DW CS3: Images will not preview in local browser
Just like the title said, my images of which I’m inserting onto my document will not likely preview in my personal local browser. What am I performing wrong Its probably the referencing img method. Can you publish some code out of this file that illustrates the images you may not see In addition, check that the particular images are where you would imagine they are. In the event the img path is relative (such as < img src=" document. jpg" > ) then the folder that this HTML file was in should have the file. jpg on the inside it too. Greetings bfsog, thanks to your reply. I started a brand new page in Dreamweaver CS3 and designed a brand new image in Fireworks. It was before just a basic word, " Store, " and I saved it like a. gif file. I stored the item in my main folder and injected the image from the assets menu. The idea displayed fine around my DW insurance coverage, but, yet once again, showed up like a " " when previewing the item in safari (MAC) where the image should are already and only shown the alt label in Opera. Suggestions code: … Continue reading

To Use Photoshop or not
Hello there, I wanted to find out if using photoshop to design a website is an alternative way to go.. So after we obtain a. psd file we need to slice it to obtain a. html… And how simple is Would it be easy to maintain the site wen it is complete this way Thanks some will express its the worst route to do it, and really in my experience its the Other worst way, because FrontPage will be worst way. Nevertheless, if you are just setting up a site for enjoyment, than who cares the way you build it. If you need to have customers, than using Photoshop to develop the site and slice it’s the bad way. If you are searching to learn to build websites, start with these: css + xhtml Why Would it be the work involved Or will it be the final appearance Photoshop is just a tool. Whether you put it to use or not has related to your own liking (many people have a preference for Fireworks for example) and whether people think you’ll even have a graphics editor to start with. On the some other hand, Photoshop can be pretyt much " … Continue reading

Design a home page that looks like a book cover?…
Therefore, I have Illustrator CS2, Illustrator CS2, Imageready CS2, Dreamweaver CS3- I’d like to make my home page look like the cover on the book, I am very familiar with how to use all the programs listed over (except minor expertise in Dreamweaver), but am unclear what workflow to use to pull off of my design, so that Im not copying and pasting backwards and forwards. Relating to a really neat texture that Truly designed in PS, MY SPOUSE AND I made an extruded 3d images book shape around Illustrator. I could have a logo while in the title space of the book. I wish to have a nav pub below that having buttons that visually depress. Below that Let me have my SEVERAL main links with the bulk of traffic to go to and a Flash Video which will play on the underside left. I’d like the texture image to get mapped to your book cover design. And the nav pub, should I have that during the book cover image and piece it, placing backlinks over it; or must i design it as separate image to get pulled in through Dreamweaver. What would look best or function very best, … Continue reading

Marketable design knowledge
I am considering learning some web page design. After talking into a friend a special program I’m evaluating studies, HTML, Javascript, Macromedia (or dreamweaver or maybe Front Page), Macromedia Firework MX, Macromedia FlashMX, in addition to PHP, MySQL. A friend explained these courses are good however the Macromedia suite is probably not as marketable as some other programs. Does anyone other than them have an opinion on this What programs would you learn if you were going to consider marketability in a creative profession, like employed in media/video, etc. Thanks on your help. Macromedia won’t exist anymore. Flash and Fireworks are a compenent of the Adobe Creative Suite now. It appears like you’re more thinking about the design stop of things. Available for you, I’d probably suggest learning web page design before getting directly into learning skills. Which means studying how web pages work, how to style them graphically so they’re more useful, and how to create them convey this means, purpose, and nature appropriately. From there, I’d suggest learning Photoshop and Display, as those shall be your most valuable design tools. After you’ve tackled the STYLE aspect, look in to the SCRIPTING aspect : HTML and CSS. Which should … Continue reading

the actual "design" of websites?
I am a pretty familiar with html and css. Also im getting really confident in this php/MySQL skills also. My only challenge is design. I browse this site alot and see some very amazing designs. Mine compared to theirs is novice. What tutorials may also help me learn about web site design. Please dont just simply point me into a photoshop tuts. I want something that basically teaches the " net side" of design and style. Are a person talking appearance or functionality and system Well i’ll do the functionality and i realize like basic layout(where choices should go in addition to stuff). It’s just creating those amazing graphics and identifying cool original suggestions. Gotcha. I think a good deal has to do with knowing the program you will be working with and the right way to really use the idea. I use Fireworks but the majority use Photoshop. They do many of the same things since they’re just related and suitable, but PS is often a notch above. Color combination is often a big key. I’ve seen people aim to put purple in addition to green together and also brown and red and yes it just kills the whole … Continue reading

Photoshop vs Fireworks?
I went for a interview yesterday and i became told that the company uses fireworks instead of photoshop for artwork design work. They also advised me that knowing the right way to use fireworks would be a prerequisite if i used to be to work presently there. I have been using photoshop within the last two years and although i used to be told otherwise, swamping to fireworks sounds like a really wearisome experience. Is fireworks really that much better to use relating to web design Additionally does anybody here know of an good a excellent site or two that could help me using this type of transition MY SPOUSE AND I use Fireworks. They’re both from the same company, Adobe, and use beautiful same features. Photoshop is just a little better as far as really making wierd inspired backgrounds, but fireworks is merely as good from making graphics i think. Fireworks was made particularly for net graphics and offers good optimization. Once you learn the basic painting tools, your transition ought to be easy I consider. I hope they don’t want you to work with Fireworks for building webpages, that’s when issues get complicated. I tried making a menu … Continue reading

I am just gonna scurry right now, before people bombard me w/ all the more reasons to how to code by fretting hand. What sort of site do you want to design anyway I didnt know you could potentially design a site in photoshop btw, MY PARTNER AND I only use of which to resize my own images… and whats fireworks Without a doubt, I’m a noob to Web development. I have CS4 and enjoy Dreamweaver. I design and style my art in photoshop. I discover more design completed in Fireworks, nevertheless never used the item. I have the feeling Fireworks might be a great transition don’t know why. I needed to see what the particular experts say. I agree with your thoughts with this forum and coding. MY PARTNER AND I respect coding, but I need to concentrate on what I could get done or … Continue reading

Looking for help
I’m unsure if any associated with you ca assistance me or not necessarily but I’ll look at. My girlfriend is a intro to web site design class. They are applying 2 programs. Is Dreamweaver and additional is a program they use to set up the page. I’m unsure what it is known as but I speculate they create the website/page within this program then transfer it up to dreamweaver. I’m looking to buy both of this for her. Any thoughts on what it is Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, or InDesign could well be my guess. Possibly Photoshop. If it truly is, get ready to spend about $1000 for any two!
