Preload images or use a status bar to indicate page load progress?
Howdy, I’m redesigning my own site for a change and still have decided to use Simple Controls Gallery for the image viewing (it’s some sort of photography website). Nonetheless, it’s taking around 10 seconds for any gallery to initialise. We have 52 images up to now, all " saved for web" through Photoshop to minimize size. I think preloading the images would be counter productive as which is what the JS gallery script does on. Is there a way of integrating some sort of status bar and also countdown clock if anyone else is to see while the gallery initialises And here is the link: http: //www. 17minutes. company. uk/ Many thanks, Lol Are you sure it’s your images causing the condition and not the gallery If it’s the images, preload them independently without the gallery and display them over a page. No strange effects or anything at all… just the FIFTY TWO images on 1 page. This noises excessive, but you’re wanting to determine whether it’s the images or the gallery that is the problem. I suspect it’s the gallery, even with FIFTY TWO server calls to receive those images. Another thing you could possibly do is weight a … Continue reading

JavaScript Tutorials
Any one know any decent ones around I’ve a e-book on it, but I believe it’s outdated (Beginning JavaScript : 3rd Edition (wrox)). Drop me a line in the event you know/used one. I am looking myself. I’ll read and alter it, but I can’t for any life of me write my own. There are a few videos on iTunes OUGHOUT that I’ve downloaded, but have yet to really watch… Lynda. com offers great ones, we all used them within class, but I can’t pay for ’em.: / Should you have a little money to waste, you can take a look. Here’s a chek out one at your Brown University Department of Computer Technology – looks very comprehensive. I don’t know what circumstances managed to get possible to accessibility this without paying – Brown is often a pretty pricey Uni… Also, this is a niche site we used tremendously for my college courses. Many thanks a bunches. I’ve used Tizag to be a reference point average joe. jQuery fantastic resource as effectively. In most cases, though, the best thing that can be done is look up things while you come across them might end up piecing toghether a person’s code … Continue reading
I need your ideas for a layout please
howdy, new to that forum, poked around a little but didn’t genuinely see what I used to be looking for taken care of. I manage several websites, but I undertake it part time, I spend more of my time frame repairing computers, pictures, etc, not graphic design or webdesign. Though I’m acquainted with code, and photoshop/graphic pattern I don’t undertake it enough to elevate this one site to how much it needs to be at. jagoutlet. com is a leader in sales connected with used/new Jaguar elements, mostly to a mature demographic. We are expanding what we want on the webpage, and would love to completely re-due coursesmart and make the item uhhh…. look better. To be trustworthy out budget is quite limited, so paying a high end company to create the site is unthinkable. What I ended up being looking for is a great business template Possible build off with even if we will need to pay for it. I know that is the bit of your loaded questions, but what companies/sites would you recommend that would be easy to fill content with, be expandable, able to hold CSS value etc. Would be incredibly professional looking and perhaps a … Continue reading
Web Building Software
Howdy There, I want to give my personal website a facial rejuvenation! I used Frontpage & it now looks expired & not specialized enough. Can anyone recommend an excellent web building software which i can use It doesn’t end up being free, but I would like a trial so We can see if We can use it & in the event it’s good just before I buy this. Many thanks, Jean. Jean…. It is advisable to find a free of charge CSS/XHTML template then customize it oneself, employing Notepad (or Notepad++)… fundamentally, doing all of the coding by side. Any web page software you make use of, especially if it’s actually a WYSIWYG type regarding editor, will add so much unnecessary stuff to the coding… and it’s going to be very hard for to later add a number of dynamic content. In the event you insist on a editor, Dreamweaver is actually popular. This is what I mean by simply free templates: http: //www. freecsstemplates. org/ You download each one of their files, upload them for a site, and in that case hand-code all changes towards CSS stylesheets, HTML PAGE, and images. Also, give us a chek out your existing … Continue reading

Show different content to mobile users via same url?
Howdy all Found this post (http: //www. seroundtable. com/single-url-mobile-seo-13521. html) Wherever John Mueller is actually quoted: " utilize the same URLs so to show the appropriate version of the content without your redirect" Can i ask how to begin this I guess through CSS POST guess otherwise by javascript.. but then what happens if browser/phone has javascript switched off.. Can certainly anyone help Many thanks You’re probably thinking about something like this particular. Mind you, I haven’t used this yet personally because Canada’s mobile or portable bandwidth charges usually are extremely restrictive in addition to I haven’t investigated getting a phone which i could tether for you to my router nonetheless. In that article these were using Windows Portable 5 (anceint) with the lame old model of IE that sported it. (I experienced a phone this ran that)… Right now, modern browsers such as those on iPhones, Google android phones, etc, format the pages well. TheGame1264, I would likely recommend the HTC Inspire 4G. (You know where to check to read that review lol)… It is just a great phone and it also renders websites well (And it can run Opera, Firefox, for example. ) many thanks thegame and shovenose … Continue reading

Logo for portfolio site
Howdy. I’m starting your portfolio site, in addition to I made this specific logo in pixlr (Since MY PARTNER AND I don’t legally own photoshop). Tell me what you think of it! Appears to be pretty nice, George. It is just a bit fuzzy, even though. I would just utilize the GD by themselves, but line-up that " G" in addition to " D" better. Then, in a sub logo, or whatever, indicate the entire name " GDesign" That GD alone would create a nice logo that is certainly used on internet business cards, shirts, for example. . Many thanks! It’s funny, because pxlr doesn’t let letters bigger in comparison with 130, so I’ll either really need to get photshop, or determine something else available. Yes I sorta favored those two, also. I’ll see what I’ll do about distancing them… Try Paint. net Many thanks! I’ll give that a go. Just from curiousity, what do you design In the event it’s graphics linked… wouldn’t you private photoshop It’s only a tad bit ironic than a designer is requesting programmers for layout help. Quite curious. . Essentially, I’m still any student and starting out. Here’s my intro line, says it all … Continue reading
