Newbie question, need DWMX help

I’m trying to hook up the shopping cart in order to zillions of enhance cart buttons (also drop-down listings, check boxes, and so on. ) All it is in DreamweaverMX, and this is my difficulty: I can do enhance cart either by using link or form, but I can’t determine how the cart is supposed to tell one enhance cart button, and so on., from another. It looks in my opinion like they all have same url, and I don’t see a better way the forms determine them uniquely also. I’m thinking it is a basic enough concern it probably would not matter if it is in DWMX and also not (also their forum tends to get you ads without having to anything helpful; -) Whilst I’m truly pathetic along with code, just enjoying a handle on what exactly makes the distinction should sort this out… I desire! Thanks beforehand, Leila.

Math for Downloads

I’ve some flash that we have done, like most it’s very large (1. 48MB) I’d like to know who to undertake the math to provide a crude estimate on how long it would consider at 33. 6kb I’d say 8-10minutes dependant upon phone lines, and ISP’s. yeah, but I know their has to be some kind regarding math behind it that we am not figuring out every one of the way. 1MB=1042Kb /33. 6Kb I might think you provide you with the time but I am not sure… every little thing is " like terms" but I had been never that superb in math. I are not aware of the maths involved, but a friend who wasn’t very flash clever, created a 600KB web site in Swish, and that took approximately 1 1/2 minutes to load using a 56K modem, so I think 8 minutes isn’t careless estimate. You should think about your current bandwidth though… everytime someone visits your own page, 1. 48MB associated with bandwidth gone… If they miss that intro or anything, and want to watch after it again, they would click refresh. BAM! yet another 1. 48MB associated with bandwidth gone. hehe, yeah I’ve 50GB a … Continue reading

Best Forum Software / PHP vs CGI / search friendly URLs / etc.

Howdy all. A search here for " website software" found better discussions about a year old. So I would like to start a fresh thread…. here is what I understand and my fears: ONE PARTICULAR. vBulletin is " the common. " Most every serious forum employs it. It uses PHP which is extremely reliable. Excellent support forum. Price tag about $80. A COUPLE OF. InvisionBoard is cost-free, the best " free" website software, and 90% competitive with vBulletin, by all accounts. Also employs PHP, also is known for a great support community forum. The main distinction: not quite as simple to modify. (Not that they are confused with " Infoboard" in addition to " Ikonboard. " ) Therefore, it seems if you ask me the 2 decisions are vBulletin and also InvisionBoard. However I am not a programmer and We have these questions: SEVERAL. WHAT IS THE MOST BENEFICIAL CGI FORUM ALONG WITH SEARCH-FRIENDLY URLs I just did plenty of surfing for " directory-making" scripts at resourceindex. com—and it seems that PHP scripts NEVER advertise " seek friendly URLs. " So I am assuming, PHP are unable to do this We have discussed about " seek friendly URLs" right here … Continue reading

Best software set for an onoine media archive?

Hello all. I’ve been looking around at various articles management systems for something that can basically, hold advertising. Imagine this… you will have MP3s, Wavs, Pictures and video with a particular band and you intend to save them just about all online for great grandchildren. THe closest bit of software i did find to create a great media archive seemed to be MediaWiki. Why Versioning plus dates… we find the whole history involving changes. Support. There is help for pictures, media and what about a little video Problems Not really file centric. Files support articles not the other way around. One example is, you dont need to create an article about a pair list you recovered on the stage. You distribute a photo involving it, label them and describe them. Its a understated but important distinction. Wikiness… this isnt planning to be edited by the public, least not really initially. Has anyone managed to place something like the following together I havent managed to discover any software actually. Dont midn editing something somewhat but it’d be nice to possess most of it into position. Regards sounds like you could utilize flash, bit overpriced though.

crit on this site

didn’t would like to put this from the " hows my site section" as i possess only developed the item and also would like to remoce the link after a bit of crit. http: //www. paulcurley. com/white/home. php like i mentioned i developed coursesmart, designed by this clinet. please note any faults you will observe within the internet site. developed this site for a client. design ended up being completly done by client. if any can see the actual difference between along with of the photograph headers on each one page and bg i want to know. the client said them to noticed a distinction so i modify the container bg for you to an image, but i never saw the condition in the 13th place so cannot tell if the fixed. ta I’m guessing the images were PNGs and also the client looked on it in IE, which gets the color gamut wrong and is particularly easy to see every time a PNG is directly near to another image or solid color. absolutely no is all jpg. i think its to do with crap monitors. not technical to describe properly, but in this old job i had a really … Continue reading

CSS or Tables

Do you find it best to: Design a website so it is completely table-less OR…… Design a website where you work with tables for layout and CSS regarding presentation Continually #1 without exemption, although keep in your mind tables are the precise thing to use when representing tabular information. Use < div> rather than table and CSS with regard to presentation setting up Div for system and CSS with regard to presentation… Meh, you are doing know that they’re saying that tables should by no means be used (even intended for tabular data)… instead you’re designed to use < dt> < dd> tags.. I haven’t completely grasped/accepted that idea truthfully speaking but I do know from my a lot more recent research that tables = awful. Nonsense. In case you have data that is actually naturally represented implementing column headers and also rows, it’s any table by distinction. dl/dd/dt is just for lists of meanings. The entire point of semantic markup could be to use the label that describes the images, and a table is okay at describing a new table. Googling XHTML Validation and Tables…. I obtained enough links to choke a mule along with… But this guy seems … Continue reading

Aspects of webdesign

Hello all!! For just a school project, I’d prefer to create an online site with an 3D IMAGES interface room (like my website: am-plaza. com) For the project, I want to speak about webdesign and I can do an ”investigation” about this. Our question is: what are the aspects of webdesign plus websites (and where it is best to pay attention to) We’ve this now: 1. Resolution. 2. Loading times. A FEW. Audience. FIVE. interface (my A 3d model room forexample) FIVE. Browser compatibility. Do you have any more SOME. User dislike of faux 3d interfaces. Severely, unless you’re speaking WOW, there is probably about zero research users enjoy interacting in this way. Read about Microsoft Bob. Hotspot 3D has a reputation unenthusiastic user " investigation" into may be reasons this sorts of interface fails. What, but what MY PARTNER AND I actually mean just isn’t that people could go 3D inside my website and also something. But Come on , man that I will create a 3D room, take a render of it, which will often be 2D. The user can interract by using it. Like my web site which youve witnessed (am-plaza. com). Thanks for the comment. A … Continue reading

Image Hyperlink Won’t Work in Firefox – Why

Can anyone tell me why clicking the wheelchair image in the top right with qwebsites. co. uk/firststop4 (sorry I haven’t managed to get a link since I don’t want Google to listing a draft site) will not take you on the wheelchair page if viewed in Firefox but Will perform so when looked at in IE Have spent several hours trying different ways of doing this kind of (tried enclosing inside a div plus tested out css menu plus another menu package) but it throws a wobbly each time. For some rationale, doubleclicking this wheelchair pic highlights market car pic further down the screen – again only in Firefox. That source code is definitely: That CSS is: Not being able to test it… I would start by altering the Z-index and see when there is. Also, define dimensions around class (sometimes FF needs to be given the size)… Do that… . wheelchair place: absolute; top rated: 4px; still left: 796px; width: 150px; height: 52px; boundary: 0px, 0px, 0px, 0px; z-index: 9; I am wondering if FF is definitely seeing the image " behind" instead of " in front". Also, I’m never the fan of utter (or relative) setting. This opens … Continue reading
