising… I like the idea of seperating style & content material (less code, sooner loading pages, higher search results rankings). Time for a career change – want to move into web design

Track record info: Ive been residing overseas for 10+ several years in South Korea and recently decided to repatriate 36 months from now. One thing i want to do is get myself a different career every single child generate income when I move back to Canada. For that last 3 a long time Ive really savored hacking away at my sites and helping friends and colleagues start sites or moodle websites. However, despite what my pals think, I am truly a hack who seem to only knows enough to be dangerous. The thing is i enjoy working on web pages and wish to transition into web development full time. Clearly Ill really need to build a stock portfolio of sites. Im willing to put the time into that. More to the point however is developing my set of skills and qualifications. I recently bought CSS Mastery all of which be going through that the minute the book gets there. What I wish to do is have some courses to obtain a focused approach for you to improving my expertise. Web Design Career Change

Hi guys, it’s fine to finally join this wonderful community forum. I’m a cs scholar from johns hopkins and am service plan making a shift in career in to Web Designing. I have some experience back college involved in coding, so i do think the aspect with web designing wouldn’t be too alien in my opinion. html and css are generally pretty much the most crucial things i have to know and master very first right html may be a given, but what are some other things which can be a must know A pal of mine mentioned a few things to me including css, adobe flex, dotNet, Csharp, time period blend, flash/silverlight…. Question about web designer/interactive job market…

Howdy, Throughout southern california Michelle and I will be new to the following forum. I was your graphic designer intended for almost 18 years once i had to make a career change and also have been doing something else in the past 10 years. I am looking at knowledge ? to school to educate yourself web design/programming/interactive animation so I could go back into your graphic world with experience inside newest technology. My question is We have watched the industry I will be currently in visit downhill fast, in that , my pay is definitely half what it absolutely was 10 years ago once i started due for you to outsourcing, mommies wanting to stay at home and will have any pay they might get, and voice recognition. I here’s a medical transcriptionist. My question is where is a state of this graphic industry.
