How to host live chat?
I’m working with a website for some sort of community. I’d like to host now and then a special occasion chat, where we’d have a very special guest that we’d interview. Certainly, we don’t need everybody to talk simultaneously, therefore have a plan to mute everybody except the selected interviewers as well as the special guest. Any clues about how I could have this sort of chat on my own site I’ve searched and discover many chat plans for websites, but none of these had this choice to mute a clear group of users. I pondered doing it irc next, but have not just a clue how for you to program the irc towards my site, so visitors would not have to worry about the complicated functions. Any insight, suggestion or help shall be greatly appreciated. /felipao.

Interactive Contact form
I’d prefer to add the interactive contact variety where people might insert their artists, emails, comments etc after which it submit. Unforuntately I have got (pretty much) zero clue how to start this. Is it complex stuff You would like a server edge scripting language (PHP, ASP(VB, C), JSP, Coldfusion, etc) to do that. (the inputs can be stored somewhere WE presume). When you’ve got knowledge of a script language, it’s fairly easy. If not, you’ll have to learn one. That will take a little bit of time, but is very rewarding once you start to master the idea. Any kind of interactivity through a web site page (except switching objects around within the page/changing background color as well as the sorts), is exclusively achievable through machine scripts.

Recommendations?
I’m really not sure where in order to post this, so I apologize if it’s not in the section. I have been doing xhtml, and css for approximately half a calendar year, and was thinking what area I should focus on learning next. I am really weak within the programming department, and it’s time with luck to learn any scripting language (client or perhaps server side). I have done a certain amount of javascript, such as utilizing it in mouserovers about image maps, but thats concerning this. I honestly have difficulty coming up with things to do with javascript, period. I know it really is used for files validation, but the many useful website features need a server side scripting terms. I would like to continue improving my web expertise, but I have no clue where to move from here… Regarded as a learn asp, aspx, php, javascript, or maybe do most site developers buy screenplays, and just learn the basics (installing them). I am completely lost. What kind of skills does it take to obtain a job, as any web-developer, or web-programmer, or what skills does an individual need to initial their own web company I understand I’m no-where … Continue reading

‘click for larger image’ and ‘click next to continue’
I’ve two questions. Initial, I have the floated column towards right of the text that secures images, that if clicked, pop up a larger version. I’ve noticed that a lot of sites say ‘click photo for larger version’ and also something similair beneath each picture. Do I should do this Will the user automaticly hover over it to discover if this is a link Secondly, it seems like many sites chop ” up ” articles into many pages, and when you find yourself reading you press ‘next’ or ‘continue’ to take you to the subsequent page. Is this imagined to break down the article into unique comprehensive thoughts such as lists do A few pointer break my articles up into smaller pages Thanks alot in your help: classic: Kefka, I think to answer your questions, you should consider your audience. People who utilize the internet regularly is not required to be told to click for your larger image, many of us do it and pretty much look for them. Less experienced end users still need the particular clue. Just how long are your content articles Breaking them affordable into multiple pages can help reduce the scroll standard and make map-reading … Continue reading
