Problems with Alignment

Hi all im new here as well as web design its-self I am aware HTML/XHTML/CSS, but I am having real problems getting something to function. I shall explain I will be creating a site using Dreamweaver plus it has a table that is spilt into one collumn with a rowspan of A FEW, then the 3 OR MORE rows down the middle, then another collloumn just like the first.
