Advice for a newbie – adding anchors to scrolling elements?
My sister and I are looking to create a website like this: http: //www. pauljnoble. com/ The leading function of the website is usually to display articles inside chapters. The Chapters as well as articles will substitute the portfolio written content of Paul’s web page. We are thinking the chapters will become vertically aligned and that the articles will probably go horizontally. We would like each content to contain advertising share buttons. What is the best way to try and do this The articles would be the same style, though the layout of each will be slightly different. What is the terminology that describes these scrolling pages Is he webpages Blocks Partitions Panes Component of the problem is the fact I just do not have all the verbiage down yet. There has to be any reason this javascript wouldn’t allow for the articles to scroll similar way the photographs do thanks for ones help. This will probably be a rough couple weeks Away from curiosity, how long don’t you think it would take an experienced person to layout a website like that using content that shouldn’t get finalized for some more weeks We are hitting the guides hard and chipping … Continue reading

New here and need some info :)
Hi, Lately I’ve been receiving the urge to make / run my own ring chess gaming website. It’s been years since I made a web site and even then it had been with FrontPage. I’d like to know type programs and skills it’d require to produce website with new member login, forums, live chat, leader forums, rankings, live multiplayer chess adventures and tournaments. As well, if this is way to avoid it of my league for how much spare time I’ve, how would I attempt finding freelancers to assist me along by using it Hmm well it is not something you can acquire a program by using and it’l do it for you. You will have to program these items and it definitely isn’t simple. Hence you’ve broke the item down quite perfectly, you need a web site with a associate login, forums, live chat, leaderboards/rankings and also a chess game. So if you ignore the user discussion forums, you’ll probably need to think about making your own application (or getting one generated for you). If you were first a framework, I always suggest Codeigniter (a PHP framework based about the MVC design pattern), then in fact the member logon … Continue reading

How much should I charge?
I’m setting up being a freelancer as soon as I finish my personal website. How much must i charge for my personal services. I will be offering Web site design, Logo design, and SEO. I shouldn’t have a portfolio still. I would say it would depend on your skill level. When I started off I knew nothing compared to what I find out now. Also, without any other sites below your belt, I would say you can probably are related some work for less overall than you could possibly think, just so that you can get some operate. I prefer asking per project rather than per hour. Not that either way is better, it just works to do. Just starting away, I tried to put an offer to the table that the buyer could not change down. After several jobs as well as a few lost job opportunities because I over quoted, I have found a nice price range that works intended for my business plus clients. There are many factors it is advisable to consider too, for instance market area, competitors, etc. I didn’t give you a price, but hopefully the right advice. Check out your local Craigslist . … Continue reading

Please help me choose between PHP/RUBY/etc
I need help deciding which of will fit my project the best. I know several programming, a bit of pascal/c, and I realize some SQL, and many HTML. What We would like done: An internet store, products put in in categories, that has a picture. Clients might add products, but there isn’t any need for traditional checkout. They should get only one choice at " checkout", a button which sends to a good email they add their order. This sent order is actually without pictures connected with products. That’s about all to get done really. This should happen this manner because these " clients" are people internationally, they make their orders, give to 1 person, who messages them to people, we make the actual orders, and then using a given date which person comes and picks every one of the orders up. I can about guess how to produce the database, had a training course on SQL several years back, but why don’t you consider the front ending like, the true mmm " face" of all this So, I can’t come to a decision what I must study to let me do it. You should advise. Alon. It isn’t really … Continue reading
